Wing King Plus

Waitress was friendly, although she did mess up the order. My food and my two boys was ok, my wife’s bbq boneless wings were spicy, sent them back twice. Since hers got screwed up they didn’t charge us for it. She also ordered some fries that we did not receive and it was on the bill. Since my wife’s food was taken off the bill, For me and my two boys to eat dinner with 4 drinks was still $ 52. Not too impressed.

My husband and I vacation at Virginia Beach every year, and every time, we go to Wing King at least once. In the 7 years we have been coming, we have never been disappointed. He always gets the hot, and I get the medium. They’re cooked to perfection with a wonderful sauce tossed over them. Our servers have always been cheerful and friendly. Half priced wing nights are of course cheaper, but plan on a crowd and plan for your food to take a little longer!

Went to wing king for the first time the other night. I actually prefer boneless wings so that what I got and thank goodness! Best boneless wings I’ve had!!! More meaty than breading, the sweet tea was perfect, our waitress was on the ball, and the garlic Parmesan is awesome!!! Food was fast, service awesome, food awesome, we will definitely be returning!!!

Ok so we gave them another try and ordered delivery. We ordered at 729pm and here it it 853 pm and no order. We were told 1 hr and nothing. After calling at 815 we are told he is 10 mins away. My husband called and asked to speak to a manager and after waiting 5 mins for someone to come to the phone and once again we are told hes 10 mins away. WTF i live less than 5 mins away. Do they really expect me to pay for cold food!!! I think not!!! DO NOT I REPEAT DO NOT EVERY GET IT DELIVERED!!! If you want food from there PICK IT UP!!!

I knew something was not right when we walked in and my feet stuck to the floor. Not just in one place but everywhere I walked. The beer is cold and cheap. The old bay wings were good, but the philli sandwich my friend had was bad. After a few well priced beers I used the Faucilities and one of the kitchen folks was using it. He finished his business, then walked out. WITHOUT WASHING HIS HANDS. Last time I will eat there. Bar staff was wonderful, which is why I gave them 2 star and not one.

Wing King… What is there not to like about just those two words? Think about it: when is it ever NOT a good idea to have chicken wings for dinner? To me, Wing King tops all wing places around here. They offer an abundance of flavors, sides, and other food to satisfy all cravings. Their wings are perfectly cooked (crispy & flavorful) and doused in the perfect amount of your choice of sauce. And what might be my favorite sauce at Wing King? It’s actually a toss between Golden & Hot. Golden is pretty much their version of honey mustard flavored wings. It’s sweet, tangy, and just plain yummy.
I’ve only eaten inside this location twice. I always order to go because me being Filipino, I need my rice with chicken. Inside isn’t that big and it’s a bit dated. Off to the left is a bar area with some arcade type games and to be honest, I’m not entirely sure if it’s their smoking section but it just smells like cigarette smoke in that area. I never really look that direction. There’s also outdoor seating in a covered patio if weather permits. They have TVs all around so you’ll never miss a game if you’re into sports.
I live about 10 mins away so calling and ordering ahead gives me plenty of time to drive and return home with still hot food. They do offer delivery at both locations but just not to my neighborhood. It’s tricky getting into the parking lot of the establishment from Rosemont Rd so just drive around the back of Burger King and enter through that way.
I would love to give this place 5 stars but the smell of cigarette smoke puts me off when I’m trying to enjoy a meal indoors. I also think they should be able to deliver to Holland Rd.

This place is a decent place to grab wings. Especially, when they have specials on Monday and Wednesday from 5−9pm half priced wings and cheap drink specials. The place is small but staff is very friendly and accommodating.
Their wing sauces are good to mediocre. I always get lemon pepper wings everywhere and it was on point. I tried their Chipotle wings… It tasted like Chili. I also tried their Caribbean Jerk wings and it tasted like BBQ… The saucy flavors weren’t bad but it wasn’t the mind blowing taste that I was expecting.
Overall, it was a positive first time experience.

