Mathew served us with awesome customer service went beyond to give us a bigger salsa bowl for our group.(a order of four guys and then little ol me) :) others weren’t as attentive or looked annoyed because one of us used a coupon while the others paid in store price. But that should not take away from Mathew. Great job! can’t go wrong with Baja Fresh. Yuumm!

Shame on you for giving me only ½ my order. Shame on me for not checking the bag!!! And, I was the only customer in the place!

Well my one on vineyard closed and I come all the way up here from SD just to have their shrimp burrito… so had to go to this one. Was told only the franchised ones are staying open;(They rushed cooking my shrimp and it was so bland… totally bummed. Why can’t restaurants realize that when u are paying $ 9 for just a burrito or anything, to make it like you are cooking for yourself? I had to hunt for the shrimp too as just mostly beans and rice… Plus they wanted to charge me $ 1 for cheese? Really?

I don’t frequent fast food and Baja Fresh is on the pricier side… but it’s definitely worth a trip now and again. I have never had a bad meal there. I usually go with the old standby, shrimp or fish tacos. Today I tried a grilled shrimp chili lime salad. All I have to say is YUM! That little dish will make me return more frequently if they keep it on the menu. Also, as far as taco joints go, they have a good selection on the salsa bar. The drink station(stale iced tea) and restroom(dirty) could use some attention at this location though. Hence the lower score.

Went to lunch with my sister and it was $ 25. The food was to spicy without warning. It was a waste of money and time.

Ok, so it’s not just me. Over the years Baja Fresh has been my go to place for a pinto bean and cheese burrito– I loved that place– I have decided that if I ever make the mistake of going there again I must remember to order a half bean and half cheese burrito. Time before last I let it go… but this time I am complaining– My burrito was filled with probably a cup and a half of pinto beans with a tablespoon of cheese at the most — I have no complaints about the service. it has always been good in my opinion– but the ratio of the ingredients has sadly diminished greatly–

Don’t know what happened but it was bad. Horrible service and the food was not good at all. Used to be consistently good. Can’t believe they’re still in business. Never again.

If I could put no stars I would. They close at 8:30pm during the week and as we were getting out of our car at 8:15pm to eat dinner the locked to door on us so we couldn’t eat! Now how rude is that! If there hours are to 8:30 then they should close at 8:30. 15 minutes left till closing they should of served us! They just lost a another customer and money! Never going back there again!

I’ve never had any issues with service here but I’ve also never been during the rush hour. But occasionally I will stop in and order one thing, the Diablo Shrimp Burrito. People, it is amazing. No joke, there are so many excellent Mexican restaurants in and around oxnard that going to a franchise spots just seems silly. Especially when, as some have noted, the other places are much cheaper. Still, this is one of the best shrimp burritos I’ve ever had. It’s really easy, ask for sour cream on the side, take your pick from the Baja Fresh salsa selection and enjoy. Trust me, if you like shrimp and you like black beans and spicy this is the burrito for you. As for everything else, I have no idea but this is worth it on its own. Try it or Diet Final Word Diablo Shrimp Burrito is a must try!

I used to frequently stop at Baja Fresh. it was that spot where you knew you were going to be getting consistency from, but my, my, my, how times have changed or did they change over time? The nachos used to be their forte and I ain’t talking about the bears running back! But last night the disappointment was inevitable. As much as I hoped that the first bites were just a fluke, they weren’t. The chips tasted old and weren’t crunchy, meat had no texture and with lackluster meat and chips, the rest of the toppings have no meaning. Really, only reason why it’s a 2 and not a 1 was because the employees there were nice and the place was semi-clean, at least. But besides those decencies, it’s like a woman taking a pregnancy test after menopause, no more positives! A lot of Baja Fresh have closed and I wouldn’t be surprised to see the same happen to this one.

The service here was terrible. I’m not sure if it was every ones first day on the job today, but they couldn’t get the orders strait. There was a lady who waited for her food for 25 minutes. We sat and watched our food sit on the counter for 10 minutes before any one served it and it was prepared like a 1st grader might have done it.

This is one of the worst Bajas I’ve ever been in. The service was so poor that we waited in line for over 10 min just to have our order taken. Keep in mind there was only one other customer in front of us. They were so disorganized that hey kept making the same order twice on several occasions. A family in front of us waited over 30 min for their food only to be told that because they ordered seafood it takes longer uhh… I’m calling BS. Needless to say my last trip to this place!

A couple in front of me took, no joke, seven minutes to order their food. In the last thirty seconds of their process, someone took note of that and approached the second register and asked if I would like to have my order taken. Uh, yeah, bro. I received a much different item than what I ordered. I was the second of two people to receive the wrong order while I was there. I had to order cheese«extra» for the Burrito Mexicano. Yet, somehow, the Baja Burrito comes with cheese. Huh. The floor was covered in water and shoe track marks in an area of approximately two and a half feet in diameter. One employee saw it, no one did anything about it. There are many restaurants that offer the same type of food as Baja Fresh, yet it cost me $ 20 to feed two people one meal each, and only one medium beverage. Thankfully I used the $ 5 off coupon that came in the mail. Lastly, I took their survey and wrote down a code that, if I chose to, would provide $ 5 off an order of $ 20 or more. For YEARS it has been«take our survey, we’ll give you $ 5 off an order of $ 15 or more». Keep it up, Baja Fresh. You’ll be gone soon.

I feel they’re slightly overpriced, especially considering the size of their burritos and the multitude of local burrito shops. Pretty standard as far as non-authentic places go. Very flavorful. I like the baja chicken burrito. I’d say it’s better than Rubio’s baja, and somewhat larger. A bit too dry in my opinion. My partner says the fish tacos are very good. Lame, boring chips, as you get with most burritos. Unremarkable salsa served from a communal salsa bar. Kinda gross. The outdoor seating was all covered in bird crap and hadn’t been cleaned in some time(unless there was some sort of bird convention that didn’t make the news). The Habit’s seating, a few doors away, was impeccable. Unpeckable? Update: Last time I was here we waited 30 minutes for our meal… worse than many sit-downs. They’re not really prepared for any sort of rush — there were only 5 orders ahead of our 2 when this happened.

Earlier in the week I didn’t feel like cooking. I was looking through the mail and there was a coupon for $ 5 off $ 15 at Baja Fresh. We ordered: –Queso Fundido(chips with warm cheese dip) –Seafood Taco Trio(wahoo and shrimp for him) –Steak Baja Bowl(rice, pinto beans, fajita veggies, topped with steak, onions, & cilantro) My honey liked his plate and said the grilled wahoo was his favorite. I filled up on chips and dip and barely touched my Baja Bowl. The leftovers were great for lunch the next day! We hadn’t been to Baja Fresh in a long time but I’m glad we went back. Great spot for a quality, affordable weeknight dinner.

Very friendly stuff, food came out super quick during midweek lunch rush and this location in particular had a ton of indoor and outdoor seating. I was given chips as I waited for my food and the place was well cleaned up. Only downfall is that lack of choices at the salsa bar.

I wish the original owners of Baja Fresh didn’t sell out! Their food use to be so good, the service was great and the restaurant use to be clean. I hope the new owners see this posting so they can take a hint. So, here it is… FIXBAJAFRESHANDMAKEITTHEWAYITUSETOBEBEFOREYOUBOUGHTITOUT!!!
