Okay food was the typical Mexican cuisine, so you can’t really mess it up. However the manager and service there was God awful. We waited a couple minutes for someone to greet us and seat us. Once they finally sat us, there was a HUGE pile of food underneath our table. We asked the server if they could sweep the pile of food underneath our table and he responded, «it’s just food». WHAT?! WORSESERVICEEVER! Never going back.

Very good restaurant and nice staff. The only thing they need to change is to DIMTHELIGHTS a little. Way too bright and it feels like you are eating in a kitchen. It does not have to be pitch black, but definitely more dim. But great margaritas too! And Salsa! But DIMTHELIGHTS. Hope they see this! But worth it I guess just for the good food, service, and margaritas!

Need to work on food quality. Love the location, the atmosphere, the drinks and chips. Food used to be very good. I love enchiladas. They no longer have red sauce. It is either gray or brown and they are dry.

I went out to dinner at Plaza Azteca tonight and it was the worst experience I’ve had at a restaurant in a long time. My friend ordered a jalapeño margarita and it was so spicy all six members of the group couldn’t drink it. It then took us two hours to get through the rest of our meal. If that wasn’t bad enough, the waitress messed up all of our bills at the end of the evening. To help her fix it, we wrote out everything each couple ordered and she still wasn’t competent enough to correct her error so we all ended up paying way more than we ordered. The food is decent, but certainly not worth the trouble of dealing with the incompetent staff. If I could give this place zero stars, I would.

We ate here for lunch. My wife had burritos but she did not think they were good. I had the fajitas. Very good. Food was sizzling had. The beans, rice etc were hot and served on a warm plate. Service was very good. The young lady was attentive. She returned to check on the quality of the food and our beverages. Very satisfied with the restaurant and I would return.

Terrible! The menu has changed to a laminated sheet of paper, front and back only. I asked for an item that was on the old menu, fajita burritos. Lunch portion is one burrito, the dinner portion is two. It was lunch time and from what I remembered the dinner portion was maybe $ 2 more, so I ask for the dinner portion. Choice of chicken or beef I asked for a mix, it comes with onions, I asked for no onions. Ya know I got onions and instead of it being mixed, it was one beef and one chicken. It’s comes with beans and rice, I asked rice only, I got beans and rice. It was a to go order so I looked at my order as I walking out and saw the beans and went back right in. I gave them the order back to fix, it came back out in 30 seconds. So you know they plopped the burritos in another container wiped off whatever bean residue that was on it and threw in the rice. When you get to go orders they charge you an extra $ 0.25. Why? To pay for the to go containers and or chips? You get chips with your to go order but I didn’t receive the white sauce just the red. And the red salsa tasted pretty terrible. My order total came to $ 14.88 which was a huge waste of money. I should have just asked for a refund when I went back in to get the beans situation fixed. Never again will I support any of these establishments.

Thankfully not all Plaza Azteca’s are created equal. My wife and I went on a Friday evening. The waiter had a tough time with English so I switched to Spanish I am fluent in this language. We ordered two dishes of the same plate. After 15 or so minutes he delivered a single plate. The manager came by and apologized profusely. I told the manager exactly what I told the waiter. He understood it completely. A few minutes later the manager brought out a similar plate. I started to chow down was completely disappointed as the Tamale had a minuscule amount of meat with the rest being Masa ~ Dough. Not a favorable experience and paid full price for this abuse. In my opinion, the best service and food can be found at the Plaza Azteca located on 5209 Providence Road.d.

The food was average not impressed. There was a lack of service. We receive our chips and salsa after a 4 – 5 minutes after we set down. The salsa was to salty and the sweet tea was more likely water with syrup. I will guess they were having a rough day since it was pack.

Not the quality I remember it to be! Do not order the shrimp tacos. Never have I ever had anything so odd. It was like a shrimp sauce inside instead of just shrimp w some seasoning. Everything was just«off». The service was good… people were friendly.

Seriously some of the best fajitas I’ve had. You walk in and smell delicious. Mango margarita was on point too. Not too sweet not too tequila. The house made guacamole was really yummy. The best part might be the service though. Carlos was such a sweetheart and really stayed on top of us. He made jokes and kept us entertained while also giving us privacy. The décor was cool and food selection wide. Is certainly go back and recommend to friends!

Regular here for two years. Steadily going down hill. Tonight, food marginal at best. Friend order was cold. Called manager over an told him. His response, if you put salsa on top it is going to cool it off. Did take it and I guess microwaved it. Disappointing to see this restaurant declining.

