Steak ‘n Shake

A good family restaurant. I rate it four stars because it was loud and the fries were skinny. They put us at a table with a draft. Otherwise, it was excellent. They shakes were to die for!

I think Victorville is one ugly place with horrible burger places, but Steak N Shake is amazing, and because I work till the late hours im glad they are open 24 hours, the burgers are great the Cajun burger is different but really good, the Cajun fries are the best. The burgers are always fresh. Tonight ill try a milk shake. The staff is always friendly and yes the wait is a little long but its worth it if they are making it fresh. I don’t understand the negative reviews cant rush good quality food.

I went here with Debra R and Jose R for breakfast. I got the bagel sandwich. Jose R got the pancakes with eggs and Debra R got the classic breakfast. The food was really good. The price was good too.

Bad Management at this Steak n Shake the restrooms were filthy and it was signed off that they were clean by employees 10 minutes before we went to use them. If the place is gross and they cook your food that’s gross.

Not impressed… but burger was ok. The bacon lover burger is more like a mild bacon lover with thin sliced bacon like jack in the box’s «microwaved» bacon. The thin fries are pretty good. Service is ok. So, just had to try it to see what all the fuss was about. In n out still kicks ass in flavor. Also, «regular order» of onion rings seem kid size. They serve a few in a tiny plate sized for a coffee cup. Order the larger order to be satisfied.

I don’t know why there are so many bad reviews. I think their burgers are just barely a notch below In-​n-​Out. Great tasting patty and the buns are perfect. Never been disappointed with their food or service.

Although this place has gotten MUCH better then when they first opened its still a much needed help. Went to a steak n shake in St Louis last week and a night and day difference. tonight a complete joke understaffed and EVERY table that doesn’t have someone sitting at it us completely filthy. Only cleaning tables to seat new patrons. I’d give one star but since my last review it has gotten better. What a shame.

Even though we have one in Vegas at The South Point, my first visit was Sunday at the Victorville/​Hesperia location. We were sat right away, at lunchtime. We had a friendly and attentive server.
I did not know what to expect as I thought this was going to be a regular burger. I was pleasantly surprised to see the meat was actually pounded steak. I like this fries and the shke we split was great. I had asked for a class with two straws but they actually split it between two smaller shake glasses. First class service!

I drive 45 miles just to come here for my Steak ‘n Shake fix. I always order the portobello & Swiss burger with bacon & no onions! The only complaint I have is that sometimes when I leave drive thru my burger is missing the bacon! Other than that, I love their food! The fries come in huge portions!
Also, I’ve dined inside once before. The majority of tables had not be cleaned yet & it did not look like anyone here was in a hurry to clean them.

I love this chain but this location on the way to LV needs to get a better system of customer service in place. We stopped by here on the way to LV just before NYE and I was craving their diner food which I’d had on the east coast. The food was just as good as I remembered but the services was very lacking. We were here at close to midnight and not many people here but we still had to seat ourselves, and constantly flagging down someone to ask to take our order, get refills, etc. Would I come back? Probably yes just because we don’t have these in SD but be prepared to show patience and you should be ok.

Busy yet the servers are great. We were here because we were hungry and had some time to kill before working an event.
The line and wait was not excruciating and we were seated within 15 minutes.
Our server, Jenny, was very attentive, helpful, and informative. We had never eaten at any Steak n Shake and she answered all of our silly questions.
I ordered the guacamole burger and a root beer float with salted vinegar skinny fries. The fries were crispy and tasty. My friend kept taking some because they were so good. My burger was simply delicious.
Too bad we do not live close by to this restaurant otherwise I would come at least once a month to grub after a night of drinking. I classify Steak n shake is one of those great hangover foods.

Food is okay. Service is horrible. Maybe a little training on what proper customer service is would be helpful. Fries are plain, they either need salt or some kind of season. Tasted like they were made before we arrived. The burger lacks on taste too.
Maybe when you make the shakes you can wipe off the glass before serving them to the customers. Regina was our server and she acted like we were imposing and wasting her time. When asked about items on the menu we would get short answers. Instead of getting our burger without what we wanted we were told we can take off whatever we don’t want. Just a frustrating trip all together.

Really good food, I’ve eaten inside and gone through the drive thru.
Watch the drive thru twice they have forgotten my food. Always check at the window!

I love steak and shake; I used to go all the time when I lived in the south. The steak burgers and shakes are amazing. Prices are not too bad. Highly recommend. I wish there was a lot more of these in southern cali.

Didn’t expect it to be a sit down restaurant since it has a drive thru.
Ordered a burger fries and a birthday cake shake, the shake was by far the worst shake ive ever had.
The burger was ok and don’t remember much about the fries.
Id like to go back and try some other stuff and one more shake, it better be good next time.

This is a 24 hour burger joint, very nice to have when driving to Las Vegas or passing through Victorville.
Very tasty steak burger and shoestrings fries are better then its predecessor in (Las Vegas — Freddy’s). Hits the spot and decent price.

Mrs. wanted to try out something else other than the typical fast food restaurants that we stop at during our trips. So, on our way back from Vegas we opted for the drive thru at this place. The last time we had something at Steak ‘n Shake was probably in 2006 in Fort Wayne, IN.
We ordered a bunch of stuff. Total with tax came to $ 9.99.
Pros:
Sliders were good.
Drive thru had few cars, but the service was fast.
Ian got a nice souvenir hat (+1)
Cons:
None.

I’m not sure why so many other Unilocalers are bad mouthing this place. This place is awesome!
As soon as you walk in, you get a diner feel to the place. Definitely not your typical fast food joint.
There’s a hostess that greets you and seats you promptly.
We’ve never been so we have no idea what to order. Steak and Shake maybe?!?
I ordered a single steak burger with cheese. My daughter ordered the same except in the Kids Menu. I had to try their shakes. There was a numerous variety of flavors, so I went with the mint cookies and cream shake.
Everything came out in less than 10 minutes. The burger was delicious! Didn’t think it was going to be that good, but it was! And their fries were amaze balls! Very skinny fries with hardly any salt. Perfectly crisp, just how I like it!
The shake too was omg yummy goodness! Not too thick but not too thin. Perfect shake if you ask me.
And the best part was our check! For a family of four it cost 20 bucks!
We will be back soon, most definitely!

What is it with Victorville, of all places, getting these Midwest steakburger joints? Random.
Came here on a weekday evening while passing through the area. I wasn’t too excited, but I figured since it was a new addition to town, I’d give it a try. With a barely half full dining room, the service was abysmally slow and inattentive, even to be seated. The table next to me in the same section also happened to get serviced before mine with greetings, orders, and food even though they were seated 10 minutes after. I got the Bacon Steakburger and a milkshake. Meh. 2.5 experience. I wouldn’t go back for the menu nor the prices.
I suppose after all the years of being spoiled by the service and food of their competitor on the other side the I-​15 freeway, I’ve picked and will stay with them as the go-​to for all of my pitstops through the High Desert. Sorry, Steak n Shake.

A decent burger joint. I ordered the mushroom burger (I added bacon duh!)
Came with fries and I upgraded to the Parmesan herb fries.
And I can’t forget the shake! Just a traditional chocolate, but it was huge!
Just a quick lunch for me today.
