Best sushi in VA Beach. Hands down. Beat out my other two favorites of over a year easily. Incredible quality fish, which is the most important, but also awesome staff.

Great place!!! Love love love the Sea In Japan roll, the Spicy Volcano, and the Twin Tower! I eat a lot of sushi in a lot of places. This is a gem!

This is BEST small sushi spot in the area! The sushi chefs are an expert in their craft and their presentations are always immaculate! Once you get to know them, you will learn they are a warm and friendly bunch! There are plenty of tables for large parties and even booths where you can remove your shoes and eat Japanese style! I enjoy sitting at the sushi bar where every once in a while you may get a freebie from the chefs. This is definitely a place I enjoy for relaxing while I have some saki and a couple pieces of nigiri sushi and rolls. I highly recommend Inaka to everyone I speak to looking for a good sushi spot!

Best sushi in va. beach. love love this place. Little best kept secret in va. beach. The sushi is always fresh and the staff is very nice. They also have bogo ½ off on sushi rolls.

Pretty good spicy tuna. They use a lot of panko crumbs, and it gives the roll a nice crunch. They are pricey. My husband and I ordered 4 regular rolls and 2 miso soups and our bill was $ 30.

Lunch special was two rolls with a bowl of miso soup for $ 10. Decent sushi and a reasonable deal. It was A-OK. I had the tiger eye and the Boston roll. My socks weren’t knocked off, but I think I could say that I’d return to this restaurant for dinner.

Great sushi, quaint design, reasonable prices, what more could you ask for? Sushi places in Va. Beach are tough to review and tougher to give the good as it get’s tag, because there are so many of them! Inaka is a solid offering. Really what keeps it from«As good as it gets» is a lack of imagery in the menu and creativity in the roll department. Not sure if creative rolls is required, but it’s certainly appreciated. If you’re in the area and need a sushi fix though, all the usual culprits are here, angels, rainbows and butterflies. Sashimi portion sizes were also generous.

Place is good. I am not a huge sushi fan but they also have hibachi and other cooked items too. Prices are decent and usually always a seat at the bar. Service is good and menu is good as well. It’s not unusual to get a roll on the house if you sit at the bar. Have been here several times and enjoy it.

Best sushi in the Hampton Roads area. You will have to try the Genmaicha Green Tea, Lee’s Special and the infamous Mango Roll. Clean atmosphere and great customer service.

Some days, after a hard workout at Onelife, I just want a lighter dinner of fresh sushi. Luckily, I can walk 50 yards down the sidewalk to Inaka and take something home to enjoy. The mister called in some takeout for me to pick up after my workout and our dishes were quickly prepared. Could be because there was no one in the place. no one! No idea why. I ordered Inaka soup, seaweed salad and a Boston roll. The salad and roll were stellar(though it could have done without the sauce drizzled on top), but the soup is where I deduct a star. It is described as a seafood and veggie soup. What it really is is a tofu-heavy soup with a lot of chinese cabbage and 4(yep, just 4) pieces of seafood — 1 tail-on shrimp, one grossly overcooked scallop and 2 pieces of faux something-or-other(nope. not Krab. I can identify that). I was definitely put off by the soup. Mister got a green salad(iceberg with a couple of carrots and ginger dressing), sweet potato roll and spicy tuna roll. His rolls were decent, but the sweet potato roll lacked any crunch which is something I look forward to in that roll. Not my favorite sushi place. Not my least favorite. It was good enough that I’d get some things I liked again, especially with some really competitive prices!

I’m not sure why this place is getting such good reviews. I went here last night with my friend and my husband. My friend ordered sushi which he said he could get a lot cheaper elsewhere but it was good. My husband and I got hibachi. My husband got the hibachi scallops and I got the steak and chicken. The scallops he received were the size of a quarter. The steak and chicken I received were dry and tasteless. I’ve been to a hibachi place in the Chicago area that would blow this place out of the water. I was so disappointed because I wanted good hibachi.

A charmingly kitsch rendition of a 90s-kid’s idea of a sushi restaurant. The fish, however, was rock solid. Given that we came in during a smashingly big storm at 35 minutes before close? ROCKIN’. My nigiri was well put together with flavorful rice and good cuts of fish. The knife work was imperfect but didn’t compromise the texture of the fish. My SO got the combo, which delivered a pretty shocking amount of food. I can’t comment directly, but she was really happy with the design and execution of her rolls.

I ordered the Philidelphia Bridge, which stuffed me to the brim. It was okay but I couldn’t tell much of a difference in the sushi/sashimi other than the texture.

Unclear as to why this place has mildly high reviews… There are infinitely better options in VB. While the venue is fun(they have the seating that allows you to sit cross-legged), it’s a pretty sad environment. It’s usually empty. The waitress is attentive, but sometimes it feels like she’s too attentive. I get it. If there is only three people in the restaurant, you have to stare at them. It gets awkward. Food. It’s fairly mediocre sushi. I like to judge a sushi place by its basics. If the California Roll is not very good, I can’t expect much from the other options. The special rolls are apparently somewhat satisfying, but are more pricey than they should be. They do offer a great deal where you get two rolls, salad, and soup for a set medium price.

I’ve been here before, but was greatly disappointed on my recent visit here. We ordered the sushi deluxe, one roll, and some mackerel sashimi. The sushi was warm and was obviously not fresh. Even the roll was forgettable. We were so dissatisfied with our meal that we did not finish it. The service was subpar. The server was unfriendly and inattentive even when the restaurant was not busy. Needless to say we will not be returning.

This place is wonderful! I highly recommend it even for people who might not be huge sushi fans. My husband loves to try different rolls and I normally get the chicken katsu. Yum! I love that if you sit in a booth they are sunken and you have to take off your shoes, it makes it feel very authentic! The service is always quick and the young waitress who is normally there is very good at her job. She makes sure that you have everything you need, but also doesn’t make you feel hurried or rushed. We eat here a couple times a month and have always had a great meal!

Went with a few friends here to have some sushi. It’s not bad… but it’s not all that great either. It’ll satisfy most people’s cravings for rolls. I had the twin towers and the soft shell crab. They have a nice dinner special for buy 1 and get the second half off. Nothing really to rave about, but also nothing to really criticize. There are plenty of other places around the HR area with more creative dishes!
