Finally!!! A restaurant with wonderful Thai food and friendly service! We’ve lived in South Jersey for a little over 2 years and this is the first Thai restaurant that made us want to revisit! We ordered Spicy basil fried rice, Pad Thai & Chicken red curry! We loved each of the dishes! The husband being a picky eater, gave a thumbs up and we’ll definitely revisit! :-)

This place was ok. It wasn’t bad, but a Little Thai Kitchen is on top of the list in Cherry Hill.

First time here. Checked in around 5, definitely was picking up to be busier when we were leaving, but service was quick, polite and unobtrusive. Super friendly staff. We had lettuce wraps appetizer, tofu, so good! Try the Thai teas. Both hot and cold were great. Both our meals were amazing. Tasty. Served hot. Timely. I got spice medium level and it was pretty hot! Your first time is suggest that or even mild, depending on your threshold. I felt servings were really generous considering pricing! I was full and wanted to take half my meal home for lunch and the server was genuinely concerned it may have been too spicy. Nope! Perfect! Just full lol. Definitely will be back! What a cute find :)

I was very disappointed in the food. We had just moved into the area and wanted some great Thai food. This was not it. The staff was very nice. Our food lacked flavor, chicken wings were the frozen store bought and our noodles were dry. We also order the BBQ beef and it had no flavor. We won’t be returning

A nice thai restaurant but nothing truely outstanding I would like to go back to try their lunch special. Not my favorite spot ever but worth a stop by to at least admire their décor and try a delicious thai iced tea

I think this is the 1st time Unilocal has let me down. I really was looking forward to this place. Maybe it was an off night for them? 1st off service was pretty bad. 1st bite of food was at 30 minutes after being seated. entrees were ready at 1 hr 20 minutes after being seated. and it is possible that the poor service affected my enjoyment of the food, but the food was bland. as for the food, the wings were good. corn fritters good(just a tad bland). I love coconut soup(tom kha). definitely one of my favorite soups, but this one was bland. I love the tang on the back end, but it was absent here. my main dish was scallops in garlic and black pepper sauce. again, bland. I will stick to Bangkok City as I haven’t had the same bad experiences there. BC is not the best i have ever had but it has been better than the dinner I had at Lai Thai.

Best Thai in the area, in my opinion. Not the best I’ve ever had, but still the best I’ve tried in the Voorhees area. Usually order the drunken noodles, Thai BBQ pork or pad Thai. I’ve eaten here many times and never been disappointed. They also have a loyalty card that gets you a free entrée after a certain number of purchases. Having been to Thailand many times, I can confidently say that this is authentic, quality Thai food at reasonable prices.

I had been to the previous thai restaurant in this location years ago, which at first was very good, but over time the quality seemed to have faded. Also, most other thai restaurants in the area have gone down in quality over the years. When I saw the good review for Lai Thai, I was curious to try it so we went there for dinner last Saturday night. The food was amazing! I ordered the Tom Yum Gai(chicken lemongrass) soup and asked for it very spicy. When I received it, I thought it didn’t look spicy since it didn’t have any of the floating pepper seeds that other restaurants use — but it turns out that they used fresh peppers and the soup was very spicy as I liked — and it tasted delicious, with a very flavorful broth and the perfect mix of meat and vegetables. I also ordered Chicken Penang and it truly was the best I ever had! For the past few years I stopped ordering penang at thai restaurants because I was so often disappointed; they would serve a little bit of chicken and vegetables on a plate with a watery curry sauce poured over the top. At Lai Thai they gave me a deep bowl of thick, rich penang sauce with a very generous amount of chicken and vegetables in it. After after the meat and veggies were gone, I kept eating the sauce because it was so delicious. And the rice served with it was very good too. My wife ordered the Pad Thai which she really enjoyed. I didn’t get a chance to taste it myself, though it looked good. A delightful surprise at the end of the meal was how inexpensive the dinner was! I gave the waiter a generous tip, because I felt we were getting such a bargain, and the waiter had been so friendly and helpful. I’m glad to have a found a thai restaurant that I am eager to return to again and again, and I look forward to trying some of my other favorite dishes.

Had the spicy thai wings and would drive there just for them. Also had the drunken noodles, and they prob were the best I ever had. They didn’t just fill it with filler vegetables but filled it with the best vegetables and seasonings.

Always a good meal here. Ambiance and décor lovely, clean dining room that can accommodate larger parties. No matter what I’ve ordered off the huge menu, it’s always been fresh and delicious.

