The food is good, but the place is pretty cramped. It’s stressful waiting for a table huddled at the door, that got claustrophobic. The people who work there are very nice

Food was greater than I expected! Service was fantastically polite! The little building has a welcoming feel and I enjoyed every minute of it. Thank you for everything!

Portion sizes are atrociously huge, but it’s wicked affordable for what you get. I wanted to try their crepes(which, curiously didn’t list any potential varieties — they told me to ‘make my own’?), but you get THREE not one per order. They also couldn’t fit a single chair more in there, and prepare for lots of yelling children at brunch. They do take reservations and call-ahead seating though, so if you know you’re heading there it’s worth the call!

Consistently best breakfasts! Delish variety of pancake/waffle specials, great coffee and fresh juices and… excellent friendly service! Also a great new ‘call ahead seating feature” * Blue Moon has it ALL!

Had breakfast at 9am Saturday morning. Crowded but not overly. Plenty of waitresses to go around. One brought us a small bowl of fresh fruit as we were seated and given our menus. We were waited on immediately, got our coffee right away(plus two refills), and our food shortly after. The eggs and my steak were cooked as we ordered them, and the steak was the best I’ve ever had with a restaurant breakfast. He had the home fries and loved them – a lot! He thought that the potatoes were of very high quality. I had the sweet potato hash, with butter, and loved it. We think that that and the bowl of fruit make Blue Moon Grill worth returning to. And the great service!

Long wait but that was expected. Food was average. Probably only coming back here as a last resort.

Not going to waste time writing about regretting not calling ahead(you should call ahead). Food was average at best, but reasonably priced. Overheard at least 4 people complain about different things around us(food, service, etc.), but the service was fine for us. Seems like a hit or miss. Nothing super special.

My husband, baby and I came in on a Sunday morning around 11 am. We called ahead to put our name on the list and as I walked in the door I heard them calling my name. Pretty good option! My only complaint about this place is that it’s very small and cramped. We were sitting directly next to a couple. Luckily, they thought our baby was cute and he was behaving himself or it may have been annoying for them. I will say, this place is extremely baby friendly. It’s pretty loud, there were many other kids there and we easily got a high chair. The food was great. I got one of the specials — the sweet potato omelet(with caramelized onion and cheddar cheese). It also comes with a tarragon sauce that I skipped. The omelet was GREAT and very big. My husband ate my potatoes and toast on the side since the omelet was enough for me. My husband got some kind of fritata that was also huge which he enjoyed. All in all, this was a good family friendly option and the call ahead feature makes it an easy place to come to. We’ll be back!

Food: 2 (Did not dine-in). My partner and I ordered food from here to-go for breakfast this morning. I ordered the Vegetarian Eggs Benedict and we split an order of the French Toast Special. First off, on the online menu, it specifically says that the Eggs Benedict comes with homefries, and there was no indication that the Vegetarian Eggs Benedict does not come with homefries. Anyway, they either forgot my homefries, or they neglected to tell me that the Vegetarian Eggs Benedict does not come with homefries. In either case, I was disappointed. Then what do I find in my Eggs Benedict? A half of an eggshell. Pretty sure Eggs Benedict doesn’t come with half of an eggshell. As far as both meals go tastewise, the food was OK — nothing spectacular. To be honest, everything tasted smokey, even the French Toast, which was a huge turnoff for me. I understand that it gets busy on a Sunday morning, but please be careful when preparing your meals, especially to-go meals. Its more of a pain in the neck for someone who takes food to-go to swing back around and get their correct meal when there are mistakes, so be careful when packing your meals, please.

Thanks to Unilocal, cause this place hit the spot. Got there and the place was packed so the wait was about 30mins not bad considering its small but really cozy. Coffee great and I got the Irish omelette and my girls ordered the smoked salmon omelette. Both delicious. I tried the sweet potato hash, I didn’t like it, the taste was bland, of how can I forget the stuffed strawberry French toast with cream cheese. That was my dessert.

