This coffee house is poorly managed, maintained, and the service is mediocre at best. I witnessed the owner argue with a customer, my order was lost and not fulfilled until I complained, the food was overpriced for the quality and overall it just did not have a good feel. Avoid if at all possible.

Nice place to chill in general. Music was a bit loud for my taste but the setting was very homey and welcoming. Went in for a quick coffee but stayed around for the atmosphere. The plates and cups were a bit on the unclean side.

I come here only if I have to. Its always dirty, coffee is bitter, and service can be really slow. They have a habit of opening the front door and leaving it open when its still cold out. Employees that smoke will stand out in front of the open door letting their second hand smoke inside for everyone to gag over. The events are not the greatest. I usually have to get up and leave once whoever is on schedule starts to play. I drink the tea and never eat the food. Its hit or miss with its quality. I don’t recommend this place but it is pretty empty during the day if you do need a place to work.

Nice quiet place to work away from work. Service is a little slow at times possibly because there aren’t a lot of people working there at the same time. Food was good though ! I got a sandwich with turkey and avocado. I also got an iced latte that was very good!

The coffee here is amazing but frankly not worth it because of the awful service. The staff are slow and indifferent. I was here yesterday, and the young man who took my order started bagging someone else’s beans(who ordered free me) before starting my drink. Today, we’ve been waiting for over 35 minutes(verified by time stamp on the receipt) for three sandwiches. When I asked about them, the man making food in the back was surly and short-tempered w the utterly clueless girl up front. Bottom line was, they’re coming. Someday. If you are hungry or in a hurry, or just expect a sandwich in less than 30 min, stay away!!!

Today was my third time there in the past week. The food is good and the coffee. The workers are lazy, they don’t wipe the tables down. Crumbs all over the floor, floor looks like it doesn’t get mopped enough. I’ve been in there once at night and it was nice, you can’t notice how dirty it really is. Today I went in there for brunch and I guess the owner was working behind the counter, older man with dark hair and glasses. I asked for extra whipped cream for my drink and he rolled his eyes and mumbled something under his breath. He was so rude, when he came back he slammed my coffee really hard on the table, gave me a dirty look and walked away. My boyfriends coffee wasnt even hot but my food was good. I was really excited about this place because it’s right around the corner from me but I will no longer be giving them any of my money thanks to that guy !

Went in here, waited almost 15 minutes to get a coffee. There were two workers behind the counter and one of them was literally just standing there. I usually never criticize places or anything but I had to after this experience. And after all that was said and done I got my coffee and it was cold. Terrible. The only good thing is that the coffee does taste good. They should consider refraining from having high schoolers run a shop and have someone more reliable and responsible.

Yikes. I literally grew up in this coffee house. This place used to be my «go to» to get some Joe or meet up with friends and people watch. Not anymore. I do like their food(when it comes out), but the service is the worst you can possibly imagine. Came here last Sunday and waited an hour for lemon bar and a baked potato with sour cream and butter. It was on their board as a loaded potato special. With fancy chalk and all. I thought this was the easiest thing to make. Especially since I didn’t get the bacon on it. I had to ask 3 times where it was. «It’s coming, they had to bake it.» What? They aren’t already baked? It’s a special. I don’t have an hour to wait for a potato to cook. Microwave that shit. Had to ask 2x for the lemon bar that was lonely on the dessert shelf. I almost want to bring in desserts so they have a shelf that deserves that label of being called one. Meanwhile I wish I brought my headphones… listening to some horrible concert of pre-teen pageant girls that literally had 20 different girls back to back sing Christmas songs that couldn’t sing for the life of them. Parents with proud faces listening to screeching cats. ugh nearly barfed, but i had no food to throw up. I was starving by this point, so I kept the lemon bar down… Still waiting on the butter and sour cream that never came. I guess they lost a customer, but maybe it doesn’t matter. I was never truly a customer in their mind.

It’s a cute coffee space inside — I was kind of surprised how big it was because it doesn’t appear that way simply by walking or driving by. The coffee was not bad, the price was good, and there was ample space for seating. Although I didn’t try any of the food, the other orders that were coming out there and look lunch worthy.

I have not been here since last summer 2014 since I moved, but I used to work nearby so I frequented this café often. It’s also near a movie theater so I think it’s great for dates for young couples. Their vanilla chai latte is great some of the time and lukewarm other times. I’ve also had some of their desserts like lemon cake, and even their Tuna sandwich which was dry overpriced and not recommended. Staff have been very friendly from my experience there. They have a lot of events here, which I really like. For example, they had karaōke Sunday, open mic night, and my favorite: live jazz. I came here by myself and with my boyfriend and I feel it’s great for an evening out to listen to some live jazz. I really enjoyed the Sunday karaōke(entertaining!) and open mic night(some ppl were very talented!) A lot of the customers I saw were young, hipster types. Overall, for its location in a jersey suburb, coffee works is a great gem. I think it’s great for younger people to go to like myself.

