Flipping outstanding!!! This is a great local spot with good food at a great value. They have drink specials daily, my personal fav is Friday 34oz DosEquis special. The table made guacamole is on point! I go at least once a month but during the summer almost weekly for Margaritas. The enchiladas Tapatias are outstanding; and if you’re a fajitas fan I always go with the Guadalajara. Haven’t had a bad experience yet, great food and the staff are always very friendly.

How have I never written a review about this amazing place. Not only is the food mesmerizing but so is is the service. Our awesome waiter Alfredo, tentatively cares for our needs and has memorized our basic order. Yes we have been here that much. So then where does one began with such a review? Perhaps one shall start from the beginning. In the beginning when God created the havens and the earth and all that was in it He declared it was good. Then God said let there be El Tapito. Yea if one should go as far as to say a taste from heaven this place is truly delicious. From the table side guacamole to the salsa and chips our start to each meal is always a highlight. Then from the overly Hugh burritos to the tasty fajitas our entrees are always better than the competition. Step aside la fiesta because El Tapito is here to stay. Finally one must argue that the fried ice-cream is a must try.

Love this place and highly recommend. The food is great(we love the fajitas!), the drinks are delicious, and the service is good. Some waiters are more attentive than others, but overall we love this place. They are also dog friendly, so it’s a great place to sit outside with the pups. My only reason for giving 4 stars instead of 5 is because we’ve had several waiters/waitresses who mess up orders. Overall it’s a great place, and we’ll be back!

Huge plates of food! Reasonably priced. Our service was a little slack. Probably enough slack to keep us from coming back anytime soon.

I really want to like this place and I’ve given them so many chances but I’m done. The carne asada burrito was full of fat and gristle that wasn’t even edible. I told the waiter but no one cared. Even though the carne was disgusting, they charged me full price! The manager came out and told me the fat and gristle is what is normally served. You served me big blobs of fat and tough gristle but then you have the nerve to tell me there is nothing wrong with it. It was inedible! That is why there are three people in your restaurant at lunch time! Terrible customer service!

Great food and conveniently located in Wakefield for the surrounding neighborhood. The staff is very friendly and always welcome you with a «hola amigos — hello friends.» The food is good quality. My favorites are the tableside quacamole, the carne asada, and the chicken and spinach enchiladas. Great drink specials too!

We had a wonderful lunch here today! Very glad to see they were so busy. This is our second time here and have decided we will return again! We sat outside on this beautiful day… the beers were ice cold, the chips warm, the salsa fresh and the chorizo dip amazing. The lunch portion steak burrito with rice was perfect size and delicious. The combo of tamal and ground beef enchilada with rice and beans was very good. The house made hot sauce was delightful. Thank you Alejandro for taking good care of us today! See you again soon…

Service: Attentive. Water stays topped off, informed on the specials, knowledgeable of the menu, and make good recommendations. Food: Pretty good. We’re been here a few times and it’s consistently been good. Table chips and salsa are good with a nice heat in the salsa. Frozen margarita is tasty and not skimping on the alcohol. Burritos are great. Atmosphere: Clean and inviting. Not too loud. Outdoor patio looks nice, but it’s been too cold or rainy everytime we’ve been.

Very quick and friendly service! The sweet tea is not tooo diabetic, just refreshing enough. I got the chicken fajita quesadilla. It was delicious, stuff with a generous portion of chicken, peppers, onions, and tons of cheese! I didn’t like that the tortilla was fried, thought it would have been grilled or panini pressed. The table side guacamole was on point! The avocados were perfect and the seasoning(salt) with proportions to the other ingredients were perfect! It wasn’t mashed tooo much either. Great place to give a try.

Just had a FABULOUS lunch here at Wakefield’s newest MEXICAN place! Great service, good prices & delicious food including yummy chips & salsa & table side guacamole made fresh! Spread the word to keep it going as sadly they get little driveby business as there are no billboards on New Falls of Neuse!

Ate there for the first time last night with My son. Food was decent– I had chimichanga and my son had rice & beans. Son loved it and I enjoyed my food too. I would give 3.5 stars but Unilocal doesn’t allow that so I rounded down bc service was a little slow and it’s not like they were busy. Staff was nice but for whatever reason, our waitress seemed to be in the back most of the time. We will go back.

My wife and I had dinner here tonight. They’ve been open for 6 – 7 weeks, and we thought we’d give it a shot – and were glad that we did. I got the two enchilada combo, which was very good. My wife got the carne asada burrito, which was MASSIVE. Seriously, it was the largest burrito we’ve ever seen. All of the food was great(including the chips and salsa, which were very fresh). The service was efficient and friendly, and the prices were very reasonable. We will definitely be coming back!

Extremely good food and service! Brand new restaurant, so I hope it doesn’t decline, but for now… Awesome. I had the flautas. So many restaurants overcook them, burning the meat. Not so with these! They were yummy, tender, and crispy all at the same time. DH had the pork carnitas and wow what flavor. My only complaint is the same nearly everywhere… Too stingy on the guacamole! Kids even ate their beef tacos. A little hard to find, I think the address may be wrong, but worth it!

Ok, now for a real review! So they just opened up and figured I would give it a shot since we have tried about every Mexican place that Wake Forest has to offer with the exception of Gonzo(which I have tried in Raleigh and not impressed). So upon my families arrival noon on a Sunday they place was empty as to be expected. My wife ordered the Fijatas and I had my beef Tacos. I also tried their frozen Margaritas. The chips and salsa I would give an average rating as I have had better. The chips just seemed very bland and the salsa had to make up for it. The Margaritas were actually the best I have tried in the area even over Las Margaritas down the road. The food is was«ok» to me not great. I was not a big fan of the ground beef they used in the Tacos so will probably try chicken next time. I will say the Margaritas were really good and highly recommend them. The interior is also very classy and not your typical Mexican themed craziness that you may get at other places. I would come back if we were on that side of town, would definitely take them over Fiesta Mexicana. So Wakefield you do have a better choice now in town. I have seen so many businesses come through that location so hopefully they can stay for awhile.

Welcome to Wakefield El Tapatio! I am so glad you decided to join us. The restaurant is beautifully decorated with gorgeous dark wood tables. And I am happy to say the food was delicious. I got the Enchiladas Tapatias which is 3 corn tortillas stuffed with queso fresco and topped with pork carnitas, a creamy tomatillo sauce and sour cream. My server was extremely friendly and very attentive. Let’s show them some love so they will stick around!!! BTW… my review us real. if anyone thinks otherwise… look at my review for Upper Crust!