Simply put, wonderful breakfast!!! When we first called to make a reservation it sounded like they were overwhelmed, but it was just that the lady who takes reservations is multitasking like a champ!!! The staff was exceptionally friendly, responsive and effective! They run a full house as if they’ve been doing it for an extended amount of years. The breakfast we had was the stuff of legend. Seriously. Their sweet potatoes hash browns are a must. They come at an up charge from their potatoes(which we didn’t try) but they’re the best sweet potatoes I’ve had ever. I ordered a three eggs and corned beef hash and the eggs were perfectly over medium as requested(not all restaurants accomplish that). Coffee refills were readily available at all times. My girlfriend ordered an artichoke omelette and called it the best omelette she ever had. Josie was our server and she was amazing and greatly attentive. Thank you Blue Moon Grill! We will definitely be coming back again and again.

My family came to Blue Moon Grille after discovering it on Unilocal. It’s one of the better local breakfast places I’ve been to in a while with decent food, friendly staff, and a neighborhood-y feel. The good: We ordered banana walnut pancakes, strawberry banana nutella crepes, swiss stuffed crepes, and poached eggs. Everything was good, but portion sizes are huge and we could have split dishes. Staff is friendly and generally attentive. Affordable, especially given how much food they give you. The bad: Parking options are limited. We had to wait 15 minutes to sit down because they were short-staffed. Overall a nice Sunday morning dining experience! I’m sure we’ll be back.

Blue Moon Grill never fails me. One of those insanely charming hole in the wall places that you just can’t resist. Their menu is amazing, the service is top notch and the atmosphere is wonderful. Comes highly recommended for weekend breakfasts.

Great portions for food, really great sounding menu with a lot of options. So many amazing sounding gluten free pancake options! Got the apple cinnamon gluten free pancakes, some of the fluffiest and overall best gluten free pancakes I’ve ever had. Comes with three large pancakes with fruit inside. Ordered a side of eggs as well. Great in terms of food, but service-wise, not the best. There seems to only be two waitresses working for the entire restaurant on a Sunday morning at noon. They just seemed spread too thing. Long wait for a table even though some were empty and waiting to be cleaned. This place could really benefit just from hiring another person. Also, the air conditioner above the door leaks on you when you walk in and is an odd first impression. There is no hostess stand so we were standing awkwardly at the door for a few minutes before one of the two waitresses took down our info and told us to wait outside. Not the best first impression, but the food was worth it.

I have been to this restaurant three times, each time was on a Sunday and I would have gone back more times if the wait wasn’t so long. There is also the issue with the parking, there are signs everywhere telling you not to park there or you would be towed so I had to park across the street about a block from the place. I don’t mind walking but the street was a very busy main street and difficult to cross. Also the wait staff is not very efficient or attentive but the food is very good so I try to not let it bother me. I ordered the crab rangoon scramble and sweet potato hash each time I have been there and it is delicious. I went there with two other people and they ordered different things and they also loved their meals too. I might try going there during the week next time.

Delicious. Took my son here and enjoyed it a lot. First of all, we lucked out. This morning they had tables set up mainly for twos. We got to jump the line outside which had groups of six and four and sat almost immediately. If you’re a red-blooded American, don’t be alarmed by the veggie/hipster choices on the table’s specials menu. Real food is quite available when they bring the menu. My omelette was huge and delicious. Cheese was uneven. As a note of style, they prepare their omelettes with a single fold, and the filling tumbling out the sides — more than other places I’ve had them. Glad I requested the sourdough toast, it was delicious. The hash browns were more hash then brown — chunky rather than crispy and great seasoning. My son loved the flavor of the crab rangoon scrambled eggs, but I agree they didn’t have much visual appeal — a little grayish with black specs. They had a great combo of crab flavor with eggs. As always a lot of people with chatter, but my soft-spoken son and I could converse easily. Service a little slowish. All in all, two very happy tummies.

A little torn here. I had the crab Rangoon scramble and a couple bites of a pancake and my daughter’s Nutella French toast and the food was excellent. Really tasty. And the sweet potato hash that came with my meal(for an upgrade/cost) was out of this world delicious. But the parking situation really sucked(with signs everywhere saying you’d be towed if you parked in the adjacent lot), the coffees was gross, the wait staff very rushy, and the food was far too expensive. And even though it doesn’t effect my rating, even the décor was drab. $ 50 for two adults and a child to eat and not even eat all that much is outrageous. Because of it I left dissatisfied. The food itself was really good, but due to all the other factors I don’t think I’d ever go back. Maybe to try and see if they fare better with lunch.

