This has been the worst food we’ve had in Hawaii. The fish was not fresh, several drinks were unavailable. We got fish tacos with chips and salsa. The salsa tastes like from a jar and the chips are nothing special. Not impressed.

Amazing find! Delicious coconut shrimp and fish and chips that were fresh and tasted great! Speedy service, great prices, and nice patio by the lake!

OMG this place is the bomb, we ate here quite a bit, as the resorts near by are kinda boring, This little hole in the wall, is in a strip mall with out door seats by a big fish pond, not touristy!!! I’m so happy I went

Good casual place to eat. The tables are outdoor in a gazebo next to the lake. I recommend their fresh grilled Mahi Mahi. Can’t beat the price!

This is a fast-food Fish and Chips place in an upscale outdoor shopping center.(You place your order at the window, and wait for your number to be called.) The fish and chips were pretty tasty — but the fun part was sitting in the adjacent covered lanai and tossing bits of french fries to the Koi, who eagerly gobbled them up.(If you have kids who like animals, this could be one of the highlights of their trip.) We also noticed a large sign on the drink dispenser, saying that drink refills were«$ 0.48 — and Mahalo for your honesty.»(Forty-eight cents???)

This is a nice take out counter, with plenty of outdoor seating around. I ordered the Ono fish and chips, and it did not disappoint! Will come again to try the fried oysters!

It’s decent if you’re hungry and don’t have another option. I got a fish and shrimp basket, asked if I could get coconut shrimp instead of regular, which they did for an up charge. The fries were disastrous. Stale, no flavor, no saltiness, neither soggy nor crispy. Just this sad in between of chewy and flavorless. The fish was okay. It was unnecessary greasy. The coconuts shrimp was the best part about my meal and I only received two very small shrimp(of you’ve had coconut shrimp at Red Lobster they were about half that size). I’d skip this place.

If you’re shopping at King’s Shops this is a decent place to stop in for a quick lunch. Sitting by the lake was really nice. Do not get the grilled fish and rice. So over cooked and boring. But do get the local fish and chips. Very good.

Had our first breakfast here in HI and it was good food for a good price. This is a great option for a quick meal as you order at the window and wait for your number to be called. Fish was well cooked and everything was served nice and hot. There is a cool covered lanai, with a second level with a viewfinder, next to a pond with some big carp for the kiddos to watch.

The food is edible, but barely at that. On our family vacation to Hawaii, we stayed at the Hilton Waikaloa Village. One night we were starving and wandered into the nearby shopping plaza(I think it’s called King’s Shopping?). Here, we walked through the little shops until we came across a giant sign advertising Island Fish & Chips as one of the greatest places to eat here! Hungry and intrigued, we found our way to Island’s where we ordered fish tacos and the regular fish and chips to share. Thinking they’d be different and delicious, we were disappointed when we saw that the fish in both meals were exactly the same — the only difference? One was tucked and cradled in a cold soft taco. Normally, this wouldn’t be a problem for the famished if the fish was good, but it was dry and the fried outside was thick, chewy, and more soggy than crispy. However, Island’s was nice enough to include a built-in toothpick with the large and sharp bone we found in one of the fish pieces! Unfortunately, this place couldn’t even get the fries right. The«chips» portion of the meal was stale, but hot like they tried to revive old potatoes. On top of that, the food is overpriced. I get that you are in a nice area with lots of hungry tourists, but it’s rude to advertise fish and chips but only serve jerky and leather. If you want to actually enjoy your food, I’d suggest looking elsewhere.

In a word«meh». This eatery is essentially a walk-up-window joint you would find in a million malls across the US. Ironically, the window is located within a shopping plaza that caters to the local resort community. I ordered the shrimp and chips, and the only thought that raced through my head was how unremarkable it all was. To add insult to injury it carried the resort price-tag you would not expect from such a casual, fast-food location. Ultimately if you after fresh seafood and island fare, you would be better served elsewhere!

Very nice ambient here by the lake for a quick seafood lunch. Food were very good, fast & friendly. Reasonable price, 4 pieces of crab cake for $ 7.99, Volcano shrimp $ 6.99, Mocha ice coffee $ 3.69.

