Well very nervous after reading some of the reviews but pleasantly surprised. Service was good and food came out quickly. Food was delicious had the chicken breast with citris glaze and my husband had the north beach Alfredo fettuccine. The flavors were excellent. For dessert we had the chocolate cake. It was my birthday so had to have. It was really good. We are here 4 more days so i am sure we will be back at least for the drinks.

We ate here after arriving down here from New York. It was close to where we were staying, so we gave it a try. Basically a burger place, they were fair, but nothing special. Waitress forgot our shrimp appetizer, but I doubt we missed much. Only if you are starving would I go back.

Food was average but they still were kind enough to accept us couple minutes of closing.

They still let us in even though they were closing – Which was super nice. Their service was way better than their food. She Crab Soup was salty and the sliders were dry. Won’t come back again.

Me and my family went to this restaurant looking for some tasty food, as we just took a 5 hour journey from PA. If we knew what was to come, believe me, we would’ve been long gone before the food was even served! As we entered, everything just looked so tired and worn out– the waitresses, the customers, the atmosphere, just everything. Right off the bat, the waitresses were not attentive and did not seem interested in waiting us. Our waitress ‘Kate’ was clueless and lost as she was taking our orders and handing us, especially when handling my cousin’s order as she has a few food allergies. The food was mediocre at best, and one of our member’s order was wrong and he ended up going somewhere else to eat. All in all, if you want to waste your hard earned money on room temperature food and airhead waitresses, go here.

We live about 2 hours away from Virginia Beach, and one of the things we try to do when having a beach day is to make the drive, eat lunch somewhere, and then spend a day on the beach. For some reason, finding a place that is beach front that isn’t super fancy and super high priced seems to be a bit of a difficult task. –Food: We were in the mood for something seafood-y, but didn’t want«Fresh catch of the day» type stuff, so we opted for a Fish and Chips, Shrimp Basket, and an order of Tuna Bites. The Tuna Bites were the highlight in my opinion, cooked medium well and seasoned with a spicy cajun seasoning. They were juicy and tasty, and I’d totally order them again. We ordered the fish and shrimp with fries and onion rings as sides(nothing like a fried lunch!). The fish was my personal favorite out of all of the items on both plates, but after a while it was a bit heavy. I would expect that from a fried fish plate, but it set in pretty hard towards the end. The shrimp wasn’t bad, the fries pretty good, and onion rings pretty good, but not better or worse than typical diner fare. One of the reasons we came here over surrounding places is that the menu was diverse to include a lot of options. As opposed to some of the lunch places that have only 5 or 6 options to choose from, North Beach Bar and Grill has things like burgers, seafood, sandwiches, and other lunchy items. Basically what I’m saying is that if you’re with a family that has varying food preferences, there will be something that someone will want. –Cost: I don’t recall paying more than $ 30 for both of our meals and the appetizer, so really it’s pretty good for the area. There might be cheaper places, but the quantity of food was worth the price. –Service: My biggest gripe is the service here. Now, the waiter was really pretty nice, that’s not the problem, but it probably took us 15 minutes to get our order in after sitting down, 15 or 20 minutes after ordering to get our food, and 15 minutes to be brought the check after eating. The worst part is that there were only a couple other people dining here, and no more than 6 parties at the end. We were spending a day at the beach and since this is beachfront it wasn’t terrible given the views and people watching available, but it was an extra 40 minutes just sitting there. –Atmosphere: I alluded to this, but the view is really quite nice. The restaurant has a covered patio that is facing towards the ocean, so you get all the breeze and none of the sun. It’s a nice and comfortable atmosphere. –Overall: I would probably lean more towards a 4 if the service wasn’t so long, but all together it was a good experience. Decent food and while it’s not spectacular, it’s within a comfortable budget, comes with a nice view, and has a menu item for most anyone. While I would come here again, I wouldn’t be above looking for another lunch place either, maybe one with a little bit less of a wait.

This Restaurant is Directly on Virginia Beach. While Sitting on the Outdoor Veranda, You Can Enjoy Your Favorite Beverage AND a Easily Relaxing Meal. The Atmosphere Overtakes the Food, and The Drink Specials Also Help.

Stopped in for dinner after a walk on the board walk and at first we were not happy because we had been seated and it took about 15 minutes for a server to come over. When we finally had someone come over she was very apologetic she was an awesome waitress. The food was very good definitely a spot to try!!!

Huge Disappointment! We will never, ever be returning. There were so many issues — from waiting 25 – 30 minutes for our drinks to having to get our own refills. While we were waiting to get a refill, the waitress stood in the kitchen talking. When a waiter finally came to get refills(our first after already getting our drinks 25 – 30 minutes after ordering them), I explained that several of us had already gotten one from the bar. He said, «That’s fine.» No apology. The hamburgers were burnt. Sent one back and the new one came out burnt. Let me be clear and say that there were only about 10 other customers when we were there(a table of 4 came after us). Time and/or being busy can not apply as an excuse. There was absolutely no excuse for this terrible service. No excuse.

