Perfect ‘no frills’ hotel in West Kauai We were looking to get an early start at Waimea Canyon and wanted to stay close by. The West Inn did the trick and was quite pleasant. The woman running the front desk was super friendly and helped us check in and get situated. She then gave us some suggestions around town for restaurants, beaches, etc. There is a good sized parking lot and the rooms all share back a back porch. Our room had two double beds, a small table, tv, small outside kitchen, and pretty big bathroom. All in all, we had a great stay and it was perfect for heading up to Waimea Canyon in the morning. I would recommend for those looking to stay in the area!

OK… super late review of The West Inn. First of all, this was hysterical trying to tell people around the island that we were staying at The West Inn on the west end. Everyone’s response, «There’s a Westin on the west side?» Hilarious. This place was on point. Very quiet and clean and everyone took such great care of us. My one and only complaint, I wish we stayed for longer than than two nights. We wanted to check out all areas of the island and stayed here our first nights. There isn’t much of a nightlife scene, but who cares? I didn’t. We were so close to Waimea Canyon that by the time we left the state park, hiking on so many amazing trails, we were beat. It’s so reassuring to come to your home away from home knowing everything is super clean and you can rest easy on a clean bed. We will definitely come back and you should too.

What a gem! Super nice, laid back. Newly remodeled, clean, friendly, right in Waimea. Couldn’t have wanted anything more. Just made you feel like home, but on a gorgeous island!(It’s not a resort, if that’s what you’re looking for.) Definitely would recommend this place! Feel really lucky to have stumbled upon this place.

Great place to stay while exploring the area. Clean, comfortable room with all the amenities you’d expect, plus a sort of ‘kitchenette’ — very useful since the restaurant options are a little limited in the tiny town of Waimea. Oskar at the front desk is great! Really nice guy and very helpful. We would definitely stay here again. We really had a good time.

Great little place to stay in the heart of Waimea. The staff has a lot of Aloha, Oscar is extremely friendly and very helpful. There was a power outage in waimea town when we checked in(later in the evening) and oscar was very helpful and walked us to our room with candles and a flashlight. It was pricey($ 200/night) but so is everything in that area it’s absolutely adorable and very clean and the A/C unit was a big plus! I would definitely stay there again! Mahalo Oscar :)

Oskar at the front desk is great. He was super helpful and friendly — gave tips on hikes, helped carry bags to our room, always asking how we were doing and if there was anything we needed. Great asset to the property. The hotel itself is pretty great, too. Understand, this isn’t a fancy resort. But, if you need a clean, comfortable room, they’ve got it. Ours had an ocean view, but not all will. We had, what I believe was, the cheapest room, and it came with a fridge(w/real freezer), microwave, sink, plates, bowls, utensils, coffee maker, coffee. I think if you get the suite you also get a stove. We didn’t plan to spend three nights in Waimea, but we ended up really digging the quiet little town. And, having the relaxing hotel room w/the sounds of the ocean in the background didn’t hurt. I’m sure we’ll be back.

This was a great place to stay if you need a place in Waimea. Air conditioned(which is a must have) and clean local style looking rooms with all the conveniences such as a refrigerator, iron, sink, tv, free WiFi, etc. The best thing about his place was its location right in the heart of Waimea — all the shops are 1 or 2 blocks from the place, as well as the beach(mostly for fishing since it is brown sand) being a very short stroll away. The staff is friendly and they don’t bother us at all. This was a wonderful find online, and very reasonably priced! If we ever need a place to stay in Waimea again, this is the first place we would choose.