It was a lazy morning as we accompanied the Brown family to this hidden Gem. My breakfast was beautiful and well prepared. THe coffee was tasty and plentiful. I really cannot think of more to add. Dinner, good. Food, good. Coffee, good. Well, what are you waiting for? It’s breakfast o’clock somewhere!!!

Blue Moon Grill recently expanded into an older adjacent vacant space. While the place used to be extremely tight to get into(including the constant opening of the door while people were waiting), it now has a small seating area for those waiting and three or four new tables. The food is pretty good and coffee is strong enough for me. I typically don’t see that many places around with great breakfast, this place is average in some things(typical eggs/bacon breakfast) and a tad bit above average for omelettes and other specialties. The service is pretty good. Sometimes you’ll wait a bit, but generally speaking the service is fine for having so many customers. I’d recommend coming in a bit earlier in the morning if you don’t want to wait. However, you can call ahead. I’t s a nice service that they wouldn’t have to do because they naturally could just start a list based on first-come-first-serve.

Blue Moon Grill is a rather small breakfast & lunch spot on Main Street in Wakefield by the Greenwood Plaza. Parking out on the main street is limited to an hour on Mon — Sat 8am — 6pm except Sundays and Holidays, so be sure to read the signage and watch the clock. We took advantage of their call ahead seating(781−245−4470), yet we still had to wait nearly 20 minutes for the party at our table to depart — after all, the staffers could only do so much. They must be used to folks waiting, however, as there were chairs scattered about on the sidewalk before the Blue Moon Grill as well as before the business beside it for people to make themselves comfy at. Once inside, we realized just how tight the space was — they filled it with as many tables and chairs as they could reasonably. I felt like I was part of a dance as I wiggled my way through the dining area, past where the front of house staffers congregate when they aren’t out serving the clientele, and through the tiny kitchen to the single person bathroom. Service was pleasant and water and coffee topped off with enough frequency. But when we were wanting additional utensils or what not, it took a little more effort to get someone’s attention. On the whole, brunch here is a pleasant experience, but not transcendental. Yet, how often is one seeking a transcendental experience at brunch? Portions were filling. Prices easy on the wallet. Food ranging from good to really good. Sweet tooth as I am, I heartily enjoyed the Strawberry Shortcake Stuffed French Toast $ 9.50(French Toast stuffed with cream cheese and topped with fresh strawberries and whip cream) and the Banana Nutella Roasted Walnut Crepes $ 9.95(Three savory crepes stuffed with roasted walnuts, bananas & chocolate hazelnut nutella). I especially enjoyed the nice burst of creamy sweetness from the cream cheese center of the french toast and the textural difference from the walnuts in contrast with the creamy goodness of the bananas and nutella and the soft blanket of the crêpe itself. It was really real crabmeat in the Crabmeat Eggs Benedict $ 10.95(Eggs Benedict claw crabmeat, add asparagus or tomato topped with hollandaise sauce served with home fries) and quite generous at that. Though I may have preferred the Sweet Potato Omelette $ 9.95(Sweet potato, cheddar cheese & caramelized onion topped with tarragon sauce served with home fries and your choice of toast) in terms of our two savory(relatively) selections. I definitely preferred the home fries crispy over the home fries regular, but then I tend to like a bit of crisp on my spuds. It also would have been nice if there were some sort of additional spreading selection for our already buttered toast such as some jams and jellies. But I do admit, I hadn’t asked — perhaps they have some hidden out back? But only ketchup and syrup was on the table(and sugars, salt & pepper). To all that, we added a side of ham $ 2.75, which arrived as two slices, and coffee(bottomless!) $ 2.50. Yup, everything was pretty good. The only really annoying thing was the unwanted guest we had buzzing around our food. But I guess you could say we got some exercise waving it away every so often. They are open every day — that’s except for Thanksgiving, Christmas, and a week of vacation — not sure when that is. So if you have any question, you might want to call ahead to check. Note: Prices are a little dated on the online menu posted on their website.