We ate here last night and I agree, it has gone down hill. When they brought chips they only brought salsa so I had to ask for white sauce. No biggie. The service was great! My husband said his chimichangas were awesome but my chicken enchiladas were awful! They were so bland. They tasted like chicken and unsalted potatoes. I ate them but my whole plate had no test. Think we will stick to our usual Mexican joint.

It was affordably priced, but not as authentic as I would have liked… the cheese did not taste real to me… but velveeta-like. The portions were a good size, though. I would order beef over chicken there… Also they had soccer playing on two visible televisions and on another Law and Order SVU… This was around 5:30 on a Saturday night… Not really a good family show. The volume was turned down… And the music was very appropriate and fun… All in all an average experience… Not a bad experience, but I would not return… Customer service was also great!

Came here on a whim with some friends, it took a while to get the food out, the guacamole was very good, fresh, at times a big to salty. My friends order margaritas and said they were highly sour in some cases, and salty like«licking the oceans asshole» … yes thats an exact quote. So once you are done doing that, the food is half way decent, usual Americanized Mexican in this area, on par with Plaza Azteca. This location is very far from my usual stomping grounds and I would not really go out of my way to eat here however its not horrible, the décor could use some updating and some drink prep training may not be a bad idea either.

They have moved across the street from where they used to be. Food is still good and service ok. One of the better«chains» in this area.

This restaurant is slowly going downhill. Our margaritas this evening tasted like green Kool Aid. And we paid for top shelf tequila. Very sad.

First time I’ve been in years!!! This was a much better experience from what I can recall. Great service! Got our drinks and food pretty quick. I really enjoyed the Chili Relleno. It got straight to the point. I tried the burrito and fajitas. All were very flavorful. Nothing was bland at all. I liked how the meat was charred because it brought out the flavors. It was a friend’s birthday so, they did the birthday song and shot or dessert. No. SHOT! Good stuff! I’ll be back.

Not what I expected. I was highly referred to this place by a friend. I tried it, and it was incredibly noisy, and the service was very very slow. My girlfriend asked for Sprite and the waitress, when she rarely refilled it, she pored water into it. The Grilled Chicken on Rice was great, but after we finished, we sat for 15 minutes without the waitress seeing us or refilling our drinks. Unsatisfactory.

For a mexican retraunt this place is consistenty good! Prices are not steep. The burrito san josé and burrito fajita are 2 of my faves! The chori pollo is really good too. Bean dip is good. The best app is the camarones gratinados(shrimp and onions and cheese). I didn’t like the chicken and spinach dish. White sauce and red sauce is really good.

I’ve given this Plaza a few tries, and it’s always been pretty mediocre. However, after last night’s experience I’ll probably never return. We sat on the patio & ordered our drinks. A friend & I both ordered the jumbo margaritas, which were pretty good. My boyfriend had a huge beer. We wanted to sip on our drinks for a little bit, enjoy the chips, & look over the menu before we ordered. Our waitress wasn’t having that, she kept coming back for our order even though we explained that we would like a few more minutes(they weren’t busy & we were there around 7pm). I don’t think she understood much english, because she looked very confused each time. We finally just went ahead and ordered so she would stop. The salsa scared me a bit, because it had a kimchi taste. I love me some kimchi, but there is no way that salsa should taste like fermented cabbage. I ordered the tilapia vera cruz which sounded pretty tasty on the menu description. It said rice or mashed potatoes, I decided to try the mashed potatoes. Waitress wasn’t having that either because I was served rice. Whatevs, it looked tasty so I took my first bite. O.M.G…it tasted like a pitcher of salt was used making it. I get that mexican food is salty, but dudes this was the saltiest thing I have ever had. I’m still suffering from dry mouth this morning. After she dropped our food she quit returning, so the manager came out and offered to get us more drinks. He was friendly, so that was a plus. Disappointing way to pay $ 65 for blah service & gross food.

Four of us went for dinner, and we all ordered different things and everything was delicious. We didn’t leave anything on the plates! We got an enchilada dish with four different enchiladas, the burrito de la ruleta, the burrito san jose, and the burrito de la mex, and they were some of the best burritos we have ever had. The margaritas were decent, and the spicy guacamole that Miranda made at the table and was also delicious. The outside patio had a great atmosphere and Gabi our server was on the ball bringing chips and refills almost before we knew we needed them! We will definitely be back.
