We have been using Dr. Asta’s practice for years, and have been consistently impressed by how thorough she is. Dr. Asta is always direct and her medical advice is spot-on. She is not always warm and fuzzy, but she is an excellent doctor. She does not dispense antibiotics immediately and if symptoms are inconclusive she frequently advises us to wait to see if anything changes. This can be hard for a parent to hear, but is completely solid advice. If there is not evidence of an infection, I don’t want my kid to have an antibiotic. I have never doubted that my kids are getting the best possible care. I sincerely appreciate that she is running a small independent practice despite the costs. The medical assistants know my kids. Her patients can call and talk immediately to someone. If the doctor or nurse practitioner are unavailable, they call back promptly. She has such a high rate of vaccinated patients(over 99%) that I don’t worry about my kids catching something preventable from other patients in the waiting room. This type of high quality and independent practice is almost unheard of in an age of commercially managed care.

ABSOLUTELYAWFUL!!! My 1 year old daughter was showing symptoms of an ear infection so I made an appointment. Dr. Asta saw her and said she was fine, that her tubes were clogged. She said if my daughter vomited or got a fever to call her. Both happened that evening. When we called, the Doctor said she probably had a virus and would just have to ride it out. We took her to another pediatrician who conformed she had an ear infection and noted that there was no way Dr. Asta could have seen that her tubes were clogged because they are not visible through the ear. Do your child a favor and go elsewhere!
