Velouria Records

I just started getting into vinyl about 4 months ago. I heard about this place from a friend and now I can’t stop giving these guys my money. The selection is pretty good from the oldies classics to the newer bands and artist of today. I have also found some new music that I never would have been introduced to had it not been for this place. I love going to Velouria Records and finding a new album i have never heard of before then going home to give it a spin realizing I just found a new treasure. Thanks guys for your hard work and dedication to this little community.

Pretty good shop, has a very big selection of vinyl! Plenty of rock vinyl and C.D.‘s. The selection is alright, there wasn’t any metal there from what I saw. Not really a store that carries very heavy music. But good nonetheless! The staff are awesome and friendly! I after I bought my things, I ended up talking to the cashier for about an hour. Awesome, would go back again.

I LOVE Velouria Records! Great Vinyl selection old and new. I was looking for something specific and could not find it. The owner Tawnya took my number and I special ordered it for me! Awesome customer service and fun store to browse in on Main street. Their logo is pretty cool too. I got a tee.

In der nächsten größeren Stadt zwischen Kings Canyon und Sequoia National Park befindet sich Velouria Records, ein kleiner, aber feiner Plattenladen. Die Atmosphäre ist freundlich und es gibt einiges auf Vinyl und CD. Mehr Pop, Rock, Jazz und Alternative, weniger House und Hip-​Hop.
Parkplätze gibt es direkt vor dem Geschäft in der Main St, sowie um die Ecke an der Ecke (East) Center Ave und (North) Court St. Ein Laden mit guten Sandwiches liegt schräg gegenüber.

Velouria Records on Main Street is a music lovers dream. For those of you who dig, you’ll be amazed at what you find. The owner, Tawnya Zito, keeps up with the new and the classics, in all music genres. Oh, she’ll also order stuff for you, which is awesome. She also showcases local artists and puts up a monthly window display that you’ll laugh and shake your head at. Velouria is awesome and I’m so glad its here.

Great used vinyl selection and a pretty darn good new selection also. Picked up a few old standards and a killer new otis redding classic. Another thing I like is that the guy behind the counter didn’t have that I know everything about music and your taste sucks attitude you get at some record joints. Even looked through the used cds and found some gems. I will deffenently be back.

If you are looking for great vinyl, used cd’s, or a place to listen to some live local talent there is no where else in the valley where you should look.
I appreciate that if they don’t have the vinyl you are looking for (which is rare), they will get it for you.
Suggestion: Friday night grab some dinner on Main St, then walk down to Velouria and listen to some great live music for free.

This is a great record store. Tons of vinyl, nicely organized, and all for a fair price. Additionally, it is by far the cleanest record store I have ever been to. They also clean, sleeve, and grade every record before selling. I like that the prices are adjusted according to the record’s condition. This does not happen at all record stores.
I have to disagree with the other reviewer a bit. First of all, the shop does have CDs. They mostly have used CDs. According to the shop owner, the store is moving to used CDs and away from new CDs. They also carry tapes, posters, patches, pins, and all kinds of other music related memorabilia. With this being said, it is primarily a record store. The majority of what they have is records. I have found some great CDs there though and for a very good price.
They also have frequent live shows that are always free. I’ve seen some very cool bands there before. This is a great place to shop and hang out.

The best thing about Velouria records isn’t their selection (which is great), their prices (which are beyond reasonable) or the quality of their records/cd’s/tapes (which is first class). The best thing about Velouria is the experience, and the satisfaction of walking out the door with new (or new to you) music with which you will be beyond satisfied. For record store enthusiasts, Velouria will meet all your needs. For the novice collector, or even window shoppers, also great. No pretense, a great, knowledgeable staff, and tons of music — Velouria is where it’s at.

I love record shops, so by default, I AM A FAN.
It’s a small little shop, mostly vinyls… don’t go here if you’re looking for CD’s. There were some CD’s, but of local groups.
I spoke to the shop owner (?). It’s always exciting when you’re speaking to someone passionate about what they do and why they do it.
Very much looking forward to going there again soon :)
