Great place! The fish tacos are my favorite but I also really like the veggie wrap! I like to sit at the bar since the patrons are friendly as well as the bartenders. They are good about letting you sample the wine before you decide which is nice. I will be returning soon! 5 star for great bar!

The food was awesome, the service was exceptional(especially since we were dinning with my 2 year old son) and my inlaws were impressed. Couldnt have asked for more the day after christmas!

Went to this restaurant to rent a private room for a graduation party and for a separate work promotion party for a another day. I was trying to book two separate events! The waitress went to get the manager but the manager would never come up front. We waited for 20 minutes. The restaurant wasn’t even crowded either. Guess he didn’t want my business. The manager needs to work on their customer service. I ended up choosing another restaurant in Wake Forest. They we’re glad to have my business.

10÷25÷153:30 — 4:55. Really bad management, food runner and bartender! Our server was decent but stretched way too thin.(which is where you’ll see the quality of management and the team) The food runner sat us by leading us to a table, throwing the menus down and RUNNING away. We picked up the menus and moved ourselves to a clean table in view of the games. Ran away again when he brought the food — no silverware. One of us stood at the nearly empty bar close to 10 minutes trying to get the bartenders attention. The manager also stood behind the bar and gabbed with a friend but refused to ever look around for you know, people to help? Finally at the 12 minute mark and cold food my husband went to a table where 4 staff members were rolling silverware and had to wait there for a minute and ask them for silverware. The manager was one of them. HELLO! That’s your cue to get up and see what you can do for customers!!! Hard to get ANYREFILLS and repeated their behavior exactly with dessert. Ice cream but no spoons(food runner RAN away as I was asking for a spoon) and guess what??? Went to the bar to ask for spoons — you guessed it –Bartender refused to look up. Finally flagged down another waitress who told us how hard today was while watching my ice cream melt. We did finally get some attention but only after we said we work in the industry, it’s not that hard to shut up and look up at the customers and by the way enjoy your Unilocal review! A couple of hard working teeny girls running their asses off will not compensate for a manager doing nothing to help, cutting staff to early, food runner with social anxiety and a crappy bartender more interested in getting his side work done than what any customers need.(and your Pumpkin Chesire beer was flat, always check the co2).

September 12, 2015 I took a group out for lunch… Casual nobody was in a hurry drinks were ordered started out great, good server and then after our orders were placed and it was like someone hit a switch. Food came out sporadically, drinks were never refilled, original server never came back to the table. Not the first time I’ve had this experience but hey. Food is usually good. Food was just not up to par this time. Chips were just about burned, Mac and pork was like it had been reheated in the microwave. No server came back to the table for a long time after the food came out. I’m not going back greater than 100 tab no attention and the place was not crowded. Too many other places in WF to eat at. Sadly not going back here…

After eating at the Real McCoy’s I realized that the stars of the menu are anything that was smoked. Seriously, the smell alone is intoxicating and the smoky, wood flavor makes all the difference in the dishes. I ordered the Fig & Pig, which is a flatbread topped with pulled pork, homemade fig preserves, goat cheese, mozzarella and poached apples. The smell of the pulled pork, even thru a thick blanket of mozzarella, was wonderful and the flavor was fantastic. Overall– the flatbread fell flat. It absolutely did not need the mozzarella– just a bit more fig and goat cheese and it would be spot on. The Philly was served on this style of hoagie roll that we love and my husband enjoyed it. Next time we’ll order dishes made with smoked meats, like the pulled pork and smoked chicken. Other pluses, there’s a huge, comfortable bar and the staff provides great service.

We enjoy trying new and different restaurants. A friend of mine suggested this place so a group of us went there on a Friday night for dinner and music. The food was excellent and the band was great too! Everyone in the group liked the place! Cannot wait to go again!

I was recommended to eat at this restaurant by a fellow Unilocaler. I’ve been hype to try this out so I came here with my family for Father’s Day dinner. I ordered the Father’s Day burger special called the double dad burger; which was two 4 oz patties served on a bun with smoked Gouda cheese. The appearance of the burger was superb. I was disappointed that the bun was soggy and the bacon was slightly undercooked. The meat tastes great, but I couldn’t really get over the soggy, damp bun. The burger was also not served hot. It was warm, but not hot. The French fries that were served with my French fries were kind of cold and soft. I also ordered some kind of mango rum watermelon gazpacho soup. It was delicious! My dad ordered the grilled mahi mahi tacos and he said they were delicious and that the chicken was extremely tender. Overall it was not a bad place to eat, but in my personal experience it was nothing special. I was very disappointed because of the hype that restaurant has.

