Amazingly awesome fantastic food! Great place for the family. Flip flop cut off shorts and a good time to be had for sure. The pizza was so good and the crust was so soft that I had to eat it even though I am watching my carbs. Staff was very sweet and amazing they informed our group of the amazing deals and combos for the day. The rave revues on the Garlic knots should have a special ribbon or trophy because they are that good! I highly recommend eating at this establishment. You will not regret your decision. I will be returning on my next trip to the beach.

Great service and nice menu options. Opted for back bay burger, chicken Parmesan, Italian macaroni and cheese and the much publicized garlic knots. The glasses were never empty and staff was very attentive. We also ordered milkshakes and sundae for dessert. The three of us ate well for $ 50. I believe I will have to return to the beach for a nap!

Highly recommend this place if you’re in the area and need a pizza(or wings) The staff is very friendly. We called in and it was ready when we got there. We got the pepperoni pizza and a pound of wings and it was so good. Definitely will go back and you should too

My sons birthday was celebrated here. Something simple as pizza, ice cream will make any 2 year old happy. The kids played games. Arcade was outdated and one of the toy dispensers took our money. But aside from that the pizza, breadsticks and the ice cream made our day. I’ll come back for the food any day.

I love Pungo pizza. Garlic knots are my favorite. Wish there was more than one location. They have the best garlic knots!!!

Pungo looks as fun as the name sounds. It’s pizza, ice cream, and a covered patio with arcade games in the back. They do have options other than pizza and I opted for what appeared to be a deconstructed tuna salad which was two generous scoops of tuna on a plate with cheese, tomato slices and a bread stick. It was a delicious and fun way to eat tuna salad. Tear off a piece of bread and scoop up a bite of tuna. If you’ve never enjoyed an Ethiopian meal at least once in your lifetime, I highly recommend it. Anyway, Hubby’s side salad was crisp, fresh and the dressing was tangy and delicious. I can’t vouch for his pizza but he enjoyed it. Service was friendly and efficient and the interior felt like a home town pizza joint. There were some interesting historical photos about a local plane crash and a movie star but I don’t remember all of the details so you’ll have to check those out if you’re ever able to stop in at Pungo.

We ordered a pepperoni pizza which we thought was very good. The sauce and cheese were very tasty; the only negative was that we thought it should have been cooked a little longer.

Garlic knots are amazeballs and the pizza is bangin. And they’ve got a bunch of older arcade games for the kids… And me. Plus an atm and change machine on hand. Awesome

Coming from up north, there aren’t too many pizza places that are great in my opinion. But this place is pretty good. I went with a friend of mine, and when we saw they have ice cream, we realized we got a double whammy! We ordered the vegetable pizza and garlic knots, pizza was good, garlic knots YES! We washed that down with cookies and cream ice cream and chocolate ice cream. We decided next time we go to our secret spot in Pungo, we would go to this place after.

I came here for an impromptu lunch last week with a good friend of mine and really enjoyed myself. This place looks like a pretty awesome family resturant with a full arcade inside. I seriously wish I knew about this place as a kid. Our waitress was very friendly and helpful with all of our questions regaurding the menu. She guided us in the direction of ordering their signature garlic knots, which were perfect; probably the best garlic knots I’ve had in my life. They were crunchy on the outside, and nice and soft on the inside. Don’t even get me started on the seasoning either. We also got an order of wings and the Wednesday special of a 16in one topping pizza for $ 10.99. The pepperoni pizza and wings honestly weren’t the best that I’ve eaten, but still pretty good. All in all this is a great little spot in Pungo for hanging out while having fun and eating good food. I can’t wait to come back and try that arcade though.

Had pepperoni pizza, ice cream, fried pickles and kids mozzarella sticks and it was all good! The arcade was a hit with the kids and the service was quick and friendly!

Food: The salad was generic and the house salad dressing tasted like it was store bought. The cheese pizza(which I rate all pizza places by) is average at best. Despite the claim of being New York Style, it does not meet the bar. I will say the local craft beer selection was decent, which is always worth bonus points. Setting: Despite not being«wowed» by the food, I will say it’s great for kids. The arcade and kid friendly menu are good if you’re looking to escape.

