Went inside and waited 20 minutes before someone came to serve us. The place wasn’t even busy. The waitress we had seemed off. She took my friends order and completely ignored us. When we asked her to take our order she said it was too late to order. I asked why she had ignored us earlier and she responded with saying we were at that bathroom at the time. I told her we clearly won’t since she took our friends order and not ours. She then proceeded to go to the table next to us and began taking shots with the 3 gentleman at the table. I have never had such terrible bar service. This poor women clearly wanted to drink so she ignored the customers order and instead began to drink with the customers who she thought would give her free drinks. Terrible Terrible service. For our first time there she ruined the experience and we will sadly not be going back.

Just walked in to try and catch the last part of a playoff game. Ordered up a Negro Modello, my favorite cervesa. I’m a refugee of Pyramid which closed last week and trying to find a new spot to enjoy my warriors. They have a big screen TV right in the middle of the bar, so this is a great spot to watch some sports. I had the El Pollo los diablos. The menu said it was spicy and it was TRUE! Whitney was there at the bar and she’s great. She knows her BA sports and takes care of the folks that sit with her. Other people that sat at the bar with me were also friendly, so, I’m going to try this place out and get my peeps from pyramid over here to watch games with me.

We went here on friday night for happy hour which runs 3 to 7 week nights. Most places end happy hour at 6 so the extra hour is a bonus. We had the mole bean dip which is pretty good and you get a huge bowl of it and they will bring you more chips if you ask them. You get your $ 5 worth. We also had the $ 5 Moscow mule and Kentucky mule and both were very good and we’ll worth the money. Next on our list were the $ 6 margaritas. This is when you know you are in a Mexican resteraunt. … lights out 5 star good. Bar staff was very friendly and welcoming. We will be back for happy hour and we will try a tequila flight too.

Thinking of moving to Walnut Creek from San Francisco so wanted to check out what WC had to offer in the sports bar section. Found this place and decided to give it a try. The carnitas nachos were soooo gooood. The drinks were great, especially the CEO breeze. The service was outstanding and ambiance was lively and fun. I know where I’ll be Sundays during football season if I move to Walnut Creek!

* Welcome Experience — Ordinary Was greeted and seated without being made to feel acknowledged in any way. Seemed like a chore to find a spot for us. * Establishment — Ordinary /gaudy This place feels strangely misplaced in Walnut Creek. Honestly this feels more like one of the places tucked into the corridor when you walk through to enter the Excalibur casino on the Vegas strip. If you’ve been to the Excalibur then you’ll know this isn’t a compliment… Day glow uniforms on jock /frat /party vibe staff are hard to take seriously. If the attentiveness of the staff were good then I’d feel differently but this gang was definitely all about the tequila party. Since my fifteen year old daughter and I were dining together and were not there for a tequila party, we found the ambiance to be way too loud, super douchey(sorry?) and tired. * Service — Ordinary Other than what I stated above, I got the impression that daddy /daughter two-tops aren’t the jam here. We need bachelor parties or wild groups to get any attention. * Food Quantity /Quality /Presentation — Ordinary I had shrimp tacos and they were good. My daughter had nachos and those were good too. The food was pricey in my opinion. Not somewhere I’d ever return to.

