As I just sealed the envelope on the survey they mailed me, I’m reminded of how much of a horrible experience it was dealing with RPM. If 1 is the worst and 5 is the best it’s all 1’s from me. I’m going to generalize because while we had one dude we dealt with, we had to deal with at least 5 different assistants. So as far as I’m concerned the ineptness is company wide. My first clue as to how they feel conducting business is appropriate, was when the guy told my husband we should just buy a $ 600-$ 700,000.00 home. Why are we wasting time on measly $ 300,000.00 homes. My husband and I both have jobs. We could afford it, theoretically. Living within your means is for wimps right? Forget that pesky housing crash that just happened because loans were being written to people who realistically couldn’t afford them. It was slow and tedious for the entire 6 month ordeal to purchase our home. They constantly lied about sending paperwork to us when they didn’t. Then expecting us to have it in by ridiculous deadlines. The communication between them and our insurance company was a joke. They gave them the wrong address to mail the appropriate paperwork. Then called them at 4pm on the day before Thanksgiving to see if they could get the paperwork to them before 5pm that day. Awesome right?! I double checked my employment information once, to only find it was incorrect. I emailed the correct info and called the assistant for that day to make sure they corrected it. I even crossed out what they had and wrote in the correct info, then rescanned and emailed it back. I asked how they happened to put a location on current paperwork that I haven’t worked at in over 6 years? The assistant to the assistant tells me that it was from a previous mortgage they did for us. Hmmm? We’ve never had a previous mortgage through them? So another lie? Fast forward to a week later they are emailing and calling asking why my employment isn’t verifying. Um? I gave the correct info… twice. I can’t even count how many times they asked for one thing then ask for the same thing again but slightly different. When you ask why, my favorite answer was«It was supposed to be this way all those other times too». I’m not even sure what that means? Our house was officially ours at some point and our insurance co. never received a call back even after a week of leaving messages as to when the close date was. All of which we supposedly needed in order to close. I finally got to the point that I didn’t trust them with any of my information. They were constantly asking for banking information then saying they needed more information a day later. With no explanations. At one point I told my husband that so many different people had asked for our personal information I don’t trust then with it. From one month to the next we were dealing with a new assistant asking for SSI #’ and bank statements. My personal favorite part was when we had been living in the house for a month and a half and get a frantic email from some guy at RPM stating we never paid our first mortgage payment. Even though this question was asked multiple times and we were told yes it was. I just loved paying two mortgage payments in one month! It really gives me a great feeling about a company. They are constantly asking for referrals. I would never, ever refer RPM to anyone. For the love of god, go ask a crack head to do your mortgage for you before you come here.
