Nice job this time around. Easy parking, warmly greeted and attentive waiter. We had carpaccio, homemade pasta, Bronzino fish, crabs, lasagna and some newly introduced dessert. The crabs were outstanding.

Vegetarian lasagna is awesome! Creamy, mushroomy, rich. A little expensive but worth it.

I’ve been living in Northern VA for about 6 years and looking for a place with excellent Italian food without any luck before coming to Pazzo Pomodoro. Let me be straight, in this reataurant you get excellent food with great service in an very cozy and well maintained place for a very reasonable price. I can easily compare the service and the food in Pazzo Pomodoro with places like Tosca(in DC) and believe me you will not pay the high-end restaurant prices. In summary, please hear a foodie and visit this restaurant.

I can’t believe I lived in Vienna when this popped up and this is my first time here. What a shame because I have been missing out for quite a while. Three of us I stopped in on a Friday night around 8, we got 3 seats at the bar. Wes, Mike, and Dan were behind the bar– they were all lovely and accommodating and really blending with the guests, it felt like everyone in the bar was friends– love it. I had the ORECCHIETTEDELICATO –House made ear shaped pasta served with shrimp & zucchini in a light pesto cream sauce– All. The. Yes. So so good. I can’t wait to come back. speaking of which, there is an event here to raise awareness and support for The Adult Congenital Heart Association(ACHA). I will definitely be attending! Thanks again for a great night.

I visited this establishment with some co-workers for lunch after having read some of the positive reviews from other Unilocalers. While there are sandwiches and pastas served on the menu, we specifically came to gorge ourselves on pizza. The pizzas are just enough for one person, although we all left with to-go boxes with one or two slices. I ordered a cup of minestrone soup in advance of my pizza. The soup was a bit bland and not terribly interesting. I ordered the Caldo E Speziato. Essentially a spicy pepperoni and cheese pizza. Can’t get any righter than that! The pizzas are of the Neapolitan variety and I quite enjoyed my pizza. It had just the right amount of cheese and sauce. The spicy pepperoni added a nice little kick as well. Service was great and we were all very pleased! Consider us return customers. ;-)

Bottom line: I lived in Italy and this place is the real deal. — I had the herb crusted shrimp — highly recommend. — My dad had the chicken parmesan — also highly recommend. — All pasta great. — Limoncello after — yum — They make the gelato at the store next door. They apparently went over to Italy four times to learn how to make it. It’s loud, so be okay with that. We’d bring our kids and not miss a beat in terms of the noise level. They have a room you can close off for parties.

PAZZZOOO!!! One of the best places in the town of Vienna. Jimmy, the owner, could not be a nicer person. They take care of you at Pazzo with atmosphere, cleanliness, and large portions. One of my favorites of the fried swordfish. Oooo baby I love that! Thanks Pazzo!

This is the place to be if you want well cooked delicious and creative Italian food. We had the beets, goat cheese & arugula salad, Lasagna w egg & meatballs, fettuccine w walnut cream sauce, pine nuts, and chestnuts. The salad was fresh and light. The entrees were hot, seasoned perfectly(no need for salt). The pasta was cooked el dente not chewy but a savory density that left you wanting more. Perfectly balanced portions in a simplistic presentation. Great atmosphere where the red & white checked cloth tables are close but not too close with lively conversations & clanking dishes are your entertainment. To top off a satisfying meal what better than gelato & a warm biscotti w a caramel drizzle. Heavenly!

Excellent Italian food… We discovered this family restaurant on Maple Avenue after so many years of staying in the area. The staff was friendly and they have nice clean kitchen view with experienced chefs making awesome food. We tried daily specials Lobster Ravioli and shrimp bisque. The taste was spectacular.

Went to pazzo last night for dinner and some good wine. Can’t say enough about the décor and service. We started with the grilled calamari… wow will never eat fried again! Moved onto to a classic lasagne well balanced composition of ingredients and sause. Finished with a raspberry and chocolate desert. Thanks to jimmy for the recommendations on wine and pairing with our meal. If for nothing else go there for an excellent selection of exclusive wine from a very knowledgeable owner. I brought back a few«friends» with me after our conversation around wine styles and blends.

It was a great experience dining here a few weeks ago. I ordered a vegetarian pizza which was delicious. My fiancé ordered lamb chops(medium rare) — he also enjoyed them. The restaurant’s space is relatively small, but it has a cozy feeling to it. It’s a great neighborhood Italian restaurant. We will be visiting again soon.

So, I have to admit that my opinion of Pazzo Pomodoro has gone up and down. Initially — I loved it. I went there a few times, once sat at the bar and once in the restaurant. I remember really enjoying the food and thought the wine prices were really reasonable. Then, a month or so later, my husband and I got take-out. I’m not sure what it was but the portions were tiny and we just didn’t think the food was as good as we thought our first few times. Then, we took a break. Went to Pazzo a few weeks back and have returned to really liking them again(I’m going to cast off the take-off as a one-off and not plan to do take-out from them again)! I ordered the bolognese and my husband ordered the gnocchi. The pasta was prepared beautifully for both dishes; I loved the sauce on mine. we also ordered a great Italian wine for around $ 40. We also both got Ceasar salads — I liked mine; husband wasn’t as much of a fan since we think anchovies are ground into the dressing(I don’t mind them if they are ground; he can’t stand them at all). Overall, a great menu, well-prepared Italian food, and reasonable prices. Yep, Pazzo is definitely returning to our rotation.

