CLOSED its doors abruptly on 2÷3÷09: from the website: «…blah blah, and we certainly couldn’t have made it as far as we did without you – our customers… blah blah blah. THISPARTKILLSME: If this is an emergency, please call 911. To have your prescription filled, or re-filled, please contact your doctor. We deeply regret any inconvenience this may cause you. « WHAAAAAT? This is completely irresponsible! I cannot *imagine* having to go through this. Say, you have 11 refills remaining on your blood pressure medicine. If you filled your prescription here, they want you to go BACK and make ANOTHER doctor’s appoinment(possibly) or at the very least, contact your doctor(you know how that goes, people) and get a new prescription? WHAAAAT the hell? Here is an alternative: ****************** IF you are one of the unfortunate folks who are looking for a refill of something that you originally had filled at Elephant Pharm, here’s what you can do: 1. Bring your vial(or box) of medicine, labeled by Elephant Pharmacy, to your NEW pharmacy(Walgreens, Rite Aid, Costco, Longs, whatever.) IF it is not an URGENT medicine, this is the easier way to do this. 2. Your NEW pharmacy can contact your prescriber, explain the situation, and get the remaining refills(as a ‘phone’ prescription.) Of course, this still means that you have to provide your insurance information to your new pharmacy. Please have that handy. 3. Your co-pay should be the same as when you had the medicine filled at Elephant Pharmacy. If there are insurance issues, please be patient. OMG, i just realized that Elephant Pharm pulled this cr-p in the first few days of the month(busy time for Medi-Cal patients.) Genius, guys… real Genius. CLEARLY, these people did NOT have your HEALTH as a priority, at the end of the day. No «reliable» health care provider closes their doors ABRUPTLY with no notice.

Oh my God… who the hell designed the parking lot at this Elephant Pharm?!? I’ve tried to go to this location several times and get so frustrated and angry in that damn lot that I never leave my car. Don’t get me wrong… I love Elephant Pharm, but this parking lot is completely asinine. Can anyone say cluster f*#k?

I adore this place. I decided to check it out one day after shopping at the TJ’s next door and immediately knew I would love it, when I saw they had an entire isle dedicated to cute, recycled office supplies. I’m sort of an addict. Anyway, along with really great gift ideas and many earth-friendly options they have an awesome selection of cards. I love sending greeting cards(it’s a lost form of communication) and have found many funny, creative, sincere, and beautiful cards here. Perfect for any occasion! My final rave is about their massage chair. I was experiencing some extensive pain in my shoulders and neck one day and decided to «splurge» on myself. Rather than paying $ 100 for a massage that wouldn’t focus anywhere in particular, I went to Elephant Pharm to see if they did massages on certain parts of your body, rather than just general back massages like most places. The woman who was in that day(masseuses are in every weekday at 1pm) worked wonders on my shoulders. I didn’t even realize how many knots I had, and she got them all out. I paid for the 20 minute massage($ 15), but she was really nice and gave me an extra 10 minutes. She also gave me some great recommendations to do some at-home stuff. I’d like to try the cosmetics/body care items they carry, but I never seem to be out of anything when I go here. Maybe eventually I’ll have a review on that front as well.

I love this store! They sell great products, lots of all natural and organic stuff that can sometime be hard to find at other stores. If you need help with some homeopathic or herbal supplement their staff is very knowledgeable and quick to help you get what you need. If you’re a parent, mention it to the cashier on Mondays and you get 10% of your entire purchase.

Elephant Pharm and Trader Joes, next door to one another in downtown Walnut Creek! Back in high school I spent much of my free time planting seedlings in the open space, dredging«Walnut Creek»(there is a creek, did you know that? It runs right through downtown) for garbage, pulling cigarette butts out of Ocean Beach, and other fun stuff. I was even vegetarian for a good three years or so. In the last few months I’ve gone back to my inner earth mother roots, though I doubt I’ll be giving up meat anytime soon. I recently switched out all of our bleach and chemical filled cleaning products for non-toxic items from 7th Generation, Meyer, and Method. Maybe I’m paranoid, but since I work with a plethora of scary chemicals, I figured I don’t need them in my home too. And plus– why not? Good for the environment and your health. Elephant Pharm is mother earth/flower child central, and they have all these cleaning products and more in their gorgeous new store. They have natural beauty products, organic foods, tons of herbal medications, Sigg aluminum water bottles, cute gift items, and even an Ayurvedic pharmacist. Free yoga and tai chi classes too. Thanks to Oprah and Dr. Oz. I’ve latched onto the Neti pot craze that’s overtaken the country. Don’t know what this is? See here: Whole Foods was sold out and back ordered, but Elephant had a few in stock. Welcome to my nose bidet! As Oprah would say. I had a horrible sinus cold and the neti pot, while odd at first, provided an enormous relief. My cold was gone in two days. Seriously, if you have allergies or sinus problems, you have to try this. It really makes so much sense.

Love it! This is the newest in this remarkable store’s incarnations, and more than welcome in Walnut Creek. I’m glad to see the Elephant is striving for a consistent spirit, intent throughout their empire! As I said for the Berkeley store, I go for the massage(On the Spot Massage — excellent), and stay to shop. Great book selection, gifts, cards, organic groceries, produce, vitamins, supplements, on-site caregivers, the works! You will love this place too — there are a lot of knowledgeable people to give ready advice.
