I’m not much on chain restaurants but mom loves the place and 9 out of 10 times we will end up in here. We always end up ordering the same thing, but this time the steak came out tough. The waitress explained that every once in a while you get a tough cow and they took the steak off the bill. It’s a great place with great service.

All around bad service. We told the hostess party of five with two kids. The hostess then walked away and didn’t come back. About 5 minutes later the manager(I guess… he was in a dress shirt and slacks) says«Are you aware of what’s going on right now?» He then explains the AC was leaking in the area we were to be seated, so they had to rearrange some tables. After being seated five minutes after that, they didn’t bring any silverware or napkins to our table. We had to steal some from the surrounding empty tables. I saw another family do the same thing on my way to the bathroom, so it wasn’t a fluke. The bathroom was disgusting. There was dried piss every and the sink counter was flooded with water. There was also used paper towels on the counter and floor. The whole establishment appeared dirty and unkept. The food took forever to come out. The food wasn’t very good either and everyone’s fries were cold. My Mom asked for a baked potato with her meal, but was served fries instead. When she asked about it she was told they ran out of baked potatoes. A party off two got seated across from us about five minutes AFTER we were seated. They got their food the SAME time we did. And guess what, they BOTH had baked potatoes on their plates. My kids ordered the mini pizzas from the kids menu. They both complained the pizza sauce was too spicy. I tried it and I thought they were right. It was way too spicy for a kids menu. But I guess that’s a personal preference thing. Even with all the bad service, dirty restaurant, and bad food; we still gave a $ 5 tip on a $ 50 bill. We pay the bill and then leave. This is where it gets good. Our waitress comes out to the parking lot and says they made a mistake and gave us the wrong bill. Our bill should have been $ 13 more. She then asks for our card again so they can refund the other bill and charge us properly. She was pretty lucky we hung around talking by the car for a few minutes after we left. I follow her back inside and ask for the original receipt back when they are done it. Another waitress says«You don’t need it. The refund SHOULD show up on your account in a day or so». I say«Well, things obviously don’t happen like the SHOULD around here, so I would still like a copy for my records in case I get double charged». She brings the receipt back and laughingly says, «This happens all the time». 1. I didn’t think the situation was funny and 2. I don’t think that is something you should go around bragging about. We didn’t leave a tip on the second check. I felt bad for the waitress, but you can’t have all that happen and still expect a tip. The food and service here are equivalent to your local McDonalds, but at least they are adequately priced. I don’t eat at Rudy Tuesday often. I think I might have eaten there 3 – 4 times in the past 10 years. But after this incident, I will probably never eat at one ever again.

Christine was my server and this experience was 180 turn around from last time! I was greeted promptly and warmly at the door by a female employee who has a love for books and cinema I was seated and asked if this was ok with me? I ordered the crispy bite buffalo wings in hot(which comes with fire sauce on it and wow it tastes awful) I asked for a new batch in mild and that was much more buffalo sauce normal. My Diet Coke was never empty, and I was never ever rushed and that made me feel good. I know this will sound weird but I intended to come, eat, write in a journal and relax. I did just that and more. The female manager who is black checked on me and others diners several times. She was the one who actually took back my hot buffalo bites. There was a gentleman I’m not sure who he was but he appeared uptight in a crisp white button up long sleeve shirt. He also came around and asked how people were doing but, he was just a bit odd with good intentions I’m sure. The food was well done, served promptly and the salad bar was kept in a spectacular manner. Unlike my other review where I said I won’t be back, this time I WILL be back and I’ll do it with bells on!

Stopped in for lunch. Place was clean and the service was quick. I had the burger and the wife had the fish. Not bad for a national chain. We will be back!

1. Can’t swap a side with the salad bar when ordering ribs-it’s 2.99 extra. 2. Appetizer was forgotten. Comped eventually and we took it to go. 3. Steak sauce took a while to arrive. 4. Steaks could have been prepared better. 5. Salad bar was great as always.

For a nationwide chain restaurant, what makes the difference is the service. The food is just as expected for a chain restaurant, not too bad but not too great. I got the ragin cajun ribs and it was very mild. I would have expected a little more kick but it wasn’t too bad after all. Today was a holiday so there weren’t that many people dining in so the service could have been a lot better. Our appetizers took a little too long and then out came our main entrée shortly after. It just seems like they forgot about putting in the appetizers in the beginning. Overall the experience was not bad but wasn’t that great.

Very disappointed. Service was great but they overlooked my steak. The second time around the manager came and dropped off the second one and left. I did get an apology but they typically ask you to cut into it to see if the temperature was right. The manager didn’t do this and as I cut into the steak, it was rare– not the medium rare I requested. Sent back a third time, at this point I am thinking they need to comp my meal; it was finally cooked right. Took three tries. I ate my steak with my cold grilled zucchini. No offer to comp my meal. Not sure if we will come back to this location.

Great experience here at Ruby Tuesdays tonight. The food was average, the salad bar was slightly lacking but the service was phenomenal. Our daughter was crying as the movie we wanted to see was sold out(cinema café). We came to Virginia Beach from Chesapeake for that reason. We ended up at RT as it was late and one of the first restaurants we came across. Our server Rudger S was engaging, friendly, and always with a smile. By far one of the best servers that we’ve had in a long time. Hope he appreciated the extra tip. We certainly appreciated his service. It’s great when someone goes the extra mile

Not at all impressed. Mediocre food that is very overpriced. I ordered the mini cheeseburgers(which came with fries and salad bar) and I didn’t finish any of it. The burgers tasted like frozen patties. Not good quality. Also they didn’t come like they were described in the menu. They left out stuff. The fries were gross as well. Tasted like fish. I’m guessing they were using dirty oil to fry them in. The salad bar was decent, except for the pasta salad which had a bad taste, like it was old. They had a new dessert on the menu that looked good, but the waitress didn’t give me a chance to order it. She slapped the bill down on the table and walked away without even letting me speak. Probably won’t go back.

