‘Twas me and my friend Joli’s first time here. It is located in the middle between Chun Wah Kam Noodle Factory and Cupcake And Things Bakery. As Joli and I were looking at the vast of onolicious favors on their menu outside, We noticed that you can make your own boba drink and the associates fill up your cup with the flavor you desire. I just wanted a normal boba drink so I added just the brown tapiocas. There is a variety of flavored jellies(coffee, melon, lychee) and what I like to call poppers(the balls that burst with flavor when you bite into them) — hahaha. There are tables where you could enjoy your beverage. I was overhearing a couple with a child that was looking at their utensils in which I thought was a good point. They were whispering to each other about how they displayed their spoons standing up as opposed to a downward position(people touch the top of the spoon rather than the handle). So, I hope they resolve this issue in the mere future. I’ve got the winter-melon milk tea that was onolicious, I could not finish all of it because a small cup is huge! I think I could of shared my drink with someone. :) All in all, it was very delicious and I don’t mind coming here a second time. Overall: Moderate pricing, Cute atmosphere, Huge parking lot Note: What I found interesting is that their mascot is cute purple penguin!

I was already iffy with trying out this place bc they make their drinks with powder. I prefer it when they use at least some of the actual fruit. I ordered the avocado bubble drink. It had NO flavor at all. I ended up just eating the balls. Won’t be coming back again…

It depends on who makes their Halo Halo each time I order it. But for the most part it’s really good. Some days it’s off the charts! Delicious!

Parking sucks and most of the time I’m worrying more about my car getting hit by doors because some people just don’t know how to park. Well on most occasions when I can’t take my husband’s car, I’m in and out of place like a trade wind breeze. Hula Booba is located in the Waipahu Festival Market. It is towards the back of the market so you’ll have to push your way towards the back by passing the mad rush of filipino’s and other Asians trying to get a good deal on vegetables, meats, and seafood. The Hula Booba menu items can be found by looking straight up which can give you a stiff neck if it takes you long to decide what you want to order. My advice, stand a few feet back to take a look at the menu. You may get odd stares at first since you’ll be in the middle of the walk way, but hey who cares, lol! Can’t go wrong with any of their milk teas and to my surprise, you can either get it blended or on ice. Although made of powder, their drinks are perfectly blended and the booba balls are warm, soft, and tasty. The price for a cold and sweet treat on a hot humid day is worth it if you have to make a quick stop to the Market. Although the quality isn’t there, their drinks are marked at a fair price. I do hope that in the future they’ll consider to use real fruit in their drinks.

I was craving something to drink and I knew we were going to be in the marketplace for a while. As I looked around their sign caught my eyes. After asking my mom for her flavor I walked over. It took me a while to find their menu since I have to look straight up(just exaggerating a LITTLE) and the names of the drinks confused me until I figured out what it meant. :P Debated between the coffee and honeydew for a while and eventually chose the coffee(I mean it was still early in the morning, why not). Some people had been there before me so it was a while before I got rung up and they started making the drinks. $ 3 + tax. I was hoping for no tax… oh well. Though powder, I enjoyed it. Thirsty and thinking about coffee does that to a person. Also this is connected to the workers/owner’s shop.

I love boba! The last few times that I came, they either didn’t have tapioca or they were currently cooking the tapioca :(It’s such an important component! I find that the smoothie part is always so well-made: the perfect amount of ice and creaminess. However, it’s normally a bit too sweet for my liking. A go-to if you NEED to satisfy your boba craving. I wish that it wasn’t always a mission to find parking here, though :)

I LOVE: the milktea is absolutely delicious(my top three) I HATE: that i have to fight a million filipinos to find parking, then i have to navigate through the aforementioned filipino throng to get to the gem that is hula boba. the cashiers look at me weird, because i usually stick out like a sore thumb – but then i take out my filipino card and all is saved.

Real bubble tea in the middle of a Asian open air market close to central Oahu! Glad we found this cute place on a whim… closer to our house than Chinatown. Sell smoothies, milk teas, tea, and«ice” — our smallish taro and Jasmine milk teas were tasty– a little on the sweet side and smaller than what I was use to but good* The cashier suggested honey to my Husband for his Jasmine tea which was great. FYI’s~ * Located in the very back of the open air market at a stall * Limited choices but enough for variety * Powder flavoring * Stall has a tiny dry goods grocery with great prices– we bought pandas while waiting * Because of this place my Husband now loves tapioca balls

Everytime I come to the festival market I’m always hesitant to try something at this hula boba. Everything is really neat and clean and the lady cashier’s are nice, but I’ve always got a really bad tasting drink. I had the avocado smoothie once, and I swore never again to get it. I don’t understand how my drink even came about. It was like looking at a cup of oil and water mixed together. The water and ice were sunk to the bottom and the what was suppose to be avocado, but I think was some sort of imitation powder floating on the top. I was so disappointed :( This time I tried the jasmine milk tea. FYI they use powder flavor tea to make most of their milk tea drink, not actually brew tea. I took a couple of sips of it and knew that it probably wouldn’t be healthy if I attempted to drink it all just so I didn’t feel like I wasted my $ 2.75. It was basically thick green powder, shook with ice cubes, water, and a snap load of sugar or syrup. Man, so sad. I never had the snow ice, but the one in Chinatown is fairly good. It’s probably good at this spot too, but as far as smoothies and milk tea drinks its no go for me. Sorry Hula Boba Waipahu, its just not going to work out between us.

I just moved here from Orange County, CA which has a lot of popping boba places(apparently it’s called«bubble tea» here in Hawaii). Therefore, places like Volcano Tea House, TeaZone Lollicup and Tastea put a lot of quality into their drinks because they’re hotspots. I was dismayed because of the lack of prominent boba houses on Oahu. Luckily, Hula Boba is about 50 steps away from my church, so it’s convenient on Sundays. And being located in the Waipahu Festival Marketplace, it attracts a lot of Filipino and Asian customers, who are most interested in boba drinks. However, Hula Boba cannot and does not compare to Volcano Tea House and the other boba houses in Orange County. The OC drinks are pretty pricey, but they come with quality and you can be sure the drink is made correctly. Hula Boba trades off quality for price. Hula Boba drinks are about one whole dollar cheaper than OC drinks, so I guess it compensates for the lack of quality. Also, I should note, the worker who’s always scheduled on Sundays isn’t «fully trained.» She doesn’t know was milk tea is(it is NOT a blended drink), etc. She needs to be more thoroughly trained before interacting with the customers.

I came here because i’ve always wanted to try this place out and especially to try my first snow ice that i’ve been hearing about. This place is in the new waipahu festival marketplace that is like a VERY mini chinatown with fresh fruit and vegetable vendors, fresh seafood vendors, and even other vendors that sell china town/ethnic type goodies. I love that theres a hula boba on this side of the island because now I didnt have to trek all the way to chinatown and PAY for parking because it all free parking here. As for my refreshing treat, I got my first snow ice with half passion fruit and half mango topping. This was so AWESOME! from other reviews that i’ve heard, the«ice» is actually frozen soy milk so it adds a good flavor as opposed to having plain shaved ice with topping. For $ 3.14(w/tax) for a regular, it cant be beat. The toppings were really gelatinous and thick like, it maybe a tad to sweet for my liking but nonetheless it was very good. Other toppings are azuki bean, honeydew melon, taro, and strawberry just to name a few. They even have milk tea for $ 2.75 and smoothies for $ 3. Overall I am definitely a fan and soon to be regular as I try to fill up my bonus card(buy 10 get one free). The lady that makes it is also nice so go and enjoy so cool treats with a smile =)
