Clip and Dip All Dog & Cat Grooming

The staff was so friendly both on the phone when I made my appointment and in person. They took very good care of my dog, who suffers from anxiety and she looked great after her grooming session. I was nearly trying a new place, but since I had just moved to the area I had no choice. Prices were great and they took less time than I’ve dealt with at other groomers. I will definitely visit again!

The groomer was very nice and their prices are very reasonable compared to other salons, but it took way too long. After 4 ½ hours, I decided to call to see how things were going. She said my dog would be ready in about ½ hour. I showed up 30 minutes later and she was still finishing up. This tells me that my dog was likely sitting in a kennel for a couple of hours before they even got to her. On top of that, the cut wasn’t all that great. Also, unlike other salons, they have the reception area partitioned off from the rest of the salon. I would feel more comfortable if the grooming & kennel areas were visible.

I love taking my furbaby to Clip and Dip. He always looks great and the price is very reasonable. The same people work everytime I go which is awesome because now he knows them and isn’t so nervous.
I think overall I just like knowing he is in good hands.
I highly recommend this place!

We always take our Dogs there, the staff is always kind and helpful, they are always so good with our Dogs. One of our dogs is very nervous about getting his nails cut, he is relaxed with them, never needs to be muzzled, they use a thunder shirt and he is fine! Great job with our little Silkie Terriers summer cut and nail clipping is always included! Very happy with them!

Insult to injury… the rude owner calls me to THREATEN me to take down my review or he’s going to call humane society on me… Seriously, an apology and asking to please take my comment down would have worked better than calling to threaten me… VERY PROFESSIONAL…

3 stars for A-​OK, not exceptional. I took my labradoodle to get groomed. She had longish hair, and was in need of a grooming, but was not matted at all. I had an appointment, dropped her off at 9, was told she’d be ready around 12 noon but that they’d call me. So, after about 1 pm, I figured that she’d be ready, so I called them and nope– not yet. I had errands to run in the afternoon and I didn’t want to deal with Wahiawa traffic in the afternoon, but they weren’t ready with her until 3 pm, which was basically right when I needed to be schlepping my kids all over for their activities. That was sort of inconvenient. The price for my non-​matted 40 lb labradoodle was $ 90! Yikes! I could see that if her coat was in bad shape, but it was not. They did a decent job, but cut her way too long so instead of getting 3 months out of the groom I only got about 8 weeks before she looked really shaggy again. I’m going to look for a different groomer, but as prices are always a big mystery, I wanted to throw it out there for Unilocalers who are curious.

Absolutely LOVE THEM!!! my Curly Q was always scared of the petsmart groomers… they didnt really make her feel comfortable… i bring her here today she is well groomed and happy when i picked her up… they are very sweet and kind definately go here for grooming!!! I will be coming back.

Clip N Dip is awesome. Yeah the area is not the best and the parking stinks but they do an amazing job. Yoko always grooms our toy poodle, Hamilton. When we see him it brings tears to our eyes because he is so adorable. Even if you have a groomer that you have been going to for years I would at least try Clip N Dip once to see the difference. THIS IS A TOP NOTCH SERVICE AT A GREAT PRICE. You won’t regret bringing your pet their.

First time there… definitely not our last!!! My Oddie didn’t want to leave. He looked, smelt & felt so good. I loved the finishing touch of the Halloween Hanky. I used to have such a hard time clipping his nails and could never get them that short. I am very grateful for their services.

Been going there for years. I have two wily beasts (aka dogs) whom I absolutely treasure. Yes they don’t particularly like the grooming experience (could be that anal depression thing), but they look like dogie movie stars when they come out. I love the care C&D’s gives my dogs. I agree they are expensive, so a broke girl like me only gets to take them there right before special occasions. However I’ve never been disappointed.

Took our Zuchon, Zu, to Clip n Dip and couldn’t be more pleased. They listened to our styling request and did a lovely job on the cut as well as nails. They are reasonably priced for all that they do. We will definitely be returning.

I have a black toy poodle (names Curly) so getting him groomed is an absolute must. If we don’t, he gets all shaggy & Rick James looking.
Anyways, we’ve taken Curly to a few other groomers, but Clip & Dip is by far our favorite place to take him. Reason being they take AWESOME care of him. The first time we brought him here, we were early picking him up; as we waited for them to finish, we could hear the lady doing baby talk to him. (Super fricken cute!)
They place close attention to the fine details. His eyelashes were trimmed, the hair around his mouth was straight all around & the buzz on his tummy was perfect.
Curly has probably gone about ⁴⁄₅ times & it’s been consistently awesome!

