I have not visited the tasting room; I tasted the wines at a shop in the Seattle area. One of the co-owners was pouring. Nice owner, nice wines, pricey, nice oakey viognier.

This winery is tops. Not only is the wine outstanding, but the staff is very knowledgeable and professional. Tracy and Lynnette always go out of their way to connect with me to make sure the establishment that I manage has what it needs. My favorite here – the Killer Cab! One of the best tasting cabs I’ve ever had. It’s Narcissa red is also excellent. Stop in for a tasting at this beautiful facility.

Mm, mm, complexity. If you know what it is, you’ll really appreciate the wine at Whitman Cellars. If you don’t know what complexity is, you will after you taste wine with these guys and hear the tasting room staff describe all the flavors, textures and aroma of the wine. Another fine example of the classic and elegant wines coming out of Walla Walla. Worth stopping in just for the education, and, of course, some very fine wine. Talk to the staff: they love their wine and their guests and will be happy to answer your questions. But hey, Whitman, you’ve got a great, consistent style: how about branching out just a little and trying to tweak that perfect formula you’ve got? The wine is divine, but it’s all a bit similar in style. I’d love to see what would happen if all the great skill and talent at Whitman Cellars got a little adventurous!!! Update: the Narcissa Red blend at $ 24.00 is a tremendous value! Beautifully crafted with a lovely finish, this wine easily holds up to the other more pricey blends. With the classy label, you’re friends will think you drop big bucks on it.

Knowledgeable staff and nice wine. Skip the 2004 cabs since they(as well as most Walla Walla vinters) had to rely on grapes from other regions due to the freeze. We were enthusiastic enough about the 2005 cab and the red blend to buy a bottle of each. Worth a stop on your tasting tour.
