Mariscos El Bucanero

This is a hidden gem in the wall restaurant, a bit difficult to find but worth it, tacos gobernador are my fave here. Highly recommend this place, excellent quality food, they make their food fresh everyday.

While waiting for my car to get a stereo installed at Angel’s Electronics across the street, John L.(same as above) recommended this place and even ordered what he suggested, the Tostada Super Mixta ($ 8.50) and a diet coke (can $ 1.00) with a glass of ice. It was GREAT! Couldn’t finish it, it was big! Friendly, informative waitress. They had things on the menu I hadn’t seen in a mariscos place before such as meatballs of fish or shrimp (wonder if they’re like the Chinese ones?), tacos al gobernador, raw oysters with chopped shrimp mix on top, etc. Everything is super fresh and nicely presented. Probably going back this weekend. Not positive since they don’t have A/​C and the past week has been hot & muggy! They do have fans, though. BTW, they serve reasonably priced breakfasts all day (open 10AM-​7PM).

Best mariscos in Los Angeles by far. Recommendations: Los tacos al governador and aguachiles… 2 must****

Plates to try are campechanas, coctel de camaron, botana de camaron, and tacos gobernador.
All of those are super good quality and taste.
Right now I’m hooked on the tacos gobernador I get that all the time now.

without a doubt the best Mariscos on this side of the border– Nationwide. Chicago, Austin, New York, San Francisco… ain’t got nothing on this joint. been to the San Antonio, Tx location just as good!

Definitely the best Mexican Seafood Spot in the area. I have a stereo shop across their establishment (Angels Electronics). I always recommend my customers to go here. I try to eat here as often as possible. Fish Tacos, Seafood Soup, Ceviche, the list goes on and on. I honestly would say the best Mexican food in Los Angeles, PERIOD. I am so lucky to work within 50 feet from the spot.

This place is the middle of a swapmeet, parking is bad on weekends, but they have the best seafood I have ever had. I always have the fish tacos, the ceviche tostadas are excellent, the food is always fresh no matter what time you go there. On Saturdays and sundays there will be a band singing and will grant your requests. Very small only 6 tables but it’s worth it. After eating you can go around and indulge in Mexican sweets. The ladies that work there are friendly and are happy to help you. I have never had a bad thing to say about this place. I just wish they would open a large restaurant. Definitely worth checking out.
