Tropical Smoothie Cafe

Although all smoothies are same at all locations, I’m giving 1 star for their service and for ripping me off. This store actually charged me extra for ordering a smoothie in 2 smaller separate cups. Didn’t know then but until later that they’re not supposed to charge you more when I also bought the same smoothie at another location from a nice Supervisor who rang me up. She told me there’s a button on their register for 2 smaller cups but same price as a regular smoothie. I’d recommend the one on Lynnhaven and N Great Neck Dr near Shore Dr location — much friendlier service who won’t rip you off and honest with a sign where you can get $ 5 credit if you download their app.

I received some tropical smoothie café coupons in the mail so I decided to use one of these at this establishment. I used the get any 24oz smoothie for a $ 1.99 with any purchase excluding side items, breakfast, and kids menu. So my item was a chicken Cordon Bleu wrap and all wraps come with a side item so I chose sun chips. When I presented my coupon they refused to give me the chips with my order. The loyal drive thru pawn claims the owner doesn’t give out chips with coupons. I replied that my coupon was for a smoothie with my purchase of the wrap, purchasing the wrap includes chips. She still refused, so never will I support this establishment again. The coupons don’t say anywhere that using a coupons excludes you from receiving your side items. Franchised with your own rules or not, no food establishment in the customer service industry should be telling their customers «no». They also charged me for a total turkey wrap, the chicken cordon bleu maybe a special item but that doesn’t give you any reason to charge me more for it by ringing up the most expensive wrap. Obviously there is a wee bit of greed behind this place, and they don’t care about satisfying their customers. If it’s that crucial to be telling your customers «no» because they present a coupon, then change your policy to «we do not accept coupons».

The menu offers a lot of options and is tasty but overpriced. This location is the closest to us so we visit it the most often. Staff is usually nice.
My reason for writing this review is because this location is super-​strict with how coupons are applied. I think there may be some independent franchising going on since their coupon policies vary between locations…
Last night, I brought a $ 0.99 smoothie with any sandwich purchase coupon that was emailed to me. Believe it or not, it said I needed to show my ID to redeem it LOL. They made me pay $ 1.99 because they «don’t do $ 0.99 coupons» at that store AND my smoothie had to be from a particular list of like 6 selections.
Again, I’m not complaining about the staff (it’s not their fault) and I didn’t give then a hard time about the coupon but it’s like all of their coupons come with a hidden asterisk for what appears to be no reason! This is not the first time we’ve faced additional restrictions with coupons at this location.
The owner/​general manager should reconsider whether they’d rather lose $ 1.00 for a coupon or $ 20.00 for each customer…

Very rude management including store manager. Need to do some training on the customer service. Get the money back and go somewhere else.

I have eaten here 100 times more or less. Always friendly service. I have used the drive thru and walk in service. I had an order mix up on a phone order one time but that’s ok. He must have had trouble understanding the phone order. Always good smoothies and I like the flat bread sandwiches.

Nothing like being ignored when you walk into a restaurant. 4 employees look at you and turn around. One employee at the cash register and looks they you. Until the manager/​owner came up did finally someone ask me anything. Hope their food is good because the service sucks.

I have only eaten here a few times, and have got drive thru smoothie on other occasions. This location is not so good I have to say due to low visibility to Independence Blvd. I believe that this has held them back from maximizing their growth. However, they know how to deliver good eats and smoothies with a smile. The business is located in the same strip as Papa Johns.
I cannot always park up front which is limited, but scored it on my last visit. Most parking is in the lot which is not far. I have found the lot is usually clear and no debris on the sidewalk in front of the store ever. The windows of the business were sparkly clean too!
My most recent visit was an dine in on a weekday. They were not busy around 1 PM which suited me find. The woman behind the counter was busy at the drive thru, one of the special things about this location. Once waited on the middle age woman was terrific and very attentive. I got my usual wrap the King Cesar and scored with a great coupon. Watch for them in ads, I usually will not eat at TS without one.
I took a seat and waited for my food and smoothie. This is one of the smallest dining rooms of a TS that I have ever seen, but it works of this small strip. The dining room was completely clean from tables to floor. I utilized the restroom while I wait. They like the rest of the restaurant was clean, everything worked with soap and towels.
My food came out first and was hot and delicious. Paired with Mrs. Vickies BBQ chips and it was a hit. Disappointing was that my smoothies did not some out until I was several bites into my meal. But they do bring them out to you which I like. Overall a great meal. Don’t forget they also offer breakfast too!
I am in this area all of the time, but have got in a rut with my own TS I guess. This is one that I should try to use more often, especially with the drive thru making it so much more convenient. The drawback is TS is on the pricey side and it’s a chain. However, they usually deliver a pretty good meal and my kids want to move in. As far as how this one stacks up it’s above average.

Nutritious fast food… who thought that line would ever be used?
I enjoy coming here are a work out. They have a great deal with a half sandwich and a smoothie.
I’ve had all their sandwiches and I’m torn between the wasabi roast beef or the cranberry chicken salad.
The flatbread sandwiches and wraps are also terrific. I like both the chipotle chicken and the Jamaican jerk chicken.
The counter staff are fast and efficient.

Top notch.
Smoothies are extremely delicious.
Just find out that you can add supplement to your smoothie.
As usual, customer service is superb

Weird perking lot
The smoothies and wraps are good here. I like to get Splenda instead of sugar and my favorite smoothie is a strawberry beach. If you order the Jamaican jerk chicken wrap, be prepared to burn the crap out of your mouth.
I like wasabi roast beef sandwich and if you get a meal it comes with the smoothie and a piece of fruit or chips.
At this location you can call ahead and pick up your order when you get there. They have a drive through window. Otherwise if you pull up to the drive-​through to place an order they give you a pager type gadget and you can sit in your car and the pager will go off when your water it’s ready. It is a pretty good system if you are lazy and do not feel like getting out of your car I would suggest it.

This particular Tropical Smoothie is close to work, so I’ve gone a couple of times. On each occasion I’ve been surprised by how quickly they get the smoothies and food out to you. The service is also very pleasant and they generally have samples of smoothies that they pass out.
Also, this is the only Tropical Smoothie I’ve seen that has a drive-​through. Maybe that’s why they’re so quick at prepping food.

So disappointed that yet again Tropical Smoothie changed its menu. As a Vegetarian, there is now only 1 option on the menu for Vegetarians. I will not be returning… Instead I will take my business to Gourmet Gang which has multiple options and in the same strip mall.