There is a time and a place for chain restaurants like Ruby Tuesday’s. It’s easy. It’s consistent. And it’s not going to be anything unexpected. Perfect for when you’re taking your Mom to dinner. Also, I really like the pumpernickel croutons on the salad bar. Mom got the salmon with mashed potatoes. She loved it. I don’t know what they call it, but I had something with spicy shrimp in a cheesy sauce with penne noodles. It was pretty good, but heavier than I expected. That cheese sauce is the full calorie stuff, donchaknow? We opted to skip dessert. Good meal. Consistent and good service.

What can I say about this Ruby Tuesday that can differentiate it from the others in the chain? … Not much. I mean, it seemed a little dated in terms of the décor. You have to be realistic though and understand that this is the norm. The area isn’t sprawling in contemporary dining /drinking options. I give this Ruby Tuesday 4-Stars because it was there in my time of need. On a Sunday with about 1 hour to go before putting on my groomsmen tuxedo, I really needed a drink to take the edge of. The bartender was super friendly and chill. She gave me the remedy to my stress: a well made, delicious top shelf long island ice tea and a generously poured shot of patron. $ 9 bucks each. So what the captain chair like stools at the bar are secured to the ground, the drinks hit the spot. Cheers.

We were greeted by a very nice hostess, and our waitress was very sweet she was delightful, the food was awesome our drinks tasted really good, the waitress even helped me pick out a drink. the salad bar was really yummy, although the people that were eating in the restaurant had no manners and didn’t seem like they knew how to eat properly, food was all over their tables, place was very clean.

The food was decent nothing to really jump up and down about. Our waiter appeared to be in a daze or some sort of funk as he didn’t even refill drinks until I finally made the hand jester. When placing our order he stood as if in a state of shock very weird almost uncomfortable. I don’t think we will be coming here again and most certainly not paying for poor performance in staff and food quality. Im certain other establishments are better than this particular RT. On another note: Employees need to ensure the customers are taking care of, drinks refilled and such. Many complain about tips, what you need to understand is that if customers aren’t serviced properly then it affects your tip. You receive nothing from me for poor service. Just as if one owns a company employees do not get paid for doing nothing or not coming into work same applies in my tip pocket. You refuse to do your job. I refuse to give you a tip.

Chains, I’m incredibly harsh on chains, starting them out at 3-stars and then grudgingly giving them extra stars if they go above and beyond my expectations. This Ruby Tuesay is a solid performer. The bar staff was friendly, plenty of good view TV’s(it was Sunday Night Football time!). The salad bar was clean and the environment was pleasant. Service was slow, considering I ordered two appetizers, it took a considerable amount of time to get me a Guac dip and some toasted flat bread. Plenty of parking, plenty of seating. It’s what I’ve come to expect from Ruby Tuesdays.

When we walked in the door on the 4th of July we were greeted by a very pleasant and perky hostess. After that, it was all down hill. Our waitress was very polite though and the manager was very nice as well… but we should not have been talking to the manager in the first place. Our waitress was very slow and they were not very busy. It took forever to get our cheddar biscuits. A table came in about 15 minutes after we did and their server brought them biscuits about 5 minutes before we got ours. I ordered the New Orleans Seafood and it was good. The fish was cooked perfectly. I just don’t like fish but need to eat it more for the health benefits. The side of spaghetti squash was absolutely flavorless. My wife’s steak was covered in hair. We pulled five hairs off of the steak. It was really gross! It also had a very strange smell and funny taste. They comped her meal and gave her a new steak which smelled and tasted fine but wow! My sons spaghetti with marinara sauce tasted like a typical jarred sauce. So, slowest service ever on a slow night, a hairy steak and terrible sauce. I was very disappointed with the menu to begin with. It has been well over a year since my wife and I ate at a Ruby Tuesday’s(which we very much enjoyed when we first started dating… years ago) and the menu is just terrible. We only went in because we had a $ 10 coupon. Since we got my wife’s meal free we gave the coupon to a table next to us. I will never eat at this location again, and with this menu of suck, I will never eat at a RT’s again.

So my family and I go to Ruby Tuesdays for the first time on Friday. We waited about 10 minutes before we were even asked what drinks we would like. the place wasn’t that busy and the waiter didn’t have very many tables. we get our drinks and order our food and we never got silverware to eat with. After we finished our app and our salads the waiter finally comes by and looks at us and asked if we would want some dessert to go with our meals. I looked at my husband then said that we haven’t even received our dinner. The waiter looked at me surprised and then stated that he will go and check on it. Its been an hour by now and our food finally arrives to the table. Our four year old daughter was happy to finally getting her food, but it didn’t stop there. My shrimp and fish were undercooked. the waiter never came back by to see if our food was fine. it took 25 minutes before the manager came by and asked how everything was. I told her that my food was undercooked and she took it away and said that they would remake it for me. I walked into the restaurant about 8:05 in the evening it was nearly 10:00 when we finally walked out. Yes the manager did try and see if there was anything that she could do but it was too late. she did comp my meal, but that doesn’t excuses the very slow service, I should say and server that wasn’t really there, the kitchen taking forever on chicken, and shrimp and fish. Never ever again will we go there.