Average at best. Location is ideal for this business. Restaurant is spacious. Kind of exudes the look of a partial casual taqueria that has merged with a gorgeous bar — doesn’t quite streamline if you ask me, as far as the atmosphere goes. It did appear immaculately clean though, which is a bonus for them. They have an impressive sounding lunch/dinner menu, along with an even more impressive list of margarita concoctions. I ended up sitting at the bar area. I was taken care of by a super sweet, very professional young girl. I ended up ordering an appetizer of the Chorizo Jalepeno Poppers and the Polla A La Diabla — chicken in house made diablo sauce. I noticed a 10% discount off an appetizer with the Unilocal check in and decided to mention it to my server. She said she would take care of it when I’m finished. I then realized I was getting the app on happy hour, which then didn’t matter whether I got the discount. Poppers arrived first, looking decent in presentation. They turned out to be pretty good, but nothing I would be eager to have again. Diabla then arrived looking aesthetically pleasing, however taste wise it was just ok. Sauce lacked authenticity and tasted canned if you ask me. I then asked my server for the bill, when she mentioned the Unilocal discount that she was going to apply. I really wasn’t worried about it, but figured what the hell. She then went to ask one of the owners toward the back, if she could take the discount off an an app that is already on the happy hour menu. I then couldn’t help but notice to see how it appeared that they were quivering over whether or not go give the discount… are…you…serious? It seemed to have taken a great deal of effort and«deep contemplation» on whether or not to give the discount. My poor waitress didn’t have to deal with that, just to get it applied… Jesus. Anyhow, they applied it. Overall, aside from the great service I received from my server, the food was overpriced and less then impressive enough to have me eager to come back as well as for other obvious reasons.

Ok I definitely agree with a previous Unilocal reviewer who mentioned that you are what you hire(your staff). The thing is they are already bordering between a good place to grab a bite and watch a game vs. another Lift Lounge. There is a reason a lot of people stayed away from Lift Lounge and it eventually closed is because the staff drew a certain type of people. But to be eating your breakfast and watching someone show up who obviously works there go behind the bar and pour herself and her male friend shots and then go back around the other side of the bar and sit down is a bit odd and unprofessional. And then to go and help out the bartender by attending to a table is just not right. I don’t know about you, but I can’t drink and then go to my job. A HUGE plus though on having a brunch. For a selected amount of brunch options(which were good to choose from) and bottomless mimosas for $ 20 this made the place a great place to stop in and watch some games on a Sunday morning. The food here is good and the homemade tortilla chips are delicious. The bartender who helped me as soon as I walked in was very nice and helpful during my whole stay. I will go back and try it again. I just hope they figure out if they are a restaurant or a club though very soon. And maybe take another look at the people they are hiring. If they want to become the next Lift Lounge, then good for them and I will just stay away. But I hope not because we do need a good Mexican food place in town.

To be fair here’s my disclaimer: This review is based on the street tacos, house margaritas and customer service. Now 1st things 1st this place is nice and clean, casual chic with plenty seating and TVs. We arrived for Taco Tuesday and for $ 12 you get 3 hearty, fresh street tacos and a house margarita. The tacos are larger than your average taco truck and the free range chicken breast was moist and seasoned perfectly. We also tried carnitas which were amazing and the certified angus beef is to die for! Definitely worth every dime. The house margaritas is not some bottom shelf tequila and you can taste the quality of the fresh squeezed juice. Then owners stopped by our table to check on us and gave us a little history of the place and their Tequila making process. We tasted some tequila from the barrel and I was quit impressed. Smooth and savory to say the least. We finished up with a shot of a creamy, spicy, chocolate coffee concoction(on the house) I can’t to wait to try the rest of the menu! This type of restaurant is the next best thing! P. S. only thing missing was complimentary chips and salsa.

I hate for the first review on here to be negative. I’ll be mindful to follow this up with a positive one. Far and away the worst nachos I’ve ever had. Even worse that they’re $ 14. That’s too heavy an expectation to put on tortilla chips with cheese unless you’re confident it’s food network/food critic worthy. Pros: friendly waitress; modelo especial draft; and a lot of tequila choices. Cons: waitress remembering orders; chips; nachos; chili relleño; tacos. Prices.

Came here for a company party. Fun and lively atmosphere with the TVs playing UFC fights all night. The Manhattan drink I had was too strong for my taste. The fiesta margarita was great. Waiters also came around offering free tequila shots at least two or three times before we left. Steak asada entrée I had was pretty good. Jalapeño poppers appetizer was insanely spicy. My mouth was steaming up the glass I drank from after, trying to dull the pain with chips, rice, beans, anything around. Painful spice lasted for a good minute when I considered going to the bathroom to run my mouth under the tap and gargle. Fun place to watch sports though. Would consider coming back if in the area. Waitress forgot my friend’s order until after everyone else’s food came out though.