I’ve been taking my dog to Clip and Dip in Wahiawa for years. My dog is fussy and has had occasion to bite handlers when they clip his toenails as he has sensitive feet. There is a groomer at Clip and Dip named Yoko whom my dog has never bitten. She’s the only one that my dog feels calm and relaxed with. I’ve been highly satisfied with them and will continue to take my dog there.

Terrible Experience! I was so excited to get my dog groomed here after my friend had such a positive first experience with her pet. However, I was completely wrong! The lady that checked me in (who I believe is the owner) seemed nice enough. She was nice to my dog and asked a couple questions. She seemed very unorganized, but seemed like she knew what she was doing. I had scheduled the appointment here days before the actual appointment. Upon dropping my dog off, I asked what time he would be ready. (I dropped him off early morning about 9ish). She informed me that he may be ready earlier but would definitely be ready by 2. I asked what time they closed, and she told me that they were closing at 4 so he needed to be picked up by then. I said no problem and continued on my way. My husband went to pick him up at 2:30, and the lady working the register said he wasn’t ready. He was a little confused but whatever. After an HOUR of waiting, we were informed that he wasn’t ready on time «due to walk-​ins». HUH??? So, we had an appointment days ahead of time but our pet was pushed to the last of the line because of walk-​ins. Interesting. While waiting for our dog, my husband heard a customer conversing with the owner. She asked what time they closed that day and the owner told her 5 p.m. The customer was a walk-​in. It was 3 pm at this point, so the owner said her dog would be ready within 2 hours. TWO HOURS??? After waiting 6 hours for our dog including an additional hour of what she had said, she told the walk-​in customer her dog would be ready before 5. So, basically she lied to me when I dropped of my dog about what time they closed and how long the grooming process would take. On top of all of this, they only take cash but we were never informed of this while waiting. She told us once our dog was FINALLY finished. They did a decent job grooming, nothing to write home about. We paid to get his nails clipped and they definitely weren’t. The owner isn’t friendly and LIES!!! If you do decide to try this place out, DEFINITELY DON’T MAKE AN APPOINTMENT!
Initially I had heard bad reviews about this place. Most of them just said that the owner and staff were unfriendly but very business oriented. It didn’t bother me that they weren’t too friendly (I wasn’t looking to make lifelong friends) as long as they took good care of my furbaby, I didn’t care. I was just under the impression that they were business oriented and would conduct business in a respectable manner. In my opinion, that assumption was completely wrong. Definitely will NOT be using them again!

I’m waffling between 3 and 4 stars here, so I’m gonna round up instead of down. I’ve taken my dog to Cocojor as well, and will compare the two. My dog is an English Shepherd (think Border Collie) and is no prima donna. She just needs a bath, nails trimmed, and paw fur trimmed up.
This was marginally cheaper at Cocojor and the service was very friendly. They took me on a tour of the building and allowed me to calm the pup, who is not the most social with new people. They washed her twice to fully get her clean (white fur and red dirt equals pink dog) and gave her a free cookie and let her cruise the store (behind a barrier, so she couldn’t bolt out the door) while I was on my way to pick her up. I really liked Cocojor and if I lived closer, I’d use them exclusively.
However, I don’t live in town. I live in Wahiawa. Enter Clip and Dip… I thought the initial service over the phone was merely adequate. No chit chat, no personality, all business. It was the same when I dropped the pup off for her appointment. The lady at the desk was straight business and nothing more. Meanwhile, the dog is a bit freaked out at the place and fear peed while I was checking her in. Ah, the fabulous embarrassment of a scaredy dog. I volunteered to clean up the mess and walk her to the back so she wouldn’t totally lose it, and was rebuffed in a not so friendly way that the dog would never get over her fear if I held her paw every time she got nervous and I should just leave. Great, now I feel like a helicopter mom. And I don’t agree that I am one (said every helicopter mom ever). I only step in when she is truly starting work herself into a frenzy and I don’t want her to equate x experience with y bad outcome.
So I left feeling less than pleased and mentally crossing this place off my «to patronize» list. However, there was a big difference at pick up. A very nice Japanese lady was our groomer and had gotten our girl out of her shell and made friends. Aurora was all wags and smelled fabulous. Check out was smooth and it was a very good experience. Aurora was clean, happy, and I only had to drive 5 – 10 mins, as opposed to the 2 hour gridlock I experienced on the way to Cocojor. I decided to give Clip and Dip another chance. We’ve now been 3 times and I made appointment #4 today. The service over the phone is still very business, but they will listen to your concerns (my girl seems itchy, for example), give honest feedback, and tailor the visit around them. The desk service has gotten friendlier and they practically forced doughnuts on us the last time DH and I picked up the pup. (He was eyeballing them pretty hard) My only nitpick is that they have no cataloging system for returning customers. I have to go through the same song and dance about who I am, what Aurora is, and what she needs every time I call. I also get asked what I paid the last time, every time I visit. Typically this is followed with them confirming that the price will be the same, but it was randomly two dollars more expensive last time. ??? There was a woman I had not previously seen checking me out, so we’ll see what happens this go round.
So, in conclusion… If you are a townie, go to Cocojor. If you live in Central or North Oahu, I recommend Clip and Dip as a solid groomer who won’t try to upsell you to death and does very good work.
I don’t know what shampoo they use, but I go around the house grabbing the dog and sniffing her for a few days after her appointments. :)

