Cynthia Terry does an amazing cut and color on my short hair, and that can be hard to find. Complete strangers stop me all the time to tell me how much they love it. Highly recommend.

Switched here last year and I love it. Friendly staff, easy parking, comfortable environment. Cynthia Pompa is great — I always get compliments after getting my hair done because her suggestions for a change always work perfectly. Highly recommend Cynthia and Raymond Marcus Salon.

Updated 1÷23÷16. Under new management and no longer customer focused. Last two interactions with management have been less than satisfying. Very condescending. Front counter had used glasses and empty soda bottle, just looked trashy. Disappointing.

Cynthia Terry is a Godsend! She has completely transformed my hair. She has found the balance between keeping my hair stylish and healthy, she is very careful not to over process even though I want dramatic color changes each season. Both my boys get their hair cuts by her and she is great with them. Her hours are convenient, the salon is well located in Walnut Creek, and she is appropriately priced (she could charge twice as much in SF).

Betsy is an amazing colorist. Her balayage is on point my hair always grows out beautifully too. I’ve been with her since she was at Insignia Hair Salon. She always gets my hair the color I want it– and I always want it really fun colors! (silver, pink, rose gold, red, you name it!). I highly recommend Betsy.

I was very particular in finding the right place as I had decided to make a big change in cutting my hair short. I had not told my husband or my kids as to my decision as they always wanted to see me in long hair and I had felt to make a revolution. After looking at Unilocal,I called the salon and explained what I was looking for. The receptionist was kind enough to accommodate me on the same day appointment. She recommended Kim and I took on her suggestion as she said that Kim was one of their top hair cut stylist and had over 25 years experience. I was thankful to hear that Kim had a last minute cancellation. I told Kim what I had in mind and all I can tell you is that she pulled it off more than my expectation. Once I got home, my kids and my husband of 25years said that I got the best hair cut of my life.

Cynthia is absolutely the best colorist. My sister and I have tried so many of the upscale salons in Walnut Creek yet we have not found a better colorist. She is sweet, she listened to her customers and most importantly she is a genius at coring hair (color, highlight…). We are her customers for life.
Make sure you book in advance to get an appointment if you decided to use her services. She has a busy schedule.

Mina did a phenomenal job on my eyebrows. I don’t think I will ever go anywhere else! She takes her time and is extremely thorough. I’ll post a picture of my before and after just because it was so amazing!

I made my first appointment with Heidi back in August based on other Unilocal reviews. I am pretty particular about my shade of blonde, and Heidi did an awesome job matching my color with highlights. I have a lot of hair (which can be exhausting for a stylist), but Heidi took her time and did a great job not making the highlights too chunky.
I just finished my second appointment with Heidi and have again been impressed with her work. Salon staff is very friendly. There is a small parking lot (front desk will give you a permit to put in your window) but arrive early just in case you need to hunt for parking.

I moved to the Bay Area from Portland, OR. The stylist that I had up north had been doing my hair for over 12 years. It was hard for me to break away, to say the least. A good friend referred me to Heidi Williams. I’m so glad he did. She totally listened to me and make sure she had a clear understanding with what I was wanting. When she said, «I got it» something told me she did. And I was right! I love my cut and color. I’m super happy with it. And she’s awesome to hang out with. SHe’s a very fun, happy person. :D

Horrible experience. These idiots do not listen to their customers! In spite of telling 10 times the stylist will not listen to me. Looking like a clown after this. Please loose confidence and be a bit humble.

I am a pretty conservative person with my hair. I wanted to add some highlights and or color to my natural light brown with gray and Heidi did a wonderful job blending the gray with the highlights! I went in a few months ago and we started with a few and was back yesterday telling her more more more!!! She did and I LOVE it. She knows I’m growing my hair out so she used a color instead of bleach and I love the results. She also gave me one of the best blow outs I’ve had! My hair still looks good the morning after!!!

Thank you Carly!!! I feel cute enough to get away with anything. Carly took her time and consulted with me thoroughly throughout the process. She was efficient, professional, and fun. I normally would only splurge on a haircut here and there, but I will be returning to Carly in 2 months when it’s time for a trim.

Eyebrows: My eyebrow expert, savior and super star moved here so I had to follow her.
Mina is absolutely phenomenal when it comes to eyebrows, facial waxing and facials. She is a true artist and I get compliments every time I get my eyebrows done with her. She waxes and tweezes if necessary. She is meticulous and takes a lot of pride on her work.
Hair: I got a hair cut by Carly and was very satisfied. She is very sweet, friendly and listens to your requests and reservations with attention and care.
Hair: I had my hair done by Ray and was all around pleased with his work. He uses only top of the line products and dyes which have the least chemical and harming agents possible. I have noticed the difference on my hair after two coloring appointments.
Ambiance: The place is trendy, organized, clean, modern and stylish! I am sold.

