I used this business in the fall when I my computer was not operating correctly. They took it in and I was called later in the day that the video card failed. A couple of days later I was called and the computer was fixed. Great service and at a great price. I now go to their new store in O.P. as it is very close to my house. Both very good places to have your apple products fixed.

Unfortunately, I cannot recommend the MacSpecialist store. As much as I hate to write any negative reviews about anyone, I think everyone should be aware of their lack of customer service. I brought my iMac in to get a larger capacity hard drive. I also told them that I wanted the data from my old hard drive transferred to my new hard drive(cloning). After a week, I arrived back at TKC Innovative Solutions, INC. dba MacSpecialist and brought my iMac home. I turned it on and I was so unhappy. There was a bunch of dust stuck between the glass and the computer monitor image. Also, the files I had on my original computer were not cloned to the new hard drive. I called them up and told front desk employee John about the dust. He immediately said, «That’s not from us.» I said, «Well, it wasn’t there when I brought my computer in.» He looked up my service order and said, «Oh, you have an iMac! Okay, that could have happened. I assumed you had a laptop. Sorry, bring it in.» Talk about a nice way to blame your customers. Then, I told him about the files that weren’t cloned over and he said to bring it in. I brought my iMac in and John was in the parking lot, leaving for his midday bike ride. I said, «I think I spoke with you on the phone.» He said, «Yea, looks like I’m leaving at the right time. Go ahead inside. I told them about you.» Okay? So, I go inside and the service person proceeds to tell me how their service shop(unlike Apple’s factory) is not a dust free environment. I get that, but don’t give my computer back with a bunch of dust stuck between the glass. I didn’t pay for that. I also told him about the programs that weren’t cloned. He said that their labor fee was for cloning OR uploading a new operating system. Keyword… OR. I told him that was never explained to me and he said, «Well, we can’t explain everything that might go wrong.» Apparently, without doing some major technological heavy lifting, they were unable to transfer all the files from the old hard drive. They agreed to try and remove the dust and put some of the software back on my computer. However, I would have to dig around and find original serial numbers and product keys from my previous hard drive install to get the software working. What a disaster! I sat in the lobby area while they fixed it. Another guy was answering a phone call about the iPad2. He said, «No, we haven’t received our shipment yet.» After hanging up, he said to a lady in line, «Apple told us to tell people we don’t have our shipment yet. I don’t know what’s going on with those iPad2’s. I’m not sure if I can tell you that. Apple will get mad at me.» Interesting dialogue for an Apple certified service center. After working on it for about 15 minutes, the technician came back with my computer. Guess what? It still had dust stuck in the glass. At this point, I couldn’t believe it. I looked at him. He looked at me with a «what do you want me to do about it?» kind of look. He was raising his voice at me-saying the moment he takes it off and cleans it, more dust gets stuck. He offered to clean the glass one more time in front of me. The third time seemed to be a charm, but not without being insulted multiple times and just feeling plain disgusted. Some of my software still remains uninstalled and my computer was never the same after bringing it to MacSpecialist. I will never go back there and recommend others to bring their Apple products to a different service center.

The crew at MacSpecialist is always super helpful and friendly. I have been to their Ableton Live events at the downtown store and they are awesome. And yes, they sell Ableton and upgrades… go check them out!