We had just obtained a Pomeranian and decided to get him a bath and a trim, but when I took him in they said he was matted and tangled. The tone in Les’s voice didn’t sound too happy, but he wasn’t rude either. I was thinking the worse thing to do was to give our dog a lion cut but when Les asked the groomer her opinion I was very pleasantly surprised to hear that she WANTED to brush him out and give him a trim. That gave me the impression that they also wanted my dog to look good not just do a rush job.
I am very very very happy with his cut. If I can post pictures, I will. The customer service was excellent! And my dog is very happy as well. They gave me their advice and concerns and even went as far as to give me some dog food. I am definitely going back for regular maintenance on my dog.

I now have 3 dogs… but I never needed a groomer until we got a Maltese/​Shih Tzu. He definitely pulls more of a Maltese… but nonetheless he needs to be groomed. When my boyfriend’s brother brought him home (initially he wasn’t my dog)… his hair was matted and super long. His nails were long, and he looked sad and shaggy. I had noticed Clip and Dip when going to Maui Mike’s (YUMMY!) so I thought I’d give them a try. (this is over 2 ½ years ago, first visit, but he’s been coming here every 2 months since then)
I made an appointment for a Saturday morning and dropped Snowflake off at 9AM. He was ready by 1PM. They did an excellent job of smoothing out his hair, cutting his hair, and trimming his nails. He looked ‘so fresh and so clean’!
Long story short, after about 9 months, my boyfriend’s brother didn’t want the dog anymore, so he became mine. I continued to bring him to Clip and Dip. I read some of the other reviews… and I must say, the owners are NOT rude (not to me anyway) and they have been very friendly and accommodating. They take very good care of Snowflake and he always comes home looking adorable with his «teddy bear face and short haircut».
I’ve never met any of the actual groomer’s, but I think, key word, think, the owner (female) grooms the animals as well. She’s brought Snowflake out to me more than a couple of times, and she’s absolutely sweet.
Normally I’ll make an appointment early (drop off at 9 or 930AM) and he’s usually ready by 1 or 130PM.
He smells great when I pick him up, and his hair cut is even and perfect every time. The owner will always ask when you’re dropping your pet off what type of haircut you’d like. I’ve taken Snowflake to Petco ONCE, and although the staff was friendly and the price was about $ 10 cheaper, I found the quality of the cut to be not as good. Even my boyfriend (who doesn’t pay much attention) noticed the difference in the cut. We’ve been going to Clip and Dip for over 2 years now (Snowflake goes every 2 months) and we’re completely satisfied with their services.
Yes, pricing is a tad bit on the high end, but for the quality of the cut, it’s worth it for our furry little family members! :)
I’m definitely a loyal customer!

It’s been two years since my mom and I took her dog there for the first… and last… time. The male owner was so jaw-​droppingly rude that I can feel my palms starting to perspire and my blood starting to boil just thinking about that long-​ago incident today!!! He got mad at us for checking in on our dog and to see how things were going so we could gauge about what time to pick him up. How dare! The nerve!
Without the use of expletives, all I can say is this guys\ was R-​U-​D-​E. He was so rough with us as customers (both in language and treatment) and with how he physically handled our dog that I demanded he give our dog back to us in the middle of the grooming.
I can not believe they are still in business. I wouldn’t send my worst enemy (or her dog!) there. Shame on them. Isn’t there an option for ZERO STARS on Unilocal?!!

I have taken my dog there twice. They fixed him up perfectly and called me when they found ticks (which I thought he didn’t have), offered suggestions on how best to handle the ticks, bathing, etc… But due to his long hair they were hard to locate.
I feel they are honest, fair and very good to my dog. I was suggested to this groomer by a friend of mine who also liked them, and was also referred by another friend. I would say they are a little more expensive then most, but you get a better deal with care of your furry family member.
They get busy on weekends, so make your appointment in advance. But I suggest giving a time you need to pick the dog up by (and be reasonable with your time).
PS: The owner is very dog focused, definitely not as people focused. He is a nice man-​yet a little on the pissy side to people but good to my dog. They have a long list of regular customers-​my many neighbors for one!