You know I really used to love this place… That is until I met the owner. He is very creepy, and treats the stage performers very poorly. Last night(July, 22, 2015) I watched — with the rest of the customers there — as the owner stopped the band mid song, and yelled at them loudly about how they weren’t getting paid again because they didn’t bring in a crowd. Last night was my last visit to Coffee Works. I will be taking my money else where.

Meh… one of the two bathrooms needs some serious renovation(and I mean beyond a good cleaning) AND on my most recent visits as of late the dessert case was 70% empty. Really? You’re a coffee house… where are the desserts?

My friends and I loved coffee works to study and grab a drink. They are pricey but all independent coffee shops are. I enjoy their latte and specialty drinks more than their coffee. I have ordered a cup of coffee a few times. Their coffee seems to be either old or too bitter each time. I normally drink it black with some sugar but just to enjoy it I felt I needed some sort of dairy. Still a great environment especially with the local artists. I love to support this place.

Horrible! Food never came out. When finally did was wrong order. Owner blamed computer systems and did not look like he was in control. He ended up giving me a $ 10 gift card. I spend $ 13 so it was still a $ 3 loss. Will never go back. There are much better places. When you are in a competitive market you need to compete. This place won’t stay in business long. Rude waitstaff.

Above average in every way. Drinks come out hot and consistent(I’m a tea guy) and light noshes are fresh and enjoyable(I had pie most recently.) I wish I were more of a night owl because they have events here at night(open mic, etc) that suggest a commitment to community that makes me happy. The cavernous space can seem empty at times when it’s not busy. Impeccably clean restrooms, hip atmosphere, efficient baristas. I’m sold.

Great tasting coffee. The place is a quaint and comfortable place to chill and relax on the weekend. They have acoustic performances every weekend. Some are much better than others, but always fun. The best sandwich is the Tuscan Chicken. The owner seems like a funny, nice guy too. Love this place!

This is probably the only coffee shop in voorhees that isn’t starbucks. It reminds me of high school. A lot teens hangout here sometimes. I like their drinks for the most part. But, their food is a hit or a miss. I think I got an avocado BLT once here, and the avocado was definitely not fresh. It was brownish-green. Also, I wonder how the baristas try to be sanitary ever since I saw a barista touch tea leaves with the same hands he used to receive cash. Hence, I just order something simple where I know they won’t do too much handling. I enjoy the couches and live music now and then.

I stop here often in the morning on my way to work. The have fresh roasted coffee which is roasted in house and homemade baked goods. I have only had positive experiences both with the coffee, food and with the friendly service. They run specials in the morning and you can get a large coffee for $ 1 many times. Great deal. It’s tough to find local coffee places in south jersey with dunkin donuts and Starbucks everywhere. I hope this place sticks around.

Went for coffee and got some desserts as well. The gluten free brownie was disgusting. The chocolate cake was blah. The coffee was ok. Nothing that awesome to make me want to go back.

This place receives a three stars mainly because the customer service and the drink were good. I had my first espresso shot and it was pretty good, nice and strong. Next I ordered a vanilla chai latte and I was amazed that they used Tazo tea which is one of my favorite brands!!! The servers were great and checked on their customers. I ordered the Caesar salad and the salad was okay… the croutons were hard as a rock! The place loses two stars because the cleanliness of the facility. The place was beyond filthy!!! I seen the dirt on the floor and the tables were dirty. I just couldn’t with this place! The décor was really interesting… I came in thinking this is the café bar off of Friends. with Feebie singing ‘smelly cat.‘ Overall a good experience, just needs to be cleaned up…

Coffee Works reminds me of high school simply because this was a local hang out for my friends and I when we were younger. I am glad to see that a small business like this is still thriving after all these years. When I was younger I didn’t care for coffee but I always ordered a hot chocolate and looked forward to the gigantic squares of Rice Krispie Treats. 10 + years later(eek!) I stepped into Coffee Works and it was just as I had remembered. Coffee Works tries to go for the«Friends» coffee house feel with comfortable couches, tables and a stage for open mic night. It was mid-afternoon and there were only a few people sitting reading newspapers and working on their laptops. I was in a rush so I ordered a medium Latte to go. The latte was delicious and the perfect amount of sweetness. I eyed up the ginormous Rice Krispie Treat that I used to eat all the time but realized I was gaining weight as I was looking at it. Maybe next time. The only thing that would make this coffee shop better is if Phoebe Buffay was playing«Smelly Cat».