Definitely ask for David Morrill if you haven’t already. He’s been cutting my hair for a couple years, and he’s always got great ideas. He knows what works for my face shape and my hair type, even as it’s changed some & gotten a but more wavy. Somehow he always remembers what my hair can & can’t do, I don’t know how he keeps track. I recommended a friend to come see him (she has pretty curly hair) quite a while back and she’s done her cuts with David ever since then, too. Today I went with the biggest change I’ve ever done (from long to rather short) and I’m so excited! I walked out of the salon super happy. It is icing on the cake that I’ve gotten compliments all day. He did all the little things to the style, exactly what I’d hoped it would be. So, he can do those big changes, but he’ll be considerate with your requests if you have specific things in mind.
And as for the Raymond Marc Salon, it was easy to call in & make an appointment, they were helpful on the phone and got me in quickly. Easy parking, too! They give you a little parking pass to place on your dash (since it’s located sort of diagonally across from Nordstrom and parking is at a premium as they are renovating things.) Chase bank is in the same parking lot FYI. Safeway is across the street.

I discovered Raymond Marc through LivingSocial after having a rather nightmarish experience at a local GreatClips. I was able to make an appointment for the day after I called with Carly, a fairly new specialist at the salon.
I came in on a Friday morning in desperate need of losing half, if not all, of my hair. Years of cheap haircuts, home haircuts (kitchen shears over the bathroom sink situations), and chlorine damage had relegated me to the librarian bun during the workweek. I’ve had salon phobia for my entire life, so going somewhere decent was a leap of faith for me. I only have soft curls in my hair, but for whatever reason every stylist I go to gives me a half-​baked sideways trim.
Carly was amazing — she brushed my once-​curly, now-​frizzy hair out dry and did a rough snip of where she wanted to cut after I gave her general guidance of what I was hoping for. An hour of washing, conditioning, trimming, drying, and styling later, and I walked out feeling 10 pounds lighter and a whole lot better about myself — the consistent stream of compliments I’ve been getting don’t hurt, either!
If you’re looking for someone who gets curly hair, has a great eye for natural-​looking styles, and is a pleasure to spend an hour with, go to Carly. It’s not an overstatement to say I got the best haircut of my life, and will definitely be going back!

You all know how it is, you find the perfect hairdresser and they disperse into the void.
And then you are flailing (failing?) and you’re sitting with someone who wants to iron your hair and ask you the same questions you’ve just answered five minutes ago.
So there you are. Doomed to grow your hair out to your ankles. But then, THEN you … find that treasure. A treasure named Heidi Williams!!!
Okay, I will admit it. I’ve stalked Heidi through Northern California.
The latest … I’ve located Heidi in Walnut Creek, CA at Raymond Marc Salon. But then I relocated to SoCal. And my hair started growing longer and longer. Of course I waited until I was back in the Bay Area for my next cut: I’m not letting anyone but Heidi touch my hair ever, ever again. I will follow her to the ends of the Earth.

Happy Thanksgiving! When asked what I am thankful for at dinner today, I answered the obvious things: good health, great family, happy life, etc. But one thing I left off my dinner-​table-​list was my hair! I felt so pretty with my cut and color and I love the way my hair looked today (and for the last couple weeks). Which is pretty huge, since my hair is my least favorite physical trait, and it’s usually pulled back into a bland ponytail style.
I visited Raymond Marc salon and actually got Ray as my stylist! The salon is in downtown Walnut Creek and the place is so much bigger than I expected! There is a private lot out front (get a tag from the front desk for your dashboard). It’s totally nice inside — there are a couple of seats, shelves full of beautifying products, and the friendliest front desk I’ve seen in a while. Natasha was working at the front and I actually stood at the desk and talked with her while I waited (I had arrived pretty early for my appointment). She brought me a glass of ice water and chatted away with me like we were good friends.
Once in the chair, Ray took a look at my hair and discussed his plan for me. He then noticed the hair cut from my husband, (guess it was pretty obvious) and took a little pity on me and trimmed it up. I’ve actually been wearing my hair down for the past couple of weeks just to show it off a little. The cut is really cute, but the color is what I love most. He expertly highlighted my hair and blended the color to match the bottom half of my hair (from my days as a blonde a couple of years ago.) The light tones are subtle but don’t go unnoticed. I’ve received lots of compliments from friends and family. I’m super happy with the result.
The salon does all sorts of other services — not just hair! I will absolutely recommend this place to friends — especially if you live or work near downtown Walnut Creek. The salon is huge and the staff are awesome — go check them out! You’ll thank me for it!
