Nice selection of beer. Service was Good! Chicken sandwich were terrible, Fish and chips great, I thought it was over priced.

Nothing remarkable about the place but if you’re hungry and want to eat by the ocean I’d say go for it. I had the calamari and have to say it was awful, but chicken Caesar salad was good. My beer helped wash it all down. Service was adequate but again, nothing special. For $ 50 on Virginia beach i walk away hoping to find something better tomorrow

Went with some friends from work the other night while the service was good and the food was good. We were disappointed in the fact that a tap house was out of like 4 different beers. Other than that it was a ok experience I would try them again if I knew that they had all the brews listed.

Dave was a sweet angel. We came because we heard about their bloody marys, but found out the Bloody Mary bar is only open Saturday and Sunday. He got us a Bloody Mary anyway! He was very attentive and cool. He seems like the kind of guy that makes artisanal canoes by hand. That’s a compliment. He was telling another table about other cool places to drink, and that was pretty cool of him. He emptied our ashtray between cigarettes. Who does that? Dave, that’s who.

FOOD: Mediocre food, indeed, for the price you pay. Calamari rings breaded too much that it looked like little hush puppies & the rings were smaller than a size of pennies. Not very much to choose from.
DRINKS: Had a martini and was ok. I’m sure the brews they have is good.
SERVICE: We were seated ASAP ocean front patio area, but had to wait for an extreme amount of time for food. The server did not return after we got our food also, and of course, no silverware provided. Ordered an easy burger (cheese and lettuce only), but it came missing the lettuce). Though the server apologized by saying she had several tables inside & that she’d make sure to check on us more often, but didn’t. You’d think after that she’d make the extra effort, but she did not. I’ve observed that other servers may have been going back in and out, but they checked on their tables frequently. Waited for the server to get our bill, to no avail. Had to ask the a bus staff to get our bill. I finally got the bill and walked back inside to literally pay the server right then and there, because I was afraid to wait another 10 mins or so, for her to come back to our table.
Will not return and we live in the area.

The service was absolutely terrible. We went for a late lunch in early May, before the rush of tourist season. They were about half full inside and on the patio. The wait staff acted like we were an inconvenience, bordering on down right rude. It took close to an hour for our food to come out. The food was mediocre and definitely not worth enduring the awful service and long wait.

Great selection of draft beers. Prices were reasonable considering the location. People upset with the price need to realize the location. Food was solid. Really cannot complain.

Had been in Virginia Beach for about 2 days already with my Mother and two children and every place we eat at seemed the same. Until we walked pass this place. The smoky girl smell is what caught our attention and we just had to try. I wish we had found this place earlier! Great Drinks, food and Service. Our waiter Dave was very personable and helpful when looking for other great places to eat!

Really overpriced for mediocre food. We tried the caesar salad and soup. The caesar salad was ridiculous how it was served; it was just 2 whole stalks of romaine lettuce with the tomatoes and balsamic dressing at the base of the stalks. I had to get another plate and cut my own salad and then transfer the dressing to what I cut. What do they do with a regular salad, give you a whole head of lettuce and then stick it on a plate?
The soup was so blah. It was a «beefy onion soup». I was thinking something like a french onion soup… I was wrong. It was a thin, watery beef broth with a little bits of beef at the bottom. No croutons or cheese. Really!
Besides the bad food the prices were very high. Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else.

The food is amazing, borderline gourmet the service is always great and I was pleased that there was a baby changing table in the men’s room. As a mom of newborn twins, being able to take the evening off from diaper duty and enjoy my meal was fantastic.
The seating is a bit awkward, as the tables are arranged in such a way that you may bump your neighbor and servers have to weave in and out, so I would recommend a booth if you want personal space. Otherwise, it’s a fun, lively atmosphere with a good selection of drinks and friendly staff.

I’ve been meaning to check out this place multiple times and finally came around to it on a late Saturday afternoon. Didn’t stay here long, just dropped by for a few drinks. They did have happy hour on a Saturday, though! I think it was $ 2 off and buy one get one ½ off appetizers. They have local beers on draft, as well as some seasonal beers, a good selection. I haven’t tried any of their food so I can’t make a review on that. We sat at the bar and the service was great. I’ll have to come back when it is warmer!

I ate here on Monday and Tuesday this week around 6 PM. The restaurant is right on the beach and parking is on the street I believe (I walked from hotel). It has a very big bar with inside and outside seating (you can see the ocean from many of the tables. It is rustic and has a full bar and great selection of draught beer (+1). My colleague and I both had the grilled scallops with fries and a side salad. There was a sauce that came on it but I asked for mine on the side. It was tangy and I did not care for it much but that is because I am not crazy about sauces on my steak or seafood. My colleague liked his.
On the second day, sat at the bar with about 5 other people working with us. I had the meat pizza and while it was very good and cheesy, it was pretty small (but was an appetizer) but they skimped on the sausage which was a disappointment. I was still hungry so ordered a half and half order of fries and onion rings… fries were typical and OK and onion rings were OK too but what you would get out of a frozen bag so OK.
The service was great both days and we were able to sample the different craft beers and picked a local brew. It is on the beach, service was good, it was very comfortable and prices were reasonable. I would give it a 3+.