The waitress was taking shots at the bar, flirting with the owner/manager, who was picking his nose out on the floor. I got their spicy margarita, which wasn’t very spicy at all which was kind of a disappointment. I had their chicken enchilada, which was the perfect food portion, unfortunately the enchilada sauce was odd. It was very sweet and thick. Maybe since they’re listed as a new company, they will have time to fine tune things in the future.

Had the citrus salad with chicken. It was $ 18, once you add chicken. It was on a bed of mixed greens, grapefruit, avocado. The dressing was an overly-sweet balsamic type. It was all just okay, wouldn’t recommend the salad. It tasted VERY«healthy». The chicken was moist & tasty. This feels like part sports bar, part upscale restaurant.

Came here on a Sunday for their happy hour menu(yes they have happy hour here). It was my first time ever here so I had no idea what to expect. As you walk in, the area is very open and there are numerous table and chairs. The bar is very large, plenty of chairs, plenty of tvs for all the sports games you can image and cool blue lights behind the bar(reference my pics to see what I mean). So to the, this place is catching. We stay ourselves and immediately our waiter came to great is and asked for our drinks order. We ordered off the happy hour menu, 3 drinks(3 rounds total, one order of the nachos and order is the 3 street tacos. Let me just say that EVERYTHING was bomb! Best nachos, drinks and tacos that I’ve had in a long while. They were made fresh and the drinks had a really rich and fresh flavor. The waiter was always refilling our drinks and clearing our table. Great service! Great staff! Great drinks! Great good! Great area! Definitely check this place out if you haven’t! You won’t be disappointed!

We hung out here while our two daughters were in rehearsals around the corner. The location was perfect for us in that respect. Upon entering you are overwhelmed with the loudness of the televisions that are on playing sports. The time we were there was football. I get they are billing this as a sports bar, but it is not. It feels more like a nice taqueria and the TVs should be secondary. We watched other patrons come in and turn around and leave due to the loudness of the televisions. The small plates we ordered were fresh and good and the margaritas as well. I would only return if they adjust the TVs to normal instead of screaming. Too bad having a nice tequila grill in the neighborhood is what we were looking for.

This is a clubby bar, you’ll feel it right when you walk in. Maybe trying too hard but could justify it if they could move the tables and did salsa nights or something. Not my typical scene, but it sufficed for a group outing. Impressive looking tequila menu with personality, no cute angels working that night to customize my itinerary though =/kitchen closed at 9:30pm and the extremely inviting waiter let us know in advance. Food was OK. Typical(Mexican) bar food like nachos and tacos, smallish portions. Got a «veggie» quesadilla which is just cheese, which is how they’re supposed to be done but wish I could have added green pepper chunks or something for the pricetag. Loved the beet flower, crunchy fresh. Some of the others ordered a super taco, which came on a metal tray and had shredded lettuce underneath. We were confused if decoration or if we should eat… they could probabaly be better placed on the plate. $$ and gratuity on the bill… but we’ll probabaly be back because of the Monday hours.

I’m quite certain the people raving about the maragaritas have either a) never had a margarita before or b) are being paid by the owners. The food is mediocre at best and I’ve had better margaritas made at home. The service is hit or miss. If the waiters aren’t taking shots or drinking, they provide pretty good service. The club vibe is also kinda strange. Update after response from Edward: Thank you for the immediate response to my review. I appreciate you taking your customer’s feedback seriously. I understand you don’t employ male waiters. The term waitress is a rather antiquated term, so yes, our waiter was female, which doesn’t really make much difference to the experience. I watched my *female* waiter take a shot. It wasn’t that big of a deal, she wasn’t stumbling intoxicated or anything and maybe that’s part of the«fun vibe» of your restaurant. When we arrived, we were greeted and sat immediately. Our drinks came quickly. But after the first round of drinks were served to us, it was as if our waiter never existed. Someone else brought out our luke warm meals. Someone else bussed our table. We almost wanted to just give the tip to the bartender and busser. I appreciate that you make your margaritas in house with freshly prepared juices… they just didn’t taste that way, unfortunately.