Pungo Pizza is simply delicious. No need to use any other fancy words to describe the taste of their pizza. This is some of the best Pizza I have ever had and if you haven’t been yet, you need to check this place out! Apparently they’re most well known for their stuffed pizza and stuffed is an understatement. Just visually imagine a traditional pie crust that is latticed exactly like a pie top and then brushed with garlic butter. We obviously got the stuffed pizza, half meat: sausage, ham, pepperoni and bacon and half veggie: spinach, broccoli, fresh tomatoes, green peppers, black olives, mushrooms, red onions, and mozzarella cheese. There are no words that can justify how tasty this pizza is. It is baked to perfection: slightly chewy dough that was flavorful and the ingredients were equally of high quality and had generous servings of both the veggie and meat in all the slices. We got the 16 inch for $ 18 bucks but me and my gf split it so it was a really good price point and we were still able to bring two slices home for each of us! Our dining companions got the Taco and BBQ Chicken pizza which I think they enjoyed as well but I was too much in food coma and pizza heaven to worry about anything else. The service can be a little slow but I think each pizza is made to order and for pizza this good, it’s definitely worth the wait. Afterwards, enjoy some old school arcade games in the back of the joint such as Pinball machines, Pacman, and some racing games. The bathrooms here were surprisingly clean and have a modern touch to it. Outdoor seating is also available which has a screen door surrounding the area so you’ll be able to enjoy the food without the little buggers. The location I think is not the best, since it was about 15 – 20 minutes from where my GF lives and is «out of the way» but that’s just me. I just wish there was a location in Richmond, I would come at least once a week and then proceed to buy bigger waist size pants.

I’ve been a patron here for almost 6 years. The arcade area in the back has sadly shrunken over the years, but the food has remained unchanged. My favs: Combo stuffed pizza(half meat, half veggie), Pulled Pork Pizza, Taco pizza, fried green beans, and their cakes! The stuffed pizza is their signature, one of a kind creation. Their dough isn’t heavy, perfectly chewy and light, which make this literal pizza«pie» an amazing thing! It’s mainly just cheese and toppings inside, and they give you a bowl of marinara on the side to either dip or spread over your slices if you so choose. Taco pizza: tastes like a dang Taco. Refried beans are used in lieu of pizza sauce. Topped with cheese, lettuce and tomato. Pulled Pork pizza: AKA — the Lechon pizza. The sauce is replaced with a thin coating of sweet and tangy vinegar-based sauce. Pork is under and atop the cheese. And that’s it! But the result is addicting! It’s always a friendly atmosphere. If you come on a Saturday afternoon be warned that there is a very good chance of a kid’s birthday party going on.

Great place to grab a bite to eat in Pungo. Super nice staff, very friendly and attentive! Very very very kid/family friendly, with a huge video game room in the back. Plenty of options — pizza(by the slice & whole), pasta, salads, sandwiches, kids’ menu. Through October, they are raising funds for The Bra-Ha-Ha, supporting the Breast Center at Chesapeake Regional Hospital by selling homemade chocolate cupcakes! Love to see restaurants giving back to our community!

Two words: stuffed pizza My first visit to Pungo Pizza was just last night and I’m already thinking of when I can go back. Maybe when my cholesterol gets back to a normal level. But in any case, I’ll be back for that combo stuffed pizza. Half veggie, half meat, with a lattice of crust on top that’s brushed in butter. There’s some marinara on the side for your dipping pleasure as well. The crust is really what did it for me. It’s a substantial pizza but the crust is so soft, almost croissant like. HOWDOTHEYDOIT??? They also have pasta, cold and hot sandwiches, and salads as well. Service was plenty friendly and there are ample tables in the front, the screened in porch, and the back where the arcade games are. Hershey’s ice cream is available along with some pie slices that I saw in their small fridge. This is a great place for families

So I have a friend who gets pizza here a lot but she always gets cheese pizza and my impression of this place has been a reflection of that. Which is to say that I probably would be giving this place 1 star. We went this weekend and got a Mexican pizza(people still do that?) and a Buffalo chicken pizza. Both were actually really good. The Buffalo pizza really tasted like Buffalo chicken– they even got the chicken to be crispy without the pizza being burnt. The Mexican pizza was something I haven’t had in years and it was really yummy as well. The place is a little county and has an arcade in the back with some old video games. It’s way out in Pungo so not sure if it is worth the drive all the way out there but if you are close by, it is a very good place.

There really isn’t much out here in the farms and rural areas of Pungo, so you’re going to do well here in Pungo Pizza. And if you have a little one? Whoah! Look out! Video games! I’m not sure why I ended up in a pizza place and didn’t have a hankering for pizza. Instead, I went with the lunch sized portion of baked ziti plus meatballs. Very tasty, very meaty sauce and of course the meatballs were tasty too. Lots of cheese. A quick sprinkle or two of red peppers from the shaker on the table and it was golden. My waitress refilled my water without it being pointed out and before it got low, which is always nice. And yes, «Pungo» is a placename, from the Machipungo Indians that used to live here.