We went to the Taphouse for the first time to check it out. We were seated quickly, as the dining room was a little less than half full. Then we waited… and waited… and waited. After about 15 mins, I started playing a game with myself: try to make eye contact with a server/​try to figure out who is supposed to be our server. After 20 mins, a nice enough waiter came by to take our drink orders, explaining that he was helping out the guy who was our server. He promised that our drinks would be more timely. Well that didn’t happen, another 5 minutes with no drinks or a greeting from our supposed waiter, we were out.
I’m giving two stars because the food looked pretty good and I’m going to give it the benefit of the doubt. Hopefully the server situation was an anomaly… I’m baffled how a waitstaff could let a table go 25 mins without so much as a greeting… it’d be one thing if they were busy, but each server had maybe 2 tables. I’m going to need a cooling off period before I try again.

3 stars for being seated quickly in the height of tourist season and for the great service. Our server was fantastic. The food though — it’s A-​OK as the rating suggests. You won’t slap your Mom after you eat here… but you won’t be terribly sad either. Nice view, pub-​like atmosphere. The floor can be slippery so a server was refreshing the floor with salt to prevent slips and falls (great idea!). I would probably go back again — it’s not terrible — but the menu just didn’t hit the spot for us. So after looking at it repeatedly I settled for a burger. It was okay — beer was cold. maybe a menu revamp would help. I have talked to a few friends as well who agree.

Cool place to go for a beer and some pub food. We sat outside on the patio (they have two outdoor patios). We were sitting to the left and some of the people passing by were not the classiest bunch IMO. If we return, we would probably not sit at this spot again. I think the outdoor patio facing the beach probably has a more pleasant atmosphere.
We didn’t order any appetizers, just beer and burgers. I liked that they give a choice of a side with your burger — fruit cup, fries, cole slaw, or onion rings. I got the fruit cup and my husband order the fries. Both were good.
I’m giving this place three stars for their service, food, and draft beer selection, all of which were good. The area that I think could be improved is their table arrangements outside. Their tables are so close together, we were unable to sit down and moved to another table. The chairs were not the most comfortable I’ve sat on either but the seating is something that can be easily fixed if they choose to change it in the future.

Visiting the boardwalk again, was a sheer treat in and of itself, but the draw to this restaurant was the special on Bloody Marys; unfortunately, we missed it, but were in time for the beer & well-​brand special. But since I came for The Bloody Marys, that’s what I had & I WAS NOT DISAPPOINTED. The Grey-​Goose Vodka Bloody Mary was all too tasty & I’m not a Blood Mary drinker, but I’ll try anything ONCE, twice if I Like it. It was spicy enough, with spices draping the rim; but not too spicy that it was unbearable. Yummy, yummy…
As stated, our server, Sean or Shawn, was ever too pleasant, patient, knowledgable & informative. He entertained our comments, gave suggestions & his opinion, when asked. He was attentive & made us feel like his only table, which I personally know what not the case.
Now… the food. I guess maybe I expected too much, while tasty, I expected more, post Bloody Mary drinking. My fellow diners found the food to be average as well. Average is not bad, just not what I anticipated. Normally, good food & good drinks go hand in hand; but again, the food wasn’t bad, just not what I anticipated. The lobster dip, was ok & bruschetta was ok as well, but the surfers muscles, ehhhh the blue cheese crumbles & the sauce made it quite unappealing. All in all, like I said, the food was ok; where the 1^st two were average, the 3^rd dish was blah…
Again, loved the boardwalk, the ambience, the drinks… but next time, if there’s a next time, I’ll stick to a Bloody Mary & sliders or a burger. :/

This was the first place my boyfriend and I dined for dinner on our vacation to Virginia Beach and we really enjoyed it. The outdoor seating on the beach is average. The staff was very friendly. And they had a great happy hour. My boyfriend got four whiskey cokes for about $ 12. Cannot beat that!
The food was good. My boyfriend has their habanero burger with fries. He said it had great flavor and was cooked just as he asked. The fries were basic frozen but worked. I had a crab cake sandwich with a side of fruit. The crab cakes was not the best we had that week but it was still tasty. I wish it didn’t have so much fillers. And the fruit was probably a day old. Slimy and not cold.
Would I go again? Totally! We loved the staff and the people we met as well. And they have plenty of other food to offer that I’d love to try.

Good burger — just a plain and simple one that was the right size and cooked as I ordered it. Onion rings were pretty good.
The beer list in this sports bar is great — a few pages long and a long row of taps as well. Really great to see.
Tip: :Sit outside by the beach.
