Mint Lounge

The location had me guessing if I was going the right way towards the end, but there were just some bigger buildings blocking my sight of Mint Lounge as I was turning the corner on Pinnacle Drive.
I went here with a friend on a Thursday night after finding out a new hookah place opened up down the street from me. The atmosphere was very casual, and it has a modern/​industrial look mixed in with some trendiness nightclub vibes (read: glowy, colored lights). There are regular metal tables and chairs along with booth seating (one side seating only) against the back wall with very low, glass tables.
The service was extremely slow even though there weren’t many parties there at all. There was only one server and one hookah person. I loved the selection of flavors; lots of minty options (hence the name) and even custom mixed ones. But alas, since I’m not a fan of mint, I opted for one of my favorite flavors, Starbuzz’s Queen of Sex ($ 18.99). It took over 20 minutes to get a hookah and the server did not come back to take drink orders until we flagged her down. My friend and I each ordered the hot chocolate ($ 3.99) and was extremely impressed with how delicious it tasted. It was rich, but not too sweet and the whipped cream was heavenly.
The hookah came with the popular plastic, disposable hose that I notice most hookah places now use. After hookahing for about half an hour, I decided it was decent, but not great. It wasn’t until I looked closely at the bowl to figure out why. The holes punched into the aluminum foil covering the bowl were extremely large, not tiny like it’s supposed to be. This led to the hookah become harsh quite quickly and the flavor being ruined so soon. Very disappointed.
I loved the atmosphere of this place and how convenient the location is for me, but sadly did not have a good first impression. I will come back to see if the service and hookah will be better, but probably not on Friday or Saturday nights as there is a «$ 15 minimum required per person and a maximum of two people per shisha».
For those who don’t a mind a more low-​key and much more casual environment, but awesome service and good hookah, Cedar’s Café (
) on Lee Highway in Fairfax is the best in the area.

This is Mint’s new location after closing down the other one. This place is much bigger with more parking space. The place is clean (so far, will be checking on that in a few weeks!). It’s got this modern, industrial vibe to it with metal chairs and pipe looking table legs. They have these cool paintings of Western celebrities with a Middle Eastern flair.
We ordered 2 hookahs which were great and really smooth; you could tell they were really clean too. We ordered their signature mint drink, fruit smoothies, latte and tea. We also had some dessert which was fresh and absolutely delicious! They weren’t too sweet like typical middle eastern sweets. Honestly, everything was perfect.
The hostess was friendly and hospitable. She kept on checking up on us and making sure we were good.
My friends and I will definitely be going back for some of that hookah!

Sleek. Modern. Relaxing.
Unlike a lot of hookah places you can actually have a conversation and not be drowned out by loud music.
The service was wonderful. They may want to consider more than 2 hostesses on a busy night.
Only downfall that I see is them not having a full bar even it’s something small.
Pricing was great and the minimum per person is only $ 15 (not enforced when I was there) per person unlike Babalu with its $ 25 per person minimum.
My boyfriend is Iranian and sets the bar high for hookah places in this area and he was impressed needless to say we will be back next Friday :)

Best hookah spot in virginia. friendly staff with great service. Home of the original mInT cRusH and a great selection of illy coffee drinks. Their hookah is the best in tysons and the desserts are to die for!

Great hookah addition to Tysons. Very nice yet casual atmosphere unlike some new spots in Tysons. Great selection of shisha, you can make your own custom flavor, great juices and smoothies. Def my new spot in Tysons.
