I am a huge pretzel lover and was excited to see a Pretzel Truck at the latest Durham Food Truck Rodeo. The rodeo was nearing its final 30 minutes and with no line I ordered a Gouda Pretzel from Café Prost. I am sad to report I was disappointed. The pretzel was not fresh; slightly stale, room temp, and lacked flavor. If I tried them when the rodeo first started, my experience may have been completely different. Also, I was disappointed in the mustard choices. A generic yellow and spicy brown didn’t cut the mustard for me(pun intended). I think a nice German style would be better but now I’m just being picky. I’m going to continue getting my pretzel fix at Guglhupf but I’m willing to give CP another try and hope this was just an off day. *I do enjoy Auntie Anne’s Pretzels so take this review with a grain of salt.

My entire group loved our pretzels today! They were amazing! I only wish this food truck circulated more often because I’d want to show my German friend how authentic the pretzels actually are.

Here’s the thing… their hot fresh-out-of-the-oven pretzels are magical. As my earlier review attests. But the cold, crusty cheese, sitting-out-all-day pretzels — not so much. And tragically, that’s exactly what I’ve been served my last two visits! I know it must be tough to predict volume of pretzels against crowd turnout, in order to ensure a hot, just-baked pretzel each time. But really, that’s the only way to eat a pretzel. The cold, hardened cheese pretzels just aren’t cutting it :(

Ok, to be fair, the pretzels and sandwiches are great. The three star rating is for being out of my favorite pretzel the past several times I went to order it(the guy in front of me got a free replacement pretzel, I was SOL). Now I don’t go back because of my silly principles. Oh well.

Yowza!!! Café Prost was gracious enough to participate in the Wake Forest Tunnel to Towers 5K this past weekend by bringing their food truck so that the participants and spectators could indulge in some yummy gourmet pretzels before, during, or after the race. When the truck rolled into the parking lot, my mouth started watering. I had seen them before at Food Truck Rodeos and the lines were SOLONG so I knew I was going to try out their pretzels when they were at the T2T event. I was busy helping register people for the event and had been at the location since 5am so hubs went over to grab a couple of pretzels to bring back. I told him to surprise me with whatever they had. He came back with two pretzels– one cinnamon sugar and one gouda cheese pretzel. We split them so we could taste both and OHMYGOODNESS… these pretzels were AH-MAZING! They had many choices of gourmet pretzels, sure to pacify most anyone. Nicole and Stephan are SUPER nice and so sweet to participate in the 9⁄11 memorial event. The WF community welcomed them graciously. I’m sure the yummy pretzels helped! My only regret was not grabbing a couple more of those babies to take home with us to enjoy later. Guess I need to start stalking their truck to get more!

Looking for an awesome german pretzel? Then look no further! The Café Prost German food truck is a great addition to the Triangle Food Truck Scene. I found them today parked in Wake Forest Star Mart Gas Station and had two of their amazing soft german pretzels. I had the Pesto Romano & Jalapeño Provolone Soft pretzels! I watched them come come fresh right out of the oven. They were nice and hot with a firm outside and soft inside. I didn’t even need to add mustard as the pretzels were so flavorful. I highly recommend you check Café Prost out for your pretzel fix! They are delicious.

These pretzels are delicious, and always fresh! I just wished I lived closer to Raleigh, so I could buy them more frequently.

Met Stephan in the light rain this morning at the Wake Forest Farmer’s market. Tried the samples and brought two cheddar pretzels home for breakfast. My wife and I both loved them: perfect pretzel texture, nice crusty baked cheese. Delicious!

Stopped by the WF Farmer’s Market last Saturday and found the best pretzels & cookies! Café Prost is a great addition to downtown WF– the only drawback is they are not available everyday(or maybe that’s good for your middle section. :)) Perhaps one of the local permanent businesses will be smart enough to start carrying their pretzels & cookies. I would make more trips to WF for those pretzels and cookies. The owners really seem to be enjoying themselves– which is only contagious!

I recently visited the Wake Forest Farmer’s Market in downtown Wake Forest, NC. I found a vendor called Café’ Prost that makes incredible pretzels and oatmeal cookies. I don’t normally write reviews, but these cookies and pretzels are so good that I find myself going back every week to get them. Great product! Glad to have them in the Wake Forest community!