Four stars for conception but only two stars for execution. WC is in desperate need of a good Mexican joint; unfortunately the search will have to continue. Walking in it feels more like a south beach lounge than a restaurant. Seemed pretty intriguing. Neon lights permeate the restaurant from the wall turned video screen. The lighting is super low and the music is pretty high. There didn’t seem to be any host to seat us and the bartender just yelled for us to sit wherever we wanted. Again, I felt like I was in a club. This could go very right or very wrong. We perused the large drink list and were told they have over 60 types of tequila.(Unfortunately the 3 tequilas I asked for they didn’t have). The drinks were good while being made with freshly squeezed juice. Unfortunately the fresh juice was also loaded with pulp giving a very thick taste. To each his own. Our Guac app came out and seemed to be plated rather interestingly. There was a large, flat, rectangular dish with chips and a dollop of guacamole on top. The Guac was ok. Nothing special from a spice standpoint. Seemed to be simply avocado mashed up. Furthermore, the portion was pretty small for the $$ and not having it in some sort of cup proved difficult for dipping and got the bottom chips mostly soggy. The pineapple shrimp tacos were a C-. Had someone given me one and asked what I thought was inside I wouldn’t be able to tell u. Again, very bland with an overwhelming strong tortilla flavor from the 2 soft, cold corn, tortillas. Apparently they have gotten rid of their 20% added gratuity after the flood of complaints, though the menu still shows they do. This place looked really interesting walking in and I really was hoping I would like it. I will say our bartender/server was super helpful but unfortunately the food isn’t at a level that would make me want to come back. Even the cocktails seemed like they were trying a little too hard. For me, if I’m getting a marg, sometimes I just want the large, fishbowl looking glass with tons of tequila and juice. Mexican food that tries to be a little too fancy makes me a little nervous and this place proves my theory.

Came with some friends to checkout Walnut Creeks newest spot. The bars décor definitely lends to the Miami club scene and the restaurant has plenty of seating for a busy lunch and dinner. Drinks were perfect, food was delicious, and they have the largest variety of Tequila I’ve ever seen! Definitely get the nachos and shrimp tacos! We were there for an early dinner and but the place transforms later in the evening for the late crowds. I will definitely be going to Fuego every chance I get! Oh and they have 5 huge TV’s, so add great SPORTSBAR to the list!

Went for lunch. To begin, the food, ambiance, and service are all terrific. 5 stars for each, easily. What’s not terrific though, and borders on punitive, are the hidden up-charges. First, paying $ 4 for a taco is bad enough, but when the server confirms you’d like cheese, sour cream, and guacamole on each taco … then, WITHOUTTELLINGYOU, charges you $ 1.00/taco for the sour cream and cheese, and another $ 1.50/taco for guacamole, that becomes a real problem. These up-charges aren’t disclosed on the menu either. So by merely confirming that I wanted my tacos the way I thought they served them standard, I wound up paying OVER $ 30 for a lunch of three tacos and a diet coke. Worse, they charged me a gratuity of 20% when I was ALONE, and didn’t disclose that it was on the bottom of the bill, sandwiched between ‘Subtotal’ and ‘Sales Tax.’ So I left an 18% tip on top of that. I mentioned these up-charges to the bartender(who seemed like a really nice guy), but he didn’t offer to amend the bill, opting only to explain that they were«still working things out.» My advice: TELL people you’re going to up-charge them $ 2.50 on a $ 4 taco. Fail to do this, and I’ll bet you lose your customers like a set of keys. Doubt I’ll be back.

Went to the opening last night as well. It was an amazing atmosphere! The bar tenders are fast and have the drinks on point! The food is amazing. I had the Pineapple Prawn Taco’s with Chipotle sauce. I got hooked. During the day its nice and cool. But at night, let the light show began. The light effects are great. Its not all in your face trying to give you a seizer. Playing latin themed music plus light show equals Miami. For sure this is my new hangout spot for any given day.
