Went here while on vacation to see a local show. This place wasn’t the best, but it did have some hidden gems food wise.
Food — I got the mushroom/​swiss burger cooked medium and it was great, definitely no complaints. However, I wouldn’t put the burger on my «top 10 burger list.» I also got a bowl of chili and that chili was delicious, it wasn’t my normal spicy chili that I like and tended more to the sweet side, but overall it was great! Fries were good, and perfectly seasoned
Service — Service was great, a little slow but they were packed due to the show down the street in the arena.
Overall I would probably go back one more time if I was in town and wanted a burger and some good chili.

Let me start out saying Rachel at the bar was wonderful. I had an hour and half to burn waiting for a movie to start because their location is great.
Ordered beer sampler while casually reading the menu. Beer on tap is Cold. Yum. Menu makes everything sound great.
Ordered hot wings. (Easy go to. Can’t screw them up. Wrong)
took one bite and the blood running out reminded me that I may not want to do that again.
I respectfully requested they be fully cooked so I could continue my meal. After 15 minutes I declined the wings and asked for the burger I was looking forward to. the Pat-​O burger. Manager stopped by and was gracious and respectful.
What a let down. I actually asked if they are precooked then heated. Standard cafeteria burger.
Fryes however are possibly the best I ever had. as the burger got tuffer, the fries stayed crisp.
My first time here and wont be back.

The service was very poor. We waited on a server for 10 minnutes. THE MANAGER WAS NOT POLITE.

Came in and had the Gambler, great burger… the bun is amazing. Enjoyed the atmosphere, plenty of TV’s and we were able to get a seat very quickly. My friend had the McDonald burger and said it was the best burger he had every had. You definitely get your money’s worth as well with huge portions. One of the best burger places in town!

Don’t walk, run to another restaurant. This place used to have great burgers, but now the hamburger meat is filled with fillers! The texture is weird and least of all not appetizing. The meat is mushy!!! Never again.
Service was ok. It was not busy but water was not refilled and food bordered on cold.

We love to come and eat at Mugshots! The burgers are awesome and the drinks are great too. I always get the McDonald burger and it is awesome! It has bacon, cheese, ranch and a lot of other awesome stuff!

I am not a regular of this place but I could easily see myself as one. The burgers, apps, drink selection, and service are almost always good.
Service — This time we walked in, right up to the bar, and ordered our food to go. The bartender was very helpful by being efficient and helping us navigate the menu. Our food took a little while to cook but that somewhat assures me of it being fresh made rather than sitting under a heat lamp. When I checked the bag, everything I needed was there. That is always a must when getting to go food.
Food — The fried mushrooms were very good. I will definitely get them again! Tonighy we got the McDonald burger. I have never tried it but again, very good and I could see myself eating it again. A few other items on the appetizer list and burger list look very good so I will have a difficult time deciding next time.
Atmosphere — this place has a great sports bar atmosphere with plenty of TVs relatively decent noise level and a great layout.
Check them out for happy hour Monday through Thursday they have discounts on beer mixed drinks and wine.

It’s been a while since we have these guys a shot. Honestly, anybody can make a far better burger at home. Under seasoned, overcooked, tasteless and boring. Our daughter tried the peanut butter burger and said it was horrid. I grabbed a bite and agreed. It’s a train wreck.
Everyone at the table talked about the odd texture of the meat. Gummy, chewy — these aren’t words normally used to describe a piece of hamburger. It was weird. Our waitress said we could specify a temperature so we ordered our burgers medium rare and rare. Despite the promise, they were all well done.
No more.

Been hearing many positive feedback about this particular location so I ended up coming here on my off day to see what people were talking about regarding the food. The place was hard for me to find because I didn’t realize the restaurant is located by the movie theater since I parked on the second level of the parking deck. I was a little skeptical about how good the service would be since there was a lot of young employees that were working that day. Loved the interaction from our waitress during the time we were there and she proceeded to answer any question I have regarding the menu. Ended up ordering six hot wings as an appetizer and I was shocked how huge they were when my waitress brought them out. Didn’t wait too long for our meal to arrive at the table once our appetizer was through eating. If anyone had any doubts about eating a peanut butter burger with jelly and bacon strips, take my word that you’re gonna have a combination of delicious goodness of a burger. I thought they only give you small portion for the price you pay but there burger are really big and I left from there satisfied with my experience.

This is my first time here and I love the atmosphere of this place my waitress was very nice and friendly I really enjoyed my food I had the chicken Philly sandwich and it was so big I also had wings as an appetizer not only were the wings good they were the biggest wings I have ever eaten overall just a great experience and i will definitely be back

This is definitely not a place that you can say «I don’t think I get enough food for my money.» The portions at this place are huge. Most of the time, I can only eat half of my cheeseburger (which works out awesome because I get leftovers). Today I got the mombo combo which is a pick three of any of their appetizers. I went with the pow pow shrimp, cheese dip, and moo cow wedges and it was all amazing!!! Even the trio was way to much to eat in one sitting! My husband got the McDonald, which has bacon and BBQ sauce.
They recently got a Bloody Mary bar which I thought was awesome. I didn’t try them, but the bar itself looks amazing. Also, I love the ambiance of this place. It’s so low key but it’s also plastered with customers pics on canvases! Overall it was a great experience!

