Spencer’s Gifts at Lynnhaven Mall has packed walls, shelves and racks which is smart considering the competition with online shopping. I had not been in a Spencer’s since, well, probably the 1980’s when I last bought a black light poster. Last week I stopped in for a costume accessory and they had what I wanted (at the same price as an online store). The rest of the product selection ranges from fake vomit to mood lamps to popular cartoon character novelties to «Saturday night kink» gear. If you have kids in tow and don’t want them to see the adult stuff avoid the rear left of the store (as of this writing anyway). The salesperson was pleasant, offering assistance without pressure. The prices are good with many things on sale. If you don’t want to walk the mall to get to Spencer’s park near Dick’s and Barnes & Noble.
