Schlotzsky’s

Some days you just must have Schlotsky’s for lunch. The taste of their sandwich pervades your mind throughout the entire morning. It’s not something that one can banish from their thoughts.
A Schlotsky’s Original is completely unique. There are no words that can describe its difference from an ordinary sandwich. So I’ll give you my best try.
Begin with a large flat sour dough bun garnished with sesame seed and probably more. It’s so hard to postpone beginning the meal that I eat before looking. Maybe one day I’ll manage to control the urge.
Add a generous variety of excellent deli meat and tasty veggies. The veggies, which consist of shredded lettuce, onion, black olives & sliced tomatoes, perfectly complement the meat choices. Are there more veggies? Mine is devoured so quickly that I can’t be certain.
The cheese combination has a unique taste and provides a thick, slightly creamy texture that’s rather hard to describe. It must be experienced. Imagine a generous combination of cheddar, mozzarella, and parmesan in a unique blend.
Add garlic salad dressing and lots of mustard. Any sandwich with tons of mustard is at the top of my like list.
Yumm… Now can I make it back to Lynnhaven from Hilltop without giving in to my primal instincts and ripping open the bag to eat while I drive?
Probably not…

My husband & I went there for the 1^st time together ! We dined inside, (it was clean but empty which we didn’t mind) the cashier was helpful & kind, we received our food in a few minutes, it was hot and sooooo good! I got the pastrami & swiss he got a Reuben OMG so delicious. I will be returning!

I see why this place was empty. The front door jams hard to open. Had the turkey bacon club made me sick. Never going this this location again.

Love this place! The one in RVA closed so when we visit VA. Beach we have to stop in! Just as good as we remember! Try the #1!!!

Love their food! The person in the drive thru should be more friendly! Both times I’ve been here recently, they have been rude and not friendly as someone who is interacting with customers should be!

I went to the schlotzsky’s on hilltop in va beach for the first time today. This place has the best sandwiches I have ever tasted before! I have worked in multiple restraints in the total of 6 – 7 years (including 5 star restraunts). When I first walked in I was greeted and felt welcome to the store by Jessica. I then asked her what she thought was the best since they have so many choices. She then read off multiple items with full and complete detail witch was highly impressive. Most servers I’ve had to train, hired, or work with couldn’t compare to the in-​depth process that jessica described to me.
The sandwhich was so amazing I just couldn’t stop eating it after I was full. This is the type of food that you wish you could constantly eat with out gaining a full factore because of the amazing taste that my pallet received. The experience definitely recieved a 10 out of 5! I will and would recommend this place to everyone!

Used to live in Virginia and this place was the best! I’m so sad that the two Schlotzsky’s in San Diego, CA can’t even compare to this location’s friendly service and well made sandwiches.

Decent food for the price but nothing so great that I’d be running back.

As a vegetarian, I had very little hope for something I would enjoy. But this place impresses me over and over! From their pre-​made, super fresh salads to the veggie pizza– I have never been dissappointed. Walking in to a deli and having home-​made vegetarian soup and a salad in a fast food environment make this girl ridiculously happy. The service can be slow and sometimes staff is not knowledgable about the product or very upbeat, and that’s the only reason I don’t give this place 5 stars.

I don’t know what we did to deserve it, but all the Schlotzskys in NW FL closed several years ago and nothing comparable has taken their place. I found this one not far from my hotel so I got in two meals. From the breads to the meats to the soups, there’s nothing food wise about these places I dislike. Fresh baked bread, deli meat, quality toppings and nothing fried, and for the ultra health conscious person they have pre made salads in the deli counter. Enjoy it VA Beach, you must be doing something right!
The only note that keeps this from a five is the lack of attention to the dining area. Tables were not being cleaned and had a trashed out look.

A healthier fast-​food choice with freshly made deli sandwiches and soups. Great when you’re on the run and limited on time to stop for lunch but don’t want traditional fast food. You even have the choice to build your own deli sandwich.