I ordered wings to go. I called them in and they were done in a reasonable time. It took me about 20 minutes to get there. They were ready in a to-​go box. Nice hot and fresh. I ordered honey bbq and garlic parmasean. The wings were very meaty and crispy, just how I like it. They do have really reasonable prices. The service is great. And their wings get 5 stars from me.

I paid $ 21.99 for what I thought was going to be a great steak dinner. The steak was mediocre, the coleslaw was a notch above rancid, and the only redeeming part were the baked beans but they should be because Bush has taken decades to perfect them. Never again… Not worth $ 1.00

Good for drinking and watching the game. It’s quite small, so that makes having everyone sit together quite difficult.
Bar service is sub par, especially for how small the bar is. However, of you’re a liquor drinker, they are very heavy handed with their pours for everyone.
Wings are fried in the same oil as their seafood, so I cannot comment on those, although I’ve seen some happy people.
Recommended for happy hour.

Always been a fan of Wing King, I’m a fan of the Hot Gold sauce. And although I like my wings served traditional, I always go for the Stephen’s Sampler with boneless, you get 1 ½ pound of wings (traditonal or boneless) served with 3 different sauces. Of course the aforementioned Hot Gold, the Buffalo (for some reason their extra hot sauce never truly satisfies, I like it hot), and the Garlic Parmesan. The place is a little divey, but hey, that’s what makes the food better.

I’ve passed the place multiple times & wondered how their wings were. This past weekend my husband & I came by to check our favorite local band, only to find out they were playing at the Kempsville location. Ooops! We decided to stay for the wings & I’m happy we did!
The wings were delicious. We split 15 that we were able to choose 3 different sauces for each. We went with the garlic Parmesan, mild, & their sweet and spicy. All the flavors were delish & the wings were cooked perfectly. They were crisp & had the perfect amount of sauce. We also added an order of their mozzarella sticks that were decent.
It’s a small spot & nothing fancy, but they have yummy wings, beer, & tvs!

My five must for Wing King:
1. First start off by getting a pitcher of beer. Why? Bc wings that’s why.
2. Order the Garlic Parmesan and Hot Wings. 1 lb (10 pcs) each.
3. Get yourself some sides, I would recommend the sweet potato fries. It comes with honey and it is to die for.
4. When they ask for celery and ranch say YES. Their ranch is mixed with sour cream and taste like clouds from heaven.
5. Sit back, enjoy, and unbuckle your belt.
It is busy every time I come here (around night after work) and servers tend to get swamped. Just giving y’all a heads up if you are considerably hungry and grumpy.

The lunch special for 1 lb of wings with fries and drink is now $ 8.50. ½ price bone-​in wing night is Monday from 6−9pm and dine-​in only. Same deal on boneless wings wed nights. For the purpose of review, I have only visited at these times…
To get in the business, you have to walk through the porch area and it REEKS! seriously, hold your breath. The inside, I am not gonna lie, is a dive but smells of wings and is decently clean.
Be prepared as service vasilates between horrible and great. Today, there is one waitress for 9 full tables and she is working hard but remains pleasant. I really think the place needs more help. Its busy… during discount times its outrageously busy so plan accordingly.
The wings arent huge but meaty. They are fried crisp and coated in delicious sauces. No breading which is the traditional buffalo wing. My favorite is the sweet&spicey, golden hot, and medium. I am a wimp and cant do nuclear meltdown wings but I am told their xxhot is decently hot. While there, try the fried cauliflower. I could eat this everyday and convince myself its healthy… its a veggie… right?
This is best as a lunch spot and I havent found better wings yet.

This place is pretty hit or miss every time I’ve gone. From the outside, it looks very sketchy and not appealing at all. There’s a porch area that you have to go through to get inside, and ⁹⁄₁₀ times I’ve walked in, I have not been greeted by a hostess (or anyone working for that matter), nor asked to be seated anywhere. I guess you just have to pick your own seat and hope someone sees you?
Besides the «eh» service, the wings are great! I always get a pound of medium wings with potato wedges! The sauce has the perfect tang and the perfect amount of heat for me. I’ve also tried the X-​Hot, which was good as well, but I prefer to feel my lips after eating :)
There are some down falls though: I wouldn’t advise you to order anything to go. Each time I have (the second, hoping it wouldn’t be the same as the last), the wings had been dry, dry, DRY! And there was barely any sauce on them! That’s the best part of getting hot wings! For the sauce! Not to mention that everything was always sloppily put together. It was pretty disappointing both times. Their ranch dressing is pretty bland as well, but I guess that’s a matter of preference!
I would really love this place if they could just be more consistent with their orders and service!