Pazzo Pomodoro is authentic Italian, quick and courteous service and all around delicious food! Meat lasagna with egg slices was mouthwatering. Don’t skip out on the house specialty dessert and especially the tortina rustico napoletano appetizer with so much cheese you’ll melt.

Based on my first experience the food came out slow and a bit disorganized but I decided to give them the benefit of the doubt so I came back a couple of weeks later is it was probably the best italian food ive had so far! This is now my go to place in Vienna for sure!

My family ate here twice this week, and for the price most of our food was great. We ordered a variety of dishes, and felt their classical Italian dishes to be very good. The lasagna, pizza and other pasta dishes were very good. Although for one of our meals, my wife ordered the pork chop, and was disappointed. It was undercooked, and was bland, but was a large portion. Desserts were good, we had multiple warm chocolate cake, although the kids didn’t like the syrup coating it, but loved the cake. The tiramisu was excellent! Service was average, not exceptional but not bad either.

My lady found this place in northern virginia magazines best restaraunts for 2014 and we decided to give it a try. Food was good we started off with an appitizer of calamari and then proceeded to the main course. I had a pizza and she had gnocci. I thought the pizza was ok but ive had better. The spot was kinda small and tight inside the establishment. All in all i would prolly go to Ciros and grab a local slice but thats just me.

I was at the Clarksburg, Md. location last night with Friends to Celebrate my Birthday. Overall a great experience. The wait times were just a little long at times. However, our Waiter was quite attentive & Friendly. The we ordered the Bread as an Appetizer & it was very good. My Friend ordered the Lasagna w/met & ended up taking it some of it Home. I oredered the Ravioli it was quite good. However, there was considerablymore Sauce than Ravioli. This is really my only complaint.

What a marvelous place for pizza and other famous Italian dishes! I have had many pizzas in my lifetime and this place unquestionably ranked at the very top. We had combination pizza(see posted photo) and both were equally delicious. No doubt I will continue to return whenever I have the urge to eat pizza. Oh, thanks to the waiter, we had a complimentary dessert because this was our first visit to the place. What a thoughtful gesture that just made me a regular customer to this fine eatery. Had returned visit tonight and I was deepest disappointed. The place was crowded, so service was terrible. The waitress never refilled our water. I had to ask a waiter who cleaned up our dishes for refills. Moreover, we had to ask for the complimentary bread. When time came for the check the server was rather quick in giving it to us. Notwithstanding my dissatisfaction, I gave more tip than the person deserved; now I regret it. I think this is it for me to visit this once very nice place, since there are plenty of other good pizza places around.

This restaurant is located in a strip mall off of Maple Ave in Vienna. The parking can be tough if it is busy so you may have to park on the opposite side of the parking lot or drive around for a few minutes. However, it is worth it. The restaurant was just starting to get very busy and fortunately, we were able to get one of the last available tables. When we left, there were people in line waiting to get a seat. The restaurant is kind of small, but still a decent size for being located in a strip mall. The people that work there are all very friendly and efficient. The food here is delicious! When my family and I went, we ordered salads and 2 pizzas. I really like the vinaigrette that came on the house salad. You could tell the veggies were fresh. My favorite pizza was the Margherita. Wow! The pizza slices were a decent size and it came out piping hot. I really wanted to try some of their gelato, but was so full by the time we were finished with dinner. I will definitely be back again!

Came to Pazzo Pomodoro with a group of 9 people to celebrate National Lasagna Day. Picked this spot because it was one of the only local places rated highly on Unilocal that had both vegetarian and meat lasagna options. It was a little bit difficult having such a large party in the small space, but they were very accommodating and squeezed us in even though they usually don’t take reservations. So their management is good. Unfortunately, they could not do separate checks for parties of more than 6, so when it came bill time, things got complicated. There was also an additional glass of wine added to our bill when all we ordered was a bottle of wine. They removed this when it was brought to their attention. The service was so so. Not the most friendly waiter, but he wasn’t rude either. There was also an appetizer plate on the table that looked like it had been used before. Can’t stand that. On to the food! I tried a couple pieces of the calamari, and it wasn’t anything special, more chewy than normal. As my main course, I ordered the vegetarian lasagna. It was decadent, to say the least! It was literally covered and floating in a sea of cheese. Not traditional italian style lasagna ATALL, but oh so tasty. The spinach pasta was divine. And it’s fantastic if you like cheese as much as I do. There was so much gooey cheese left in the bowl after eating the lasagna, you could dip the appetizer bread in it reminiscent of fondue. Think Melting Pot. If you are lactose intolerant, your insides will probably explode immediately just looking at the veggie lasagna(see photo at your own discretion). I heard from others that the meat lasagna was delicious and the pizza too(even though the crust looked a bit unusual). I give this place three stars(average) for a few reasons: 1) it didn’t strike me as authentic Italian fare, it was more like a national chain. Tasty, but I was expecting better. 2) The server wasn’t particularly friendly. 3) The greasy plate. And 4) I can’t help but get suspicious when a place randomly throws on an extra charge to the bill, even if it truly was unintentional.