I always get the pizza burger, and it’s really great. Their burgers are a little on the pricey side, but they’re also pretty big. The fries are also excellent, and I usually don’t even care about fries. But be aware that if you get carry-​out, they will give you MUCH fewer fries than when you dine-​in.

Been here a few times. Really a go to spot we come too because it’s close to home and work. Always great service, burgers are always on point. Never had mugshots till I came to Birmingham, but I know why it’s always busy. I tend to get Either the McDonald, comeback burger or the Cajun Dixie Chicken sandwich. The bun is what makes it special and their sauces are always good, but never over bearing. Leh goooo!!!

I sure wish I could give this place 5 stars! Best burgers I have ever had, hands down. The ONLY drawback is the seating and wait time. Pretty crowded and when you have to wait for a table, there’s no really good place to stand. My son gets The Gambler, which is a burger with Rotel and chili on it. Let me qualify this by saying that this is the skinniest, pickiest 12 year old ever. He almost finishes it every time. I usually get the Comeback burger, and boy does it make you want to! Comeback sauce, A-​1 sauce, cheese, bacon and that YUMMY homemade bun? SHUT YO MOUTH! Onion rings are large and in charge. not too greasy, good pieces of onion and nice light batter.

Maybe the best burgers in the Birmingham area. The burgers are huge, and that is nice (bang for your buck) but they taste amazing! My son got the cheesy BLT and it looked to have an entire pound of bacon! The place is a must return to often spot for our family.

I really wish Unilocal had a review system for food and one for service. I’ve waited a few days to review, just so I could have a clearer mind and not base my review solely on emotions.
Arrived around 4PM and sat at the bar. Got a margarita, and asked what was good on the appetizer menu while I waited for my dinner companion to arrive. Bartender recommended the fried pickles, so I asked for an order of that. Pickles came out about 10 minutes later, and not only REEKED of oil, but were swimming in oil on the plate that was served to me. I took one bite of pickle, and knew I couldn’t eat anymore. Bartender asked how I liked them, and so I pointed out the pickles swimming oil and said I couldn’t eat them anymore. The smell was also nauseating, so I asked her to take them away. I was obviously unhappy, but when I got ready to cash out, I noticed she charged me for the full order, even though the food was obviously not properly cooked/​served. No apology. Nothing.
Once I left the bar, and we were seated, it took our waitress approximately 5 minutes to come to our table. In that time, we were seated next to a table that had been left uncleared for quite sometime. Once our waitress arrived, we placed our orders, and hoped that the food would be better than the appetizer.
We ordered an additional appetizer (still starving), and it was brought out relatively quickly. What WAS awkward, was that while we were praying over the food, the waitress interrupted prayers to bring us our burgers! Completely inappropriate and inconsiderate! At this point in the dining experience, I would have rated the place 1 star. But then I bit into the burger, and the taste/​smell of the oily pickles and inconsiderate/​rude staff slowly faded into the distance. The meat was cooked perfectly, and the sauce added amazing flavor. And that bun! Wow.
Will I give mugshots another try? Maybe. This location? Probably not.

Met the GF here after work. She had already gotten a drink at the bar and cashed out quickly.
We were seated quickly, but the waitress was busy due to the crowd and took about 5 minutes to see us. We ordered an appetizer which arrived quickly. Our meals came a few minutes after the appetizers. Both of us were very happy with the delicious food. I had the Pizza burger while she had the Mcdonald. She couldn’t finish hers and took it home to eat later.
Overall, great food and experience, and I think we’ll be back.

Loved, loved, loved. So good. I had the Philly cheese steak. Which isn’t really a Philly cheese steak but delicious just the same. It was huge. I had to eat it with a knife and fork. I didn’t think I would ever finish it but I came close! No leftovers.
The two people I was with had burgers which they loved too. Nice outdoor area which for some reason smelled like sunscreen so it reminded me of eating at a restaurant near the beach. Prices are decent for lunch and for what you are getting. Drinks are huge with free refills and you can get a drink to go as well.
I will be back!

Ate here with a colleague from work, First time i have visited this establishment. And all i can say is WELL DONE mugshots. If you are looking for a very good burger this IS the place. Ample portions, great taste. We went during lunch so trying the alcohol will have to wait till a later date.
If you are looking for a great burger when you are in town, this is the place. Best in a good radius.

I loved loved loved this restaurant. Service was great and food was SO good! The fried mushrooms were my favorite! Will go back every time I’m in town, I wish I lived closer!

I love the mugshot in the uptown. The gourmet hamburger are great with beer battered french fries. They have eating environment for all ages.

My favorite burger place in town. The sourdough bun is the key to making the best burger that I’ve had in Birmingham.
This franchise has been consistent at all the locations that I’ve been to (Vestavia, AL; Starkville, MS & Birmingham, AL).
My favorite is the McDonald. Comeback burger is good as well. Definitely recommend the comeback sauce for your fries.
When I come here for lunch I usually sit at the bar. Generally seated immediately and order as soon as I decide.
Have yet to have a poor service experience at this location.
