Game Qore

Love this store. Such a great selection of board games and awesome customer service. I went in a while back when it first opened and picked up a dice game, it was a nice store. I hadn’t been back in a while, cause I’m not from the area. It was even better this time around. Picked up a couple games, LotR deck building games. Spoke with the owner about some other games that I might like too.
The layout of the store is better now and it looks like it’s getting some more work done in the back where there are tables for game play. I’ve bought board games online and paid less, but I haven’t been as happy as when I get some insight on the game I’m buying from someone, like I did here. I’ll pay the extra for the customer service.
They also do a Thursday night board game night in the store. They have lots of games to try there or you can take in your own of you desire.
Nice place to check out of you’re in the Visalia area and you can walk around downtown while your at it. My kids liked checking out the games the too. Most of the games are for teens to adult, I’d say, but there are a good amount of unique family games also.

This is a hidden, little gem in the heart of Visalia’s downtown area. I came across it as I was just walking around, trying to kill time while waiting for another place to open. The store front is on the smaller side, but if you walk toward the back, you’ll notice that there’s more space with chairs and tables.
Game Qore has A LOT of board games; that was actually the first thing that I noticed. There was one in particular that my fiancée was looking for, but didn’t see it. They also had a great selection of games for older systems.
I noticed a board in the back that seemed to list tournament dates, which I thought was great. Not very many places host tournaments anymore, so I thought it was awesome they did that.
I’d love to be able to look around more thoroughly if I’m ever back in the area. Maybe I’ll actually pick up that Toad hat I saw. :)

Very true friendly, nice and legit across the board. Finding a MTG tournament in these part is hard enough. Luckily they hold FNM. I would really like to see more tournaments being held here though. A draft would be amazing!!!

This place is awesome. They have a great selection and they are always willing to order hard to find games they don’t have in stock. The staff are always very helpful and patient. This is the place to get your game fix.

Game Qore is a hobby shop conveniently located on Visalia’s scenic Main Street.
What do they have at Game Qore, you might ask? Well, the owner Cyril «C.B.» Thompson has a bit of everything. Wait… scratch that. He has a lot of everything. Board Games, card games, Table-​top roleplaying games, old Nintendo cartridge-​era video games, miniature figures for war-​gaming, graphic novels, manga, and animé. And if he doesn’t have it, he can get it for you. Any gaming hobby that you have can be catered to at Game Qore. Further, there is a pretty generous customer credit system in place.
Game Qore also has a good-​sized game room in the back, so if you want to play a board game, card game, or tabletop RPG with a bunch of friends, GameQore is definitely the place for you. Just one word of advice: you will want to ask C.B. or one of his employees first about scheduling, as there are certain evenings in which game tournaments are held and the back room is monopolized.
The owner C.B. is very friendly, attentive and outgoing, and definitely breaks the stereotype of the socially-​awkward/​unfriendly «elitist» game and comic book store owner. If you are a big gamer, or someone who has been intrigued by gaming and wondering if it might be for you, you should definitely stop by and check out Game Qore.
