It sounds like this place was awesome when it existed, but based on web sleuthing, they closed in November 2015. They posted to their Facebook page in November and January that they are closed, their website is down, and they appear to be gone for good.

They were sold out of the ranch bacon. I was a little disappointed in that. The cinnamon sugar bacon was different, but I liked it. I had an open faced turkey sandwich with bacon on top and that was suuuuppperrr good. I would definitely suggest getting that dish. The eggs benedict wasn’t very good, which was a little depressing. The cheese fries were just ok. I was expecting them to be covered in melted cheese. Not just a dipping cheese sauce on the side. I’ll be back to try another dish. The stiff competition in this shore drive /great neck area will help this business out. When there is an hour wait at other near by restaurants this place is a viable option for breakfast.

If you have ever been out to breakfast/brunch and felt the disappointment of your side of bacon being a floppy lifeless disaster, worry not. There is a Valhalla of crispy porcine goodness within reach. Amidst the insanely overpacked joints, like Cirtus, lies the House of Bacon. House cured bacon slabs, each day offering a new variety sure to tantalize the self proclaimed bacon snobs. Today I had the cinnamon nutmeg variety alongside the Chix Beach frittata. Nothing better to partner a spinach-asparagus-avocado egg delight than a salty-sweet helping of crisp cinnamon bacon. Then I was gifted enough to be the guinea pig for a new beverage I will affectionately dub«Liquid Breakfast.» Jameson whiskey and peach schnapps with orange juice poured over, with a crunchy bacon swizzle to dress up. The end result is a maple syrupy orangy alternative to the usual mimosa. The eclectic yet still iconic American brunchfast menu is sure to please everyone, from sweet pancakes to the savory Benedict. And always a plus is the stocked bar, complete with craft beers. I advise anyone sick of waiting an hour to be sat for brunch to forgo that nonsense and stop in at HOB. You will not be disappointed, I mean, unless you LIKE floppy sad bacon…

We visited this place after a wedding for some good breakfast food — we were not disappointed! The staff was amazing and we met the owner who chatted us up for awhile. Good people, good food, good atmosphere — thank you for the grub!!!

I really like this place. Of course found it on Unilocal & it’s a pretty decent find ! I got the bacon quesadilla it was good but I forgot to tell them to hold the onions. I also was able to redeem an offer for the bacon sampler the best one is Texas Pete. The cinnamon & nutmeg wasn’t bad either. I would come back

I go for one thing: the BLT. It rocks! And the mango mimosas are super yummy! The server has been very nice and attentive every time.

What a great concept for a restaurant right?! I mean who doesn’t love bacon! Well I wish I could say our visit was a grand slam, but the food and service unfortunately fell short. The appetizers came out after our meals, the orders were not right, and food did not leave you wanting more. I ordered the CB Benedict and when it came out both eggs were cooked all the way through as opposed to a typical benny with a runny center. I figured okay it’s a big group, little mistake, no biggie. I asked to have the chef remake it, but when my second order came out the eggs were STILL cooked all the way through! Word to the wise if you are looking for a good brunch spot that nails their bennies every time, along with everything else on the menu, go just around the corner to BAYLOCAL!!! Now they do it right!

The name of this restaurant masks just how amazing this restaurant really is. I went in a little skeptical, and came out and absolute believer. The waitress we had was caring and attentive, quick with relevant suggestions and drink refills. I haven’t had such good service in a long time. The main draw of the restaurant is of course the bacon, which the cure in-house. We ordered a bacon sampler with is 1 strip each of 3 kinds of bacon(Texas Pete, garlic, and original). Each was better than the next, crispy on the outside and delightfully soft in the middle. The flavors really worked well with the bacon and gave it a little something extra. I ordered the eggs Benedict. I was not disappointed. Instead of Canadian bacon, they changed it to bacon and crab meat. Add old bay bacon to the mix and it was absolutely delicious. For dessert there was a bacon chcocolate peanut butter brownie with warm chocolate drizzle. You have to try it to believe just how good it is. The place is small and quaint, with a full bar. Go. You will not be disappointed.

We came here for breakfast, was not too busy when we got there and got seated right away. The place looked clean. We ordered the bacon breakfast burritos, a side of regular pancakes and a side of blueberry pancakes. The burrito was really good, the potatoes were cooked perfectly and it had the perfect combination of ingredients. It was big enough for my wife to save half of the burrito to take home. I was not impressed by the pancakes but then you don’t come here for pancakes but for bacon… The pancakes were a little on the chewy side. Our waitress was friendly and prompt. She was on top of refilling my coffee and any other needs we had. By the time we got our check there was a line out of the door trying to get a table.

My friend and I wanted to try something new. So we found this place one morning and looked like a hit and boy was it a good experience. The atmosphere is a small cozy diner feel. Clean place and the wait staff were friendly as well. I’m a morning person and I need my coffee first thing, it was better than most other places I usually go to. It tasted like a columbian brew; whatever it was it was good. My friend and I have never been here before but they flavor and cure their own bacon; how rad. The waitress started us off with our coffee, water, and a sampler of bacon to try out. I had the eggs benedict and dry wheat toast. My friend had the morning platter. It came with a lot of food. I absolutely loved my breakfast. Nice lump crab meat, juicy bacon, and fresh tomatoes complimented the dish well. My friends french toast looked mouth watering as well; he said it was really good. Overall it was an awesome experience. I will be coming back.

