Unfortunately you have to choose at least one star or else I would have went with nothing!!! First time trying it since its been under new owner ship. The sushi was okay. But my sister ordered Mongolian beef and the it came with barely any beef and an insane amount of jicama so much so that it filled a plate(we picked them out) we talked to the waitress(Selena) about it and she was extremely rude and waved us off as she walked away to get the manager. The manager who was polite asked if we wanted more beef(but we declined– don’t want to run the risk of intentional contamination). Needless to say I will never come back here again. I will only go to the original ownership in the Voorhees town center!

White linen tablecloth, upscale. In the Ritz shopping center. Excellent Sushi and also Asian/Chinese. Elean is the owner. She likes foodies. If you sweet talk her, they will even make you something not quite on the menu. Honey Walnut Prawns a specialty. Highly recommended

Not really good. The first two things I ordered weren’t available. We had multiple servers which was confusing. Bill was incorrect and no apology offered. Went because of Groupon. No plans to go again. The prices are too high for the food quality and level of service.

I don’t know where these 1 star reviews are coming from, and I can be a real C-U-Next-Tuesday when it comes to crappy food and crappy service. Granted, I wasn’t ever here before the place was sold, but an $ 80 groupon that I paid $ 44 bucks for lured me in. Facts: 1. I wouldn’t pay full price to eat here; the menu prices are definitely over-inflated by about 20−25%. 2. My service was 5 stars. The one server literally ran the room I was in by herself. Would I have preferred a little more attention? Sure, but it was a Saturday night at 8 pm. I saw my server maybe 10% less than if there were 3 of her, so mad props. Whoever said they were cramming people next to each other instead of spreading them around the restaurant, clearly knows nothing about the restaurant business. 3. None of the Grandfather’s chicken was grisly, but it wasn’t all white meat either. Regardless, my kids loved it. My 11 year old said the pork fried dumplings were«stellar» and«the best she ever had.» The 14 year old was even impressed with the stock molten lava cake. The Orange Beef was 7⁄10 and my sushi special was about the same. 4. All the food was solid; Bourdain isn’t coming here, but it’s definitely not a 2.5 star restaurant or whatever these newb Unilocalers are giving it. Take-out quality? Uhm, no. And I live in Collingswood, where the take-out competition is fierce. The higher star ratings come from people who Unilocal a lot, so I wonder the validity of some of these awful reviews from people who have like 5 reviews. 5. They need to clean their acts up a little to get better reviews, but that seems like a management issue. The menus were old, sticky and whited out, and the bathrooms were a bit messy. 6. If you have a groupon or Unilocal coupon, don’t be afraid to hit this place up. After reading the reviews, I almost let mine expire. Glad I didn’t!

This place is horrible. Both of are waiters were stoned, and the food was atrocious. The napkins were so old the looked like old rags used to clean the floor. Never eat here! Go to Town Center and eat there.

We arrived here around 8:40 at 9:00 pm we were walking out without eating a bite. It is now 9:20 and I’m writing this from another restaurant in the same shopping center. Although there were only two tables ahead of us after 20 minutes our drink order was only taken. The waitress constantly walked by and never even looked at or acknowledged us. By the time we left three other tables had arrived, she’d open the wine bottle for one and was filling the water for the other tables. Clearly multi tasking isn’t her strong suit.

Didn’t meet expectations at all. Couldn’t eat the salad. The dressing was horrible. The guy forgot to serve the lemon chicken sauce! The chicken was not cooked well. Overall it was a bad experience. Too expensive for the quality.

Terrible. The food was on the level of a Chinese restaurant on a corner store in an urban neighborhood. The price, however was not. Super expensive for quality of food and ambience. If I had paid full price, I would be soooo mad. Felt I was ripped off even using s groupon. Service was horrible. We didn’t have straws for at least 30 minutes after we sat. Flies were all over the restaurant. The grandfather chicken had plenty of gristle instead of white meat. The lettuce cups were inedible. Dessert was microwaved and tasteless. Go to the one in the Voorhees town center. We ate there a week before and the experience was the exact opposite. Good food, attentive service and so much better. While we were«eating», another patron was complaining about the food, also. Avoid this place at ALL costs. There is a reason this place is constantly on groupon and living social.

I used to love Chez Elena Wu, but now that it is a different owner, it just isn’t the same. The sushi was decent, but my mother ordered the pork-fried rice, and it was so insanely salty. She was struggling to eat it, and one waiter noticed. The(maybe?) manager came by, apologized, and brought my mom a new one. The second dish was almost the same — too salty to enjoy. They did not take the dish off the menu, even though my mom barely ate the second dish as well. Maybe something was off with their seasoning for that night, but I’m surprised they did not try the food as well. I hope the restaurant picks back up again.

The food was excellent!!! My son had the grandfather chicken. My wife had buddhist delight and I had the pineapple chicken. We had the Chinese pizza for an appetizer. It was pricy but you definately get what you pay for.

I had heard that one of the Elenu Wu’s was better than the other. This one is definitely not good. I went with my boyfriend and friend as I found a groupon online. The dining area was about half full. Our waitress was nice, brought us water. Came back in a timely manner and began to take our order. We were all ordering the three role special and getting different roles. She was not taking notes and had to come back to write them down. Two minutes she comes back to fill out water and says it will be about 15 minutes. Ok no problem. Literally a minuted later she comes back and says she will go check on our sushi. Then we did not see her for 20 minutes. Finally she brings us our rolls, all of the plating was correct but she gave us the wrong plates and was trying to convince us that we all had eel which was false. She leaves and we sit there for five minutes without chopsticks or soy sauce dishes. Finally my friend goes over to the waiter station and retrieves them for us. Sushi was decent, especially for the price of the 3 role special. Nothing amazing but good. We again wait a while for our check, again wait for her to process my groupon and then again wait before we realized we had to go up front to pay. In the meantime, the head lady(im assuming elena wu) has yelled at all of her employees, blamed things on them in front of customers, tells people on the phone that they are very busy and they should come later(dining area only half full) and is generally unpleasant. Not a fun dining experience.