We had one of our best dinners here. Excellent food, nice size servings. This is what I go out to dinner for. Drinks were well priced. Very happy with this place and would recommend it for anyone.

Pretty bad. I don’t normally write reviews but had to for this. My husband and I stopped here for a drink and an appitizer. We ordered chicken nachos which were horrible. A mound of chips which a few tomatoes and red onions, a sprrinkle of cold chicken and what seemed like cheese whiz for cheese. We ate the top portion as we were hungry but couldn’t take any more. We mentioned to Kristina our waitress who took the pile of chips back. She came back and said she would take 20% off our bill. We got the bill and they took 20% off the nachos only. Very disappointing.

What a pleasant surprise. Location is great, in front of the beach… that’s why we decided to try it. So glad we did. I had pasta, my husband and my parents had the salmon. Everything was very well prepared, the food tasted very good and fresh, and the server was attentive and polite. The only thing we wanted was more options of fresh fish.

Since we were staying at the Hampton Inn, we thought we’d try their restaurant. Not a good decision. Like a previous reviewer, we found no one at the stand where the sign says«wait for hostess.» After a minute or two, we entered the dining area. The only employee available was the bartender — who totally ignored us. He was too busy watching the baseball game. When a waitress came out of the kitchen, we asked to be seated and were. The waitress was very pleasant, but it was her first day so she was not familiar with the entrees. My wife, being from New England and a big fan of mussels, ordered them, and I ordered the cheeseburger. One taste of the mussels was enough for my wife — she said they tasted«bad,» and we sent them back and asled that they take them off our bill. We notified the waiter who had taken over for the new employee, so my wife ended up sharing my cheeseburger. Not a bad burger, actually, but for $ 12.95, not great. To the restaurant’s credit, they did not charge for the mussels — we would not have paid for them. The manager wished us a good evening as we left, but did not ask if we had enjoyed our meal. Probably just as well. On a positive note, the outdoor seating area is delightful, with a lovely view of the beach and a cool breeze. With some management attention to detail, this could be an excellent restaurant. Certainly the location couldn’t be better.

IF I COULDGIVETHISPLACE0STARS I WOULD!!! I totally did not enjoy my experience at this place. Firstly it took over 45 minutes for us to get our starters. Then when the starters came out it was as if they had made our meal stand for a while-it was not warm, tasted stale etc. As if it couldn’t get any worse when our entrée finally arrived 2 of the 4 orders were wrong. The waiter-Randy did however try and correct the mistake by giving us a 20% discount. However my review will not change because this is something that should have never happened to begin with.

Pleasantly surprised for a restaurant located in a Hampton Inn. We actually went here because of the Unilocal reviews. We came in about 8pm on a Thursday night and had terrific service. Great drink specials. Had a really good bloody mary for $ 4. We got the NY strip that came with two sides. The steak was cooked PERFECTLY. Onion rings on the side were nice and crispy. We also got the ½ pound burger with a side of broccoli. The burger was awesome, honestly one of the better burgers I have had in a while. Broccoli was fresh and steamed just enough. Right on the boardwalk so the views are great. Our waitress could not have been nicer.
Ordered an appetizer and the main course came out before my appetizer. More than likely, that is the fault of the waiter and not the kitchen. For my main course, I had fettuccine Alfredo… On a scale of 1 — 10, I would rate the fettuccine Alfredo a 3. My wife had a hamburger cooked well done… However, she asked for it medium. Obviously, the waiter is not responsible for the food quality. It cost quite a bit for bar food. I don’t think it’s worth another chance… The one positive thing this restaurant has going for it is that the location is good and it is nice to be able to eat outside under cover with views of the boardwalk and ocean. Overall, based on wait staff incompetence and low quality cooking, I rate this experience a 2 out of 5. Although a great location, the food quality and the below par service weigh more heavily on the rating. Apparently other have had a better food quality experience, but it appears fairly clear that the service is consistently sub-standard. FYI… The table next to me was talking about how greasy their food was and actually were upbeat enough to joke about it rather than complain. Maybe they had low expectations… lol

Service, Meh. No one at hostess stand – had to walk over to bar to get bartender to seat us, and at least one wait person looked straight at us. Once seated, wait person was good, although she didn’t come back during the meal to check on us. No silverware on table, had to request. Food would rate a 4.5, though. Crab cake with shrimp and lobster mixed in was excellent, as were the baby baked potatoes. Salmon cake was good, not great. Flavor could have been more enhanced, spices somewhat overwhelmed salmon flavor. Could have benefitted from a sauce, rather than sour cream dipping sauce. Restaurant very clean, in Hampton Inn. Not memorable