Very impressed! It’s in a strip mall near Wine 101, on the opposite end from Shucker’s. Note that parking is fairly minimal for the amount of businesses, and we almost gave up on a recent Friday night thinking they had to be packed because the parking lot was so full. Fortunately, we were smart enough to park on the opposite end behind the fitness center and walk the short distance only to find they had plenty of room in this spacious restaurant/bar. We got a nice booth and a friendly Server and we were on our way to a totally good experience. Draft & Wine choices were good.(Hahn Chardonnay worked great for me. Can’t remember what Draft Husband got but he liked it). Loved the variety on the drink menu and the food one! There were several things I wanted to try(am very intrigued by the sound of Tequila Shrimp Risotto), but decided on some grilled wings with NC Barbecue Sauce with Chipotle Ranch to dip in… YUM. Also got a side salad with a super nice Balsamic. Husband chose the Bacon & Smoked Gouda Burger with caramelized onions and Fries and was quite impressed. Somehow he managed to still have room for dessert. We were told all desserts are made in house except for one, which is imported from a bakery in Charlotte… a raspberry cheesecake, and Husband had to try it. While I’m not much of a cheesecake fan, I’ve gotta say this one was pretty terrific. Surprisingly light and fluffy with a nice vanilla flavor and of course, plenty of raspberries. Note that the bar in this place is HUGE, so just guessing there’s a good shot at getting in here all the time. If you like games, the bar area has those too including slot machines! Want a restaurant/bar with terrific variety, good prices and great quality… I would say this is indeed the Real McCoy!

I notice the poor reviews are mostly from 2013… looks like this place has straightened itself out since then because we loved everything. Wings were good the peppers appetizer were amazing. Loved the fries. Gouda chicken sandwich was great. Service was good too.

Had our clubs holiday party here and boy was it a success. We had the back room and it was set up as requested. We had lots of servers and they took our orders quickly and efficiently. Everyone got their food at the same time and it was hot and delicious. I would highly recommend any large groups to have parties at this restaurant. You won’t be disappointed.

My first experience was great! I attended a Unilocal event a couple of weeks hosted by The Real McCoy and I had a great time. Lindy and I were welcomed by CM Lauryn, both owners and some delightful staff. The staff was super knowledgable, very attentive and appreciative of the Unilocal members trying out their restaurant! The staff made for a great atmosphere. There was an abundance of good to try and it was constantly coming fresh out if the kitchen. I highly recommend the fresh pork rinds and the buffalo dip. They have a variety of sauces to cover the boneless wings. Not only was the food tasty there are 52 draft beers and many of which are local craft! There is ample seating. A huge bar with table tops, an area to reserve for parties and out door seating. The best part is there is shuffle board. As a bonus the bathroom was clean and well stocked!

Just a short jaunt up to Wake Forest, The Real McCoy’s is not to be missed. They have a TON of local craft beer and good cocktails– you’re certain to find a drink that suits your needs. They have ample parking in front & tons of seating… & they even have a side room that’s great for large groups or parties. Their pint night is $ 1 off all pints, and there are 52 beers(draft & bottle) to choose from– including many local brews. All of their food was homemade with a southern flair. The buffalo chicken dip was great but their boneless wings were even better! They served up a ton of homemade pork rinds w/BBQ sauce. I really enjoyed the pulled pork too… and the banana pudding was just icing on the cake. Thanks to the owner, Nikki, and her husband for opening their arms & establishment to our hungry bellies… they’re great to talk to and take pride in what they do. I’ll be sure to come back out here when I’m back in Wake Forest :) Do yourself a favor & check this out!

Aw man… this place reminds me of home! It’s a good place to go out for the night without going all the way to Raleigh. I cannot speak for the food because I haven’t tried it, but a little birdie told me that the new owners are changing up the menu a lot. It’s going to be much more than burgers and fries. I never really thought it would be a fancy food place, but who knows? I think the new owners are going for something a bit different. When I came here, they were a rowdy bar with cheap drinks. Phew. That next morning was rough. Would I come back here? Heck yes! Especially since the new owners are cleaning up the place quite a bit.

NEVERAGAIN! Have been here a couple of times with a few friends and each time I leave feeling disapointed that I wasted my time and money. The food seems as though it was pulled out of a freezer and heated in the microwave. The servers and inattentive and unfamiliar with the menu. But my biggest complaint is about a horribly rude bartender who purposefully ignored my friend and I until we could flag down the manager and inform him that she would not take our order. She returned with an attitude and added 3 drinks to my tab that I did not order. I again spoke with the manager and he refused to remove them. What a rip off.