I’ve come twice in the past month, once at dinner and once at lunch. Their lunch special, at a base price of $ 7.99, comes with a spring roll, small salad, or small soup. You can then choose from a list of pretty typical thai dishes such as pad thai, pad see ew, curries, fried rice and noodles, etc. The portion is hands down smaller than what you’d get for dinner, probably about 30−40% smaller. Not too big an issue for me since I can get full off small quantities, but it’s good to know what exactly you’re purchasing. The food during lunch special is at the 3 star tier because it’s very«meh» food. Their pad thai does not stand out, has overcooked noodles(too soft), and is a little stingy with the meat. A friend got a curry for lunch special and the quantity was that of a small rice bowl and had 2 or 3 pieces of beef in it. Yes, lunch special is cheaper, but they accordingly take out a sizable amount of the food. Their dinner is of course bigger, and goes for about $ 11-$ 15. For this I got the pad see ew, and while my first impression was positive, I quickly noticed the lack of content in it. It was probably 75% noodles soaked in sauce. But besides the proportion of carbs to everything else, flavorwise it was just once again nothing to cry joyfully about. It’s pad see ew at the most basic level — you get exactly what you think you’ll get. For the culinarily desolate voorhees area, Lai Thai delivers thai food at its basic level, and I’m sure the populance is happy at the increased diversity of food options. But take this place and plop it down into Cherry Hill or Philly or any other big city and it won’t stand a chance. I’ll probably continue coming here when I have my itch for thai food, but not because of its spectacular thai food, but because there just isn’t any other restaurant offering thai food nearby.

We came for a quick lunch and had a great time! The lunch deals are were fantastic(an appetizer and a tofu curry with rice for ~$ 8), and the portions were just enough to fill us up. I ordered a Massaman curry with fried tofu, and my friends ordered the Red Curry with Tofu and the Coconut Soup with chicken. All three dishes were delicious, and rank among the best Thai food I’ve had! Additionally, the servers were very accommodating of our need to get back to work, and were very prompt with taking orders and giving us our bill. All in all, a great spot for an affordable, delicious lunch! I will DEFINITELY be back!

Ordered take out and I was thankful that they cut a cute little vent in the container! My fried tofu stayed crispy! Pad Thai and massaman curry had great flavor but was expecting more heat since I requested very spicy. I think my tolerance of spice is on the high end or maybe the NJ palate is on the low end but the flavors were on point. Loved loved loved the Laab. Delicious, fresh and well balanced.

First time trying this place out tonight. Our server was excellent, he was very polite and attentive. My boyfriend got the lemongrass soup and I had the coconut soup, both were quite good. Ordered the drunken noodles as my main entrée and I was not disappointed. I ordered the dish spicy and it came out perfect. Will plan on coming back here. Not the best Thai food I’ve ever had but a solid delicious meal in a quiet and comfortable atmosphere.

Went here on Friday and I absolutely loved it! It was only my second time eating Thai food and I was very impressed. The first time I tried Thai food it was at Samsak which was in the same location. For appetizers we got the chicken dumplings with the hot sauce and it was delicious! We thought the hot would be too hot but it was extremely tasty with a zing. We also ordered fried Calamari. We love ordering this because of the sweet chili that comes with it. The sauce is so freakin’ delicious. I wish I could find a good recipe for home because I would put it on everything. We also started with the Thai Iced Coffee which was wonderful. I think they used coconut milk as opposed to regular milk and it made one hell of a difference! So yummy! For dinner I got the Salmon Prik Khing. It was like chicken nuggets but it was salmon instead of chicken. It was something I’ve never tried before that was mixed in a red curry paste. So delicious. My boyfriend ordered the Massaman Chicken. It was soooooo good! I actually liked it better than my own. I feel like everywhere we go he always chooses the best entrée! The flavor was so delicious between spicy and coconut milk curry. I already can’t wait to go back and order it again! This place was chosen purely because I was in the area and searched Thai food and chose the one with the most stars on Unilocal. This place did not disappoint. A new favorite for sure!

I went there for lunch. Nice foods with good price. Although the service a bit slow, but the waiter was really nice. The drunken noodle & the ginger sauce stir fried chicken are really really nice, only cost $ 7.99 each! Yummy.

My boyfriend had a noodle dish and requested it extra spicy… He was not dissapointed. The food was well seasoned and delicious. The wait staff were very nice helpful and attentive. We’ve had forgettable experiences with the previous Somsak in this location(not to mention the terrible pad thai), so we were glad to try Lai Thai as the new owners revamped the space and changed the menu. With that said, the boyfriend and I have been here a few times already. Dinner that we don’t finish easily make for yummy lunches the next day. What we’ve tried so far: — Healthy Roll, $ 7.99 — Lai Thai Sampler, $ 10.99 — Crab Wontons, $ 7.99 — Tofu Tom Yum Soup, $ 3−4ish — Gang Jerd(clear noodles soup), $ 3.99 — Wonton Soup, $ 3.99 — Yum Woon Sen(noodle salad), $ 8.99 — Ped Kra Prow(crispy basil duck), $ 17.99 — Moo Yang(bbq pork), $ 11.99 — Fried Sweet Banana with Vanilla Ice Cream, $ 5.99 — Thai Tea The soups tend to be on the salty side, but we do enjoy the Wonton Soup and Gang Jerd. Other appetizers, dishes, and thai tea that we’ve had so far are okay and meh, but the one that stands out is the Ped Kra Prow or crispy basil duck. The boyfriend orders this almost every time. The crispy duck absorbs all of the secret sauce and is seriously an explosion of flavors once you eat it. Divine. The boyfriend has to close his eyes for every bite… that’s how much he likes it. Service has been great. The woman and man who are always there are super friendly and make sure everything is tasty. Haven’t tried the standard pad thai or anything else yet, but based on the crispy duck the boyfriend dreams about all the time, we will be back soon to try!