Very very very disappointing Had the fish and chips, figured it’s their name sake it has to be good… nope! Lady behind the counter is extremely rude and struggled with my simple fish and chips order Coleslaw was unedible. They served me a tiny portion and at first I was disappointed at the size, but then I was thankful that I only had to waste this tiny portion of soggy old slaw drenched in flavorless goo. Fish was undercooked and both the fish and fries tasted as if they were in a bag and then dumped into oil for 2 minutes I would never return

On our last night on the island we wanted something quick and less expensive as there aren’t too many inexpensive places to eat in the Waikoloa Village area. My husband had the Fish, Shrimp & Chips combo, my son had the Coconut Shrimp & Chips, and I had the Crispy Shrimp Asian Salad. The fish was mahi mahi and while it was fresh, it included thick bloodlines that made it extremely fishy tasting, and there were only two medium sized shrimp in the combo. The coleslaw was slimy and tasted like it was made a week ago. The cabbage in my salad was fresh but it was soaked in the very vinegary dressing. My son seemed to like his Coconut Shrimp & Chips and ate a good portion of it, but as soon as he was done, he felt nauseous. He couldn’t hold it down and headed to the closest restroom. Overall, a big disappointment.

Window-service. Lakeside seating. Good food. Nice breeze. Reasonably priced. Don’t have the oysters, though. The fish and shrimp were good, however. $ 62 to feed four.

Didn’t expect mediocre sea food on the island. Came here early in the afternoon for a quick bite. Had a fish loco moco and friend oysters with fries. The fish in the loco moco was average, the rest forgettable. My wife loves oysters but didn’t want to finish hers as it tasted a little too fishy. Price was quite cheap compared to other alternatives within walking distance(Waikoloa is expensive, after all), but there are plenty of better options for fast take out food across the street at the Queens market complex.

We needed somewhere to eat after arriving too early to check in to our hotel. We walked across the street to the Kings Shops and found this place. It had pretty good reviews so we gave it a chance. The fish and chips are good. Lightly battered and crispy/crunchy goodness. Do not order anything else or you will be disappointed. I ordered some calamari to go with my fish and chips and it tasted rubbery and like it had been frozen. Yuck. Fish and chips great, two orders with two drinks came to around 27 bucks. Not bad and definitely filling. Recommend taking it to go as there are a bunch of small tables overlooking a lake but they are pretty dirty and aren’t bussed.

We found this place quite by accident. We’d seen the signs while at the Kings Shops but never searched it out. Since we had gone to a time share presentation, we only go for the prize they give you, and had Aloha Dollars still to spend on our last night we figured why not. It’s located on the back side of the shops overlooking a man made lake by a golf course. Outside seating because the restaurant is just a little hole in the wall. It was pretty crowded and the folks working were a bit disjointed. My husband ordered shrimp and got fish and shrimp. Since it was a fish and chip place, I ordered that even though they have other choices like calamari, clams and so on. The fish was very fresh and it was tasty but just a bit greasy. Comes with a side of slaw which was good but the fries were just boring. Still for the inexpensive price, well worth a stop.

Its Two Hōkū(Star) Tuesday again!!! My wahine hoahanau(cousins), wanted to shop at King’s Shops in Waikoloa, but if I have to go shopping, I need to eat. We just wish we had not eaten here. Island Fish & Chips is the only casual eating place in the King’s Shops. We ordered crab cakes($ 7.99), fish, shrimp, calamari, & chips($ 14.95), and ono & rice($ 11.95). IFC also has clam chowder, and number of fried seafood combos. The crab cakes were pretty bad. They were obviously frozen, and the filling was all mushy inside: 2 Stars. The fried platter was decent, but all of the seafood also looked frozen. In additon, the price seemed kind of high: 3 Stars. Lastly, the ono was anything but ono(good tasting). It did not have any seasoning, and it had lines on it but they were not grill marks: The fish looked like they put it in a waffle iron. Additionally, the rice was mushy: 1 Star. The ambiance is nothing. You order at the window, sit at a common area, and pick up your food when called: 3 Stars. The service was OK. The cashier was polite and the food came out quickly. We would have been better off going to the Whalers Village General Store. You know the food is bad when I would rather go to WVGS and buy a hot dog, nachos and slurpee before I would come back to IFC. IFC should stand for Icky Food: Caution!!!

Probably not the best fish & chips in the whole world, but not bad, not bad. Island Fish & Chips is located on the backside of the Kings Shops and overlooks a lake with lots of koi. There’s nice, covered patio seating and free wifi. You can choose from fish, calamari, shrimp, chicken all fried golden brown and delicious. It wasn’t very crowded when we were there at lunch time and our food was piping hot. You get three pieces of fish with your order so if you’re not a very big eater you could definitely share(like maybe two orders split between three people). The fries were so good! And I’m a fry connoisseur so you’d better listen up. Nice choice for reasonably priced food in the Waikoloa area. I’m convinced that anything tastes amazing after a few hours at a Hawaiian beach though!