I met a friend here for dinner last week. Being new to the area, I accidentally stumbled into the other Elena Wu in Town Square. Boy, do I wish that was the one my friend had suggested instead! While not totally horrible, it was a far cry from the best sushi I’ve ever had. The prices weren’t bad at all, service was decent, and it’s BYOB. I ordered the three roll combo with shrimp tempura, yellow tail, and sweet potato rolls. The yellow tail was a little fishy, shrimp tempura was good, and the sweet potato was a little bit crunchier than I’m used to. The shrimp wonton soup was good. One more thing to note — there was no music, no tv, no background noise whatsoever in the restaurant. And although it was pretty empty, the hostess kept sitting all the patrons near one another. So everyone could hear everyone else’s conversations all night. A little awkward. All in all, you get what you pay for. Would I return? Maybe, but it definitely wouldn’t be anywhere near the top of my list.

DISCLAIMER– I work in the industry. I understand good days and bad days, FOH and BOH issues, and all the other unfortunate mishaps that can occur during service that affect a diner’s experience. With that being said, I’d like to share the worst restaurant experience of my life. My girlfriend and I decided to celebrate Valentine’s Day on Sunday, because I’m a server and taking off a Saturday night is financial suicide. I’ve been to Elena Wu in the past, and their Mount Laurel location is one of my favorites. I’ve given this thought, and I think the easiest way to express what went wrong would be in list form. From beginning to unfortunate end. 1. We arrived for our 7:00 pm reservation and were told by the management to please take a seat in the lobby area, while they got their affairs in order or something. I don’t know. There were like five tables sat in the restaurant. They finally sat us at 7:20. 2. Our waitress finally came over to greet us at 7:30. Filled up two water glasses half way and dropped a wine key so I could open my own bottle of wine, presumably. 3. 7:40, our waitress comes over to take our order. «I would have opened that!» she says, referring to the bottle of wine I opened myself ten minutes before. We place our order. Sushi as an appetizer, honey walnut chicken and roast duck as entrees. My girlfriend asks for a side of ginger dressing. 4. 7:55, our waitress tells us our sushi will be right out. 5. 8:00, my girlfriend’s honey walnut chicken is dropped on the table. The chicken is half cold and the sauce has way too much mayonnaise in it. Patience beginning to run thin. 6. 8:10, my duck arrives. «That always takes a while,» the waitress giggles. The duck is ok but the vegetables are shriveled, like they were taken off the grill twenty minutes before the food came out. Wouldn’t surprise me. 7. 8:20, the sushi, which was ordered as an appetizer, arrives. Half the order is screwed up. Our Valentine’s Day dinner conversation has turned from each other to disbelief at what we’re experiencing. 8. 8:30, after asking twice, the side of ginger dressing is brought out. The sushi is good. I don’t even want it anymore. Literally, every single aspect of our service was terrible. Everything. I know how hard service can be and when it’s terrible, I look for excuses because I know there usually is a reason behind it. This was an exception. The restaurant was mostly empty. Our order was given crystal clear. We made reservations. Yet Murphy’s Law took full effect on our experience. Every single aspect of our night out that could have gone wrong, went wrong. They even forgot to take the sushi that they screwed up off our bill before it was dropped! I will never eat here again. I’ve had better service at the DMV. I wish I was joking.

My family has been ordering take-out from here for several years. Lately, service has been awful. Tonight was especially awful. First, my uncle ordered a combination sushi/sashimi platter. It did not come with chopsticks or soy sauce and also lacked an abundance of ginger. It was a missing small order of soup. Six other people ordered Chinese food and we were only given 1 order of rice. When my mom called back, they were very nasty and did want to credit us for the missing pieces of the order. To top it off there were not enough fortune cookies. We will not be going back!

Not what it once was(apparently). I use to come here for the gluten free entrees however the last few times I have ordered they have been soggy and overcooked and tasteless. The new décor has a strange mix of neon lights at the sushi bar and out of date ballroom furniture. There was no music or ambiance with the exception of a nickelodeon teen show on at the bar and two teenagers running around the restaurant. If I wanted to watch bad tv I would have stayed home. I said it the last time I was here but definitely now, never again.

This restaurant is NOT the same as what I remember from years ago. Uninviting décor. Huge disorganized menu. Soups brought out separately. Overcooked scallops. Veggies fresh. Ordered 2 special rolls; received 1. After complaint, 2nd roll brought. Ingredients in roll were not exactly what was listed on menu. Was told sushi chef was new. Waitress nice but seemed new. Unpleasant dining experience. We will not be back.

Went for Xmas dinner here last night and it was a disaster. The whole place was disorganized. Orders weren’t placed correctly. Food was brought out to wrong tables only. I don’t think any of the patrons were happy. On the plus side the food tasted okay(when it was finally brought out). I noticed they redid the front of the restaurant and made it into more of a sushi bar. $ 25 all you can eat sushi was a plus too. Service was just too bad for me to ever see myself going back anytime soon though.

Nothing extraordinary here. Service was terrible, orders were brought to wrong table My friend waited 20 minutes after my food was served for hers Mix up on check, charged for soup that came with dinner and staff arguing in front of customers. Prices not worth all this. This was my first and last visit here. The customer is not right in this establishment!
