This place is terrible and the food tastes old. As soon as you get close it smells like week old oil. It is obvious that quality is not a concern for them. I would never eat here!

One of my favorite taco shops in North County. I grew up eating Colimas down in Bonita and now living up North, this location feels the gap. Don’t be shy to ask them to make you something off the menu either. Amazing food, and almost always consistent good service.

My friends and I found a LIVE WORM in the carne asada nachos. We went to ask for a full refund on the whole order because we obviously lost our appetite after seeing that. When we came in and told them what we have found and asked for a full refund, we did not get an apology at all. Instead, they expected to only refund us only for the nachos because the worm was found in the nachos and not the other food items. We had to tell them once again, that we lost our appetite to the point where we didn’t even get to eat half of our burritos, so we deserved a full refund on the whole order. It was a disgusting discovery to see that in our food and to experience such poor service in trying to fix the problem.

Menu is pretty diverse, they even have french fries, hamburger choices. I ordered the Carne Asada Burrito. Big portion, decent price. Meat was good and wasn’t rough or hard to chew. There’s a bell at the front you can ring to order your food if you don’t see anyone at the front counter. Hortchatas, and soda machines next to each other. Salsa bar has to go red/​green sauces, lemons, carrots/​onions, grilled onions, plastic bags etc. I ordered Carne Asada fries for my husband to go and he said the meat was good, and had a lot of flavor. Great Place!

Sooooo 1st time I tried to eat here there was a dude who had just gotten stabbed in the parking lot, needless to say I wasn’t able to get my burrito fix that night. Despite the aura of danger now surrounding the place I decided to try it again and I was happy I did. They have a great salsa bar with marinated carrots and cucumbers to your hearts content. The food is made fresh and quickly and the staff is super nice, last time I went I was eyeing the banuelos, the cashier noticed and gave me some on my way out. The portions are big and they are adventurous with their food which goes far with me. I’ve had the cali burrito and the surf and turf fries, I think I’ve had better carne asada fries but the addition of the huge shrimp sauteed in chipotle sauce really took it over the top. Next item I’m going to try is the pulpo (Octopus) burrito and I can’t wait.

Colimas is the first place i have ever had real Mexican food. I have been coming here for years. By far the best bean, cheese, and rice burrito around. If you are a volume eater you will be happy to come here. Their quesadillas are absolutely tasty and large. Their best quesadillas has to be the carne asada quesadilla. Also their salad is pretty tasty. If you want really hot salsa go with the green sauce and if you want something not as hot go with the red sauce. Their carne asada fries are a very healthy portion and if you aren’t a big eater there is enough for two people!

Colima’s Mexican Food is confusing in a good way — there are so many great meal choices on their menu. They have a big picture menu display listing the name & number of your choice which is great for me as I like to see a picture of what I’m ordering like Sushi Roll pictures. The restaurant is big with lots of table seating. The flooring is painted concrete a bit beat, however it works with the classic décor with old time black white photos framed on the wall. Big screen TV on the wall playing sports channel. They serve beers too if your here dinner time or just want a beer with your meal. I like this place!

Worst Caldo I’ve ever had. Roughly chopped up onions and tomatoes and a few pieces of shrimp in tasteless red coloured water. With it comes reheated store bought tortilla tough as leather. I could make it better and I’ve never made anything Mexican.

This is the only taco shop that has not let me down! The burritos are huge! I get the shrimp burrito and the shrimp they use are on the bigger size which is nice! They also make sure to give you a decent amount as well. I just wish they had a drive thru!!!

Best breakfast burritos!!! Got pozole this morning since it’s raining and got great service!!! I got everything I needed to put in the pozole!!! Such sweet guys and great service!!! The food was even better :)

They now offer potato tacos! Either regular corn tortilla tacos or rolled tacos. Now I have a vegan option that’s also gluten free. I order them with lettuce and guac and then drink up their hotsauce like crazy! Thanks for being one of only 3 places in Oceanside with fast food potato tacos. Yours are right now the best for a fast food chain!
*BEWARE if you have celiac disease, there will be cross contamination. Probably stick with tamales without the sauce or enchiladas. I just can’t eat those because I cannot have cheese or meat due to antibiotic/​penicillin severe allergy (and that’s any restaurant for me now). The shells on these tacos are fried. I did have gluten reaction. But I’m not letting that influence the star rating because that’s the known risk I took. We still love this place.

I’ve seen this place for a long time as I’d drive by but have never stopped in. Well now I kick myself. It’s pretty darn good. I got a breakfast burrito (with bacon AND sausage) and it was really good. The taters were cooked without being mushy or hard and they use real potatoes NOT french fries!!! The burrito was hot, huge and tasted great! I’ll be back to try some of the other items on the menu soon.
The only downside is the shopping center is a little odd and not so friendly for entry and exit. They’re a little pricey too… Good but not cheap.
They’re salsa is not too bad… good flavor and a little heat but not overpowering. A little mild for my taste but I like mine really hot.
They have plenty of seating for large groups and a tv or two incase you’re there with the in-​laws and don’t feel like partaking in conversation… Just saying.

Only cause I was starving I stopped here. Almost 8 bucks for a burrito? Hay yay yay… como me duele! Check out the quart of rice for almost 10 bucks … needless to say… I’ll never be stopping here again. Good bad or ugly. I hate being ripped off.