«Ain’t no thing but a chicken wing»
We ventured out on Wednesday completely aimless for dinner. We were in the town center area and arrived upon the decision for Wing King. We have been here before for some weekend shenanigans but felt like it was time for an official Unilocal review. Did you know their dance floor is perfect for doing the worm? I did!
We looked @ the menu and saw that W.K.P. offers specials pretty much every night of the week and we just happened to come by on boneless chicken wing night offered @ half price! (Isn’t that an oxymoron? Boneless chicken wing?) We ordered «HOT» (which were as hot as Texas Pete) and BBQ. With the special you are allowed one flavor per pound… I was also elated that domestic beers are only $ 2.00 as well. Party on Wayne, party on Garth!
If I could rate the establishment alone on their ranch dressing they would receive 5 stars. As I have said before, I am from the south and we know ranch dressing. Self proclaimed ranch connoisseur. Thick to get in those chicken wing nooks and crannies, the stuff hangs on for life! Goes great on everything, even the gargantuan celery that they serve, biggest I have ever seen in my 31 years of existence.
The people here are super friendly and I always meet someone new. This time it was Matt who stopped in for a quick drink before having to go home to write a paper. He came alone and asked «who was sitting in this stool?» I quickly replied «You». Instant friendship. (Insert rainbows and sparkles) He bought me a beer and we bantered a bit about stories of Mexico vacations past.
I highly recommend Wing King and plan on retuning for Monday Wing night soon!

I came here with my friend Isaac, because he had heard good things about it and because the wings were half priced on Monday. Immediately after walking in we realized that it was a sports bar hang out. It was packed because there was a football game on. It was a little awkward because we didn’t know anything about sports, but we enjoyed the cheerful and friendly the ambience.
To eat, I got a pound of spicy garlic wings with tater (potato) wedges, while my friend got a pound of the teriyaki wings. The wings were pretty good, and I loved the spicy garlic sauce; my friends teriyaki wasn’t bad either. The sweet tea was on point as well. Isaac drank about 5 cups of it. The servers could have been a little more attentive though, but the service wasnt horrible. All in all, I think I’ll be back to try another flavor, but it’s going to have to be on Monday when they’re half price again.

After reading a few reviews by other Unilocalers and seeing the half prove deal I decided why not? Struggling with an ending I decided to settle into a bag of bones and a drink to soothe the soul.
Walking in I was excited to see we had plenty of time to hit the 5P-​6P ½ price wings deal. Be aware it’s just for the lb. of wings not in the combo. I ordered a 1 lb teriyaki wings with Bleu Cheese and tater wedges (fatter version of fries).
The inside was littered with flat screens around the bar with the game. Altho I’m not an avid gamer it’s a great crowd for loud cheering and fun fanfare watching.
The wings were petty good and juicy which came with a bones basket and there’s also sauce options if you care for them. Had a fun time and I would definitely like the tea. Would like to come back and try a different flavor.

Love this place its loud so can’t hear the my kids being loud game is on for the kids to watch. And the food is always good

An update from my recent visit. My first visit was almost two years ago.
$ 7 for a pound of wings, fries and a soda? Wow. WTH? That is an amazing deal. I had no meetings for the day so I decided to stink up my breath with some garlic parmesan wings. The wings were huge, crispy and full of flavor. Definitely some good wings at this spot.
Service still seems to need some work. It took a while for someone to greet us. My biz partner and I sat in the dining area and the only wait staff in the place seemed to focus more on the people at the bar. My cup sat empty for a few minutes before our waitress remembered that she had a table.
Bathrooms are a little sketch. Even at noon during the week I found an old man standing at his stall with both hands on the wall. Seriously?
Good food for a great deal. If service was better I’d go more more often.
