Stopped here after a hike with my boyfriend. We Saw the large cheese pizza deal sign and thought, «how hard is it to mess up a cheese Pizza?». Apparently very easily. The dough was the worst consistency. The pizza had no sauce. The garlic knots were bland. We were very disappointed.

The pizza is very good. Loved this place until the guy who seams to be in charge(the man who wears the hat) was very rude to me for no reason. Guess he was having a bad day. Now I only go here when pizza station is closed.

I really like this place. Great pizzeria layout– great choices and varieties with pizza– great menu– decent prices. The staff is friendly and it feels authentic on the Italian heritage side. We now order our pies from here and I am yet to be disappointed. It’s not mind blowing pizza, but in the mountainous NJ region with treated water, they do a great job with their dough. A perfect pizza place for tourists, mountain creek visitors.

Really nice staff. I ordered mozzarella sticks, and I am pretty sure they were frozen and old. They tasted horrible– I am not sure how you mess up mozzarella sticks. I also ordered a pasta dish, which was larger than expected. Again, the food was not something I would call home about. The prices were decent and the portion sizes big, but the food was not decent at all.

If I could give this joke of a place zero stars I would. Pathetic isn’t even close to what I’ve just experienced. A lost phone order and a few shoulder shrugs round out this horrible service and all without a single apology… Save your time and save your money… there are better options literally a few hundred yards away. This place will never ever get my business again.

Despite the mixed reviews I have picked up a few slices here and was always mostly satisfied so my boyfriend and I decided to order a whole pizza from here(white primavera). We looked past the pizza being undercooked but were totally disgusted to find a large piece of plastic in the pizza. It’s one thing to have something wrong with the way the food tastes and it’s a complete other thing to experience the insolence of having plastic cooked into our pizza. This is the last time we eat there.

I called to place an order around 940 at night and they were very accommodating even when they were closing at 10pm. Pizza was very god and enjoyed by all.

Being a Vernon native I have seen this building house a pool hall, school supply store, office for an attorney, and now it is a pizza place. I moved away from NJ years ago and have missed good pizza and chicken parm heroes. While we were in town for a family wedding my husband and I took our kids here to pick up dinner. We ordered a chicken parm hero and a huge Stromboli. Our order took a little while to make, so we sat by the window to wait. This was entertaining because the cook prepares everything right there in view of the whole restaurant. I loved this because my children had never seen someone throwing a pizza crust before. I watched the cook shake hands with repeat customers and friends and go right back to preparing food without washing his hands. This totally grossed me out.(I am a total germ freak, plus I used to work in the food service industry and have been trained to always keep super, super clean when handling food.) When we got our meal home I was hesitant to eat because of this. However, the aromas emanating from our pizza box were too enticing. While the chicken parm was definitely not the best one I have ever eaten, it was the best one that I have had in a long time.(Having lived in Florida and Tennessee for the past 12 years, it has been very difficult to find good Italian food.) The chicken was a little dry, but it was nicely breaded and fried. The sauce was good and the bun was the way it ought to be. My husband, who was not excited about eating a Stromboli for dinner, raved about how delicious it was. The only reason there were any leftovers is because everyone was STUFFED! We are a family of 6, so anything that provides us two meals is definitely an incredibly generous portion. We enjoyed the rest for lunch the next day and it was just as good. Paesano’s is a little pricey, but so is every other pizza joint in NJ. How do you expect them to pay their astronomical taxes if they don’t charge such high prices for a pizza pie? Give them a try and you will probably be glad. Get a Stromboli!

I haven’t read the bad reviews but i can’t believe there are any… this place IS what pizza should taste like always! Sauce is on point and the chef is a pro. It looks like his mother or aunt also cooks there and the whole staff speaks Italian so you know exactly how authentic the food’s gonna be. Best pizza in Vernon.

Went to go there for the first time. It was 12 minutes until they close as posted on the door. I walked in and immediately got the«What the hell do you want» look. I asked if they had a plain slice or two left. In response I simply got«NOWE’RECLOSED!» So much for trying this dump! I’ll never go back. There are too many great pizza places around like Franks in Wantage, Tonys in Hamburg and Tonys in Stockholm. Don’t waste your time going here, you’ll bother them by trying to spend money.

I stopped by here this past Friday evening with my wife and 2 others for a late to-go snack. We drove by here on the way to another place earlier in the night and thought that it looked like a good place to try. Upon entering the restaurant the first thing that we noticed and gravitated towards were all the different slices of pizza that were in the glass which you could order. Then after getting our bearings for a minute we were offered a menu by the cook. From my perspective this seemed to be a pretty authentic pizza place. Besides the area with the pizza slices there was a large clean area for the pizza cook to work and behind that a big oven. On the other side of the restaurant there were tables to sit at which could hold number of people. We ended up deciding to split a buffalo chicken pizza between the four of us. After we ordered we proceeded to watch the cook make the pizza and put it into the pizza oven. Whenever all was said and done, it probably took around 20 minutes from the order to us walking out of the restaurant with the pizza in our hands. The pizza itself ended up tasting rather good and I loved the little spice that it gave off. There was an ample amount of good tasting toppings and the crust itself was probably of medium thickness. That was enough to give it some good bite while not being overwhelming to the rest of the toppings. My only complaint with the pizza was that the cheese and toppings consistently seemed to fall off my pizza as I was trying to eat it. Frustrating for sure but in the end not that big of a deal. The bottom line for me is that I would stop by here again in the future. I really enjoyed the pizza that I tried here and would like to try some more!

The pizza is really good but the service is horrible… we had to ask for drinks. We’ve had the garlic knots twice and thought they were good.

The flavors are good but sometimes the execution is horrible. They are very hit or miss. When they get it right they sling a decent pie but more often than not its either overdone or barely cooked. The pizza tends to be all crust and a bit thin in the middle so it flops all over the place. Why do I need this big thick crust if theres nothing I need to hold up in the middle? Im not asking for a pizza thats looks like it came out of a extruder but some consistency would be nice. Tried most of the sides nothing super special but not bad. However, they too can be hit or miss. I do side with another review, the garlic knots are pretty gross. Even when on a miss the meal is still edible and does come at a pretty fair pricetag especially on Tuesdays when they run their pizza special. With a bit of tweaking and some consistency they could be a pretty decent pizza place. They’ve been open for a bit now… still waiting, hope they get it figured out.

Generous portions, tasty food. Fast service. Order at the counter and seat yourself. Good: pizza(had chicken bacon ranch, nice crust, cheese, heavier on toppings light on sauce), hot wings(skin was crispy, meat was tender and didn’t stick to the bone, hot sauce was mouth watering). Good looking: meatball parmesan had tons of cheese(didn’t try) OK: Italian hero(bread wasn’t anything special, good portion of meat, light on seasoning) Other observations: This place seems like a family run place, feels casual and comfortable and is fairly priced.

If I could give this place No Stars, I would. Horrible pizza, dried out, tasteless, just awful. It was so bad, none of us could get past one slice. We threw it all away. The mussels were just OK, but nothing great, and the bread they gave us with the mussels was stale. That went out the back door for the birds. One of the mussels was unopened, and we didn’t want to eat it, fearing it was spoiled. The owner used to own Alpine Pizza here in Vernon years ago with his father, who, I assume, knew what he was doing. Paesano is a huge letdown. Stay away.

Angelo has been flipping pies for years! Best pizza in northern NJ! Pies come out piping hot. Cheese bubbling! Best sauce I’ve ever had! Addicting food. Beautiful Italian décor. Friendly staff. This place has it all.