Bacon?! Yeah, I love bacon. What red-blooded, God fearing, football watching American doesn’t? So, you can imagine the joy I felt when I learned of a «house of bacon» right here in my own backyard! What’s that you say? A Unilocal coupon for $ 30 of bacon for only $ 15?! Sign me up! Stopped by late morning on a Monday. Place was empty, and we were promptly greeted and told to choose a seat to our liking. The server was very polite, and helpful in our menu choices/providing recommendations. The bacon selections for the day were traditional, old bay, and general tso’s. I ordered a bacon Bloody Mary, which came with two slices of old bay bacon. This was THEBEST Bloody Mary I’ve had in recent memory. Mixed with bacon vodka, it was delicious! I ordered the bacon monte cristo with traditional bacon, with a side of general tso’s bacon, so I could try all 3 daily selections. The sandwich came with your choice of bacon, turkey, cheese, between two slices of French toast. It was pretty on point. My main dissatisfaction with this restaurant is the bacon. They told us all bacon was cured in house. I believe it, but the flavor profiles, and the cuts of bacon, left a lot to be desired. Quite honestly, if you were given a sample of all three choices of bacon, it would be hard to tell the difference. I expected a thick cut bacon, perhaps baked(if you haven’t had baked bacon, you don’t know how good bacon can be), but it was just your standard thin sliced, pan cooked bacon. Overall, the quality of service and food were great, but if you’re going to call yourself«house of bacon», you should present your main ingredient with a little more culinary finesse. I would eat here, it’s a great experience, but don’t expect to be blown away by the bacon.

House of Bacon is breakfast perfected. The menu is incredibly well rounded and includes a favorite for everyone. The bacon is the star without overpowering all the other great flavors in the dishes. This is unquestionably my new favorite breakfast place. Be sure to all for Renee! The entire staff is friendly and helpful, but she is the best.

We usually eat at Citrus, which ironically we found this little eatery is located next door to them… Nonetheless, we tried this establishment and LOVE it!!! First our waitress Elle was fantastic!!! She was friendly, knowledgable and professional, one of the best waitress ever and I would know, we eat out 5 days a week and I have dined literally all over the world(military). The food was fresh, it taste GREAT!!! The prices for the Mimosa was very reasonable! The whole experience is A+!!!

I consider my husband & I the breakfast buddy’s of va beach, breakfast is our favorite meal of the day & we love trying out new places to eat. Ate here this morning 5/15, and we were excited & pleased to add another favorite breakfast place to our list! I had 2 eggs, home fries, bacon, rye toast– everything was perfectly cooked– even the coffee was delicious!, not weak or too strong. My husband ordered– french toast, eggs, bacon– he said was excellent… bacon is different from the average but yummy… fast & friendly service as well! .was a little chilly inside the restaurant but I’m cold natured so for those that are same don’t forget to bring a sweater. Love this place!

Bacon, incredible.. the rest… leaves something to be desired. Gravy is poured, wait, smothered on ur eggs Benedict. Potatoes are not cooked and the grits are a shame. i recommend 5 plates of bacon with nothing else. They do have the bacon down pat, but the culinary skills seriously lack.

I went to Uncle Rich’s this morning to try out their new Bacon menu. I have had decent food from them in the past and am appreciative of the support they give my rescue squad. Today I tried the Eggs Benedict with crab and bacon. Uncle Rich’s has been around for a while. They changed their menu recently to go after a market niche and set themselves out to be unique but the interior is sort of drab and the food is still mostly diner fare. The Benedict this morning was good but the bacon was so prominent that the crab was completely overshadowed. The eggs were perfect, but there should have been a side(not that I would have had room). It’s relatively good overall, but the food quality does not reach the level set by the neighboring restaurants Citrus and Bay Local, or even Dish. They still have a ways to go. I do recommend this restaurant for casual dining. They are only open for breakfast and lunch, but are a short walk to the bay or the park to work off the calories afterwards. They have a great drinks menu with mimosas and craft beers and the like. The wait staff is friendly and parking is easy. So yeah, they’re not Citrus or Bay Local. Maybe they don’t want to be? And that’s ok. They’ve got bacon. Lots of it!

Was not all impressed with this place. The staff is friendly, but lacked in service skills. Got the Bacon Monte Cristo, big disappointment! I My wife got the Chris’ Benedict Benny, another disappointment, to make it worse, her dish didn’t even have crab meat like it was supposed to have. Some local hole-in-the-wall places like this should never be be found. Seal up the hole is all I have to say.

There are a lot of mixed reviews about this place so we were hesitant about going, however Unilocal was offering a deal($ 15 for $ 30) so we decided to go for it. We had 2 dishes the: THE«INHONOROFFORDSHAWANDHISMARINES» PLATTER: Two scrambled eggs and French Toast with heaping portions of Bacon, sausage, and ham with a side of hash and toast. Overall this was tasty and I would get it again, but you should know the following… the ham is a thin slice of deli ham that is heated on the grill(tasted good), the hash browns are simply a cubed potato that has been grilled(did not seem to have any seasoning on it including salt), the eggs(which also lacked seasoning) reminded me of the premixed kind that come out of a carton(my husband disagreed). There was a lack of seasoning on the sides, but I think this may have been intentional so that it would not compete with the General Tso’s bacon(which BTW was amazing!) If you got a bite of the potato &/or egg with anything else on the plate you didn’t miss the seasoning. The other dish at our table was the THEBACONBREAKFASTBURRITO Bacon, eggs, potatoes, and cheddar-jack with a side of salsa and sour cream. My husband had no complaints about this. I tried it as well and have nothing bad to say(it was tasty). Overall we enjoyed our visit. We found the food to be tasty & the service to be friendly… what more can you ask for!
