Sonny’s BBQ

I was hoping this restaurant was going to be good, but unfortunately I was wrong. Granted, we came at 9:10 and they closed at 9:30. Still, they could act like they’re happy. Our waitress didn’t seem to be in a great mood probably because we were one of the last customers. I ordered the pulled pork and they gave me three 4 small pieces of pork on a bun. I mean c’mon. I gave 2 stars because another waitress that helped us was very nice and your drink size was quite large. Overall, disappointing.

The ribs and brisket had decent flavor but not the smoke and style I am use to in Texas. The cornbread was very good, almost seemed to be from scratch. Delicious. Nice to know they have a drive thru. Food came out quickly. Great music playing too! We did not drink this go around but they had some draft beer specials that were note worthy.

We went last night and had the BEST service and food we’ve ever had. The corn nuggets were hot and fresh. The food was fantastic

This was my very visit here and it exceeded my expectations. I was very satisfied with the food and service. They also have the best cornbread and sweet tea I’ve ever had! We had the family feast and it had a sample of brisket, bbq chicken, and ribs. Great choice for a family of four, with 3 sides and choice of breads. This will be one of my usual dinner spots. Love it!

Service was non existing, the waitress came twice, once to take the order, another time to deliver the food. That was it, we had to get another person to bring the check.

We’ve been going to Sonny’s since we moved to Vero eight years ago. We’ve catered parties for 100+ guests and have been satisfied with the service and product for the most part. My friend and I love the mac and cheese but find it comes to the table cold or Luke warm at best! A new sandwich on the menu, The B.O.M.B changed our minds about that! We ordered this sandwich 4 or 5 times until December 2^nd. That night, we ordered the sandwich and received something that in no way resembled the sandwiches we had previously. They were cold; they were sloppily thrown together and not all the components were on them. We told our terrific waitress. She returned with remade sandwiches. These had scraps of meat; cold Mac and cheese; less filling than before. We asked to see the manager. Elizabeth showed up at our table 10 minutes later. We told her what happened twice. She tried to defend the way the sandwich is made. We told her we had them before. These were not right. She had them remade. A runner brought them to us– they were the wrong sandwiches and they were cold!!! We told our waitress. We didn’t eat our sandwiches. Elizabeth never returned. ½ the cost of each sandwich was removed from our checks; and the only one apologizing was the waitress!!! Not going back. Going to 14 Bones for my ‘Q.

We have ordered numerous appetizers over the course of eating here and 1 time they actually came out before the meal. Obviously the waitresses we have had do not understand the concept of an appetizer.

Good BBQ at a good price! Best casual dining BBQ place. Staff is friendly and service was quick, despite it being very busy.

The service and food here is consistently good. The redneck egg rolls are to die for and the ribs are some of the best in town.
The kiddos love coming here and the portion sizes on the kids meals are pretty good.

Yummy bbq sandwiches. This is my boyfriend’s and my spot when we’re in the mood for bbq. Quick and friendly service, we’ve only come through the drive thru though.

My friend and I were in Vero Beach for the weekend and ate here one evening and had a great time. The décor of the restaurant reminds you of an old school diner. Their Southern Hospitality alone earned a star on it’ own. The staff were very friendly and welcoming and they filled our large iced teas to go after we finished our meal. WOW​.COM Now to that delicious food.
I ordered the BBQ ribs with mac and cheese and pork and beans. My least favorite was the mac n cheese that we thought was baked but it appeared to be out of the box. My friend asked to change her mac n cheese side because she didn’t like it and our waitress did so without any hesitation or attitude. The rest of my meal was absolutely delicious. My ribs were nicely seasoned that I didn’t need to use their selection of BBQ sauces on the table. My beans were tasty and hit the spot. The sweet iced tea reminded me of my grandma’s from the South not too sweet. Our waitress offered to refill our tea to go and I almost fell out of my chair. A free refill to go, woo hoo. As you can tell it doesnt take a lot to get me happy but I was thankful. Living in NYC you get nickel and dimed for everthing, so her gesture was truly refreshing.
I would definitely check this place out again if I happen to be in the gorgeous area of Vero Beach.

This a great casual place to hang out with friends and family. Good food and reasonable prices in a laid back atmosphere.

The service was nice, but the food was too dry and if you don’t experience family reunions. This is the place to go…
Positive note, the food is served to you quickly so, as a health note. It’s fast food and it’s somewhat of a healthy direction. Just don’t rush your order for a movie that you think is go by to be good.

Tried Sonnys BBQ for the first time tonight. I enjoyed the Redneck egg rolls, which had pulled pork, cheese, coleslaw all tucked nicely inside an egg roll and fried. Yum!
The corn fritters were sweet and fried to perfection. They come out piping hot, be careful.
I ordered a brisket sandwich on garlic bread and tried the mild BBQ sauce which is on the table amongst a variety of sauces to choose from.
For dessert I enjoyed the Banana Pudding which I shared and still couldn’t finish. It’s a good amount of pudding…
The drinks are XXL and they offer you a to go drink when you leave which is a nice touch. Next time I’m in Vero Beach I’ll be back at Sonnys!

Morgan delivered exquisite service and put tender love in our food. Gotta try the redneck Eggrolls when I order. Also the smoking gun sounds great! Can’t wait to try their food!!!

Service is always great and the food always comes out fast. The food is decently priced (Big Deal is a great deal). I love to come here with my family because they have plenty of options for kids to choose from. The corn nugget things are one of my favorite menu items and I haven’t seen them anywhere else yet.

I only get take out and it is sparce.

A sea of swine have laid down their lives to fuel the hoard of Vero residents that have hunched over the tables of this eatery over the years. Was the porcine holocaust worth it? Yea, I guess.
Sonnys has good recipes and fair pricing. The execution of those concepts, as with almost anywhere, sometimes leaves something to be desired. Tonight was one of those nights.
We got there a little early to avoid the dinner rush and were seated promptly. Our server was fairly quick to get the drink order but when she was taking the order it was impossible ignore the miasma of unwashed body drenched in cheap perfume that hung about her. Her cloths looked as though she had slept in them for a couple days.
I asked for my sandwich on a bun and a side of mayo. I watched her write the order but not note my request. So when the food arrived my sandwich was on garlic toast and no side of mayo. I flagged her down and she took it back and instantly came back with it on a bun, a cold bun. I pointed out that the menu says toasted bun so she took it back again. When my sandwich did return my dinner companions were done eating.
Most of the dead swine that spent the coin of their lives to add chins to the people of Vero spent that coin well, just not my dead pig.

I wasn’t so sure about trying this place. But I am sure glad I did!
Living in Miami there are not many bbq places so I while I was here and we spotted this place we decided to give it a try.
We started off with the redneck eggrolls… AMAZING! What a burst of flavor! bbq pulled pork in it and coleslaw??? Warm coleslaw? It was delicious. Crispy and savory. It had this ranch dipping sauce that helped cool them down for me as I kept eating them quickly even though they were hot since they were so delicious, I couldn’t wait for them to cool down. I had the baby back ribs and they were super tender and bone licking and finger licking delicious. I had them sweet Carolina style. For my sides I had the bbq beans, crinkle cut fries and the cornbread. All were tasty. And to wash all that bbq goodness with, I had the ice tea. I love ice tea. I wanted to try dessert but I was too full. I can’t wait to go again.
Service was good and I was happy.
