Very laid back place, great atmosphere. Staff friendly, food great and kitchen is right in front of you which is fun. Oh. And theres a great wine selection at Venice Beach Wines.

I think this place is lovely. Servers were very friendly. I had two French wines that I was really excited about. The Sancerre is hard to come by where I live. I ordered the bacon wrapped dates, which were awesome. Smokey, salty, sweet. Delicious!

We always try to go to Superba on the weekend after two-thirty only to be told they aren’t servign any more because they shot down between brunch and dinner. I’m so glad they do. Because every time we ultimately end up going to VBW. The wine and beer selections are fantastic and the food is always good. We’ve had the usual charcuterie and cheese plates as well as fish rillettes. This afternoon we had a brie and truffle oil pizza. You might as well call it the Smell of Sex pizza because that’s what it smells like, so God bless them for taking it to that place. It was delicious. Not too salty, not too crazy. Simple and good. The only problem with Venice Beach Wines is that it’s a very small place. As a wine store it isn’t conducive to shopping, and as a restaurant you are at the mercy of who is seated two inches from your table. Still, I’ll put up with proximity for good service and great food and this place has it in spades.

Cute little beachy wine place with an unfortunately high level of LA attitude. Sat down for a quick drink while we waited for a burrito to go being made at the mexican joint next door. Got a menu from inside, then was brought a happy hour menu from a waitress who seemed honestly not give two fucks about working that Monday evening… but water off the duck as they say, right? Happy hour menu has no list of which beer is on the HH draught, just a list inside. I walk in and ask which beers are on happy hour, and our deadpan without the comedy waitress points at the wall chalk menu, and then says«but we don’t have the pilsner». Fair enough I say, and go for the IPA. Order a cool white wine for my cool tanned friend, and all things go swell as one would expect at a cute little beachy wine bar. Cut to payment time inside. $ 8 for my beer. «I’m sorry, I thought you said the beer was on happy hour?» «No, the pilsner is on happy hour, not the(insert name of „craft“ brewery) IPA. The beer you ordered is way more expensive.» Oh, is it? Why would I ask about the happy hour beers, then order the most expensive one? That is bad waitressing waitressing in a nutshell. She didn’t even bother to mention this information when I ordered, and then delivered that kernel of info at bill time with such disdain that I think the drinks we had ordered were probably initially warm, and had been cooled solely by the power of this ice princess. It doesn’t take much to be a good server/bartender/human being in this world… the secret? Give a fuck. -** minus two stars **Also this place has THEMOST uncomfortable seating I think I’ve ever experienced at a cozy«looking» wine joint. -* minus one star ***CAVEAT*** Please note there were two people sitting next to us on a 1st/2nd/3rd date who seemed to be enjoying themselves, so take our experience with a grain of margarita salt.

If I ever move to LA, Venice Beach might be the neighborhood for me. A bit grungy, full of character, laidback, and sprinkled with fantastic food joints. I’m all about that locally sourced organic food life ;). Everything we ordered was delicious, but our favorite was the Grilled Sardine bruschetta. It’s a shame that sardines get a bad rap and are severly underhyped in the states. Be like a European and embrace the simple pleasures in life, in the form of a fresh, wild-caught, and well grilled sardine. I also ordered the Grilled Peach Salad, which came with burrata, speck, and arugula. All the details were executed well — the peach was ripe and juicy, the portions were well balanced, and the dressing was light and barely there, allowing the bold ingredients to take the spotlight. I was already full from the salad and half of the sardine dish, but I still had the Lambwich coming up. The Lambwich panini is cut into 4 portions, making it easy to eat and deceptively small looking. Don’t be fooled, it’s filling! It’s a solid sandwich that satisfies your tastebuds, especially if you love manchego and pesto. The curry flavoring of the lamb is light, which allowed the other strong flavors of the dish, pesto and a spicy dipping sauce, to be equal players on my palate. The venue is on the small and intimate side, so be prepared to get up close and personal with other guests. Our server was quick, attentive, and made us feel right at home. This is a must if you’re in Venice!

The lychee mimosa bounces up and down and fizzes around the glass and it’s super fun! The mimosa itself is a bit sweet. The place is small and our large group had to squish but we made it work by standing around the back room.

This place is majorly-cute. And I mean cute in décor but also tiny. It’s a cozy nook with a super-chill vibe with decent wines and an eclectic music selection. Because of the size,(again, it’s small) I think it’s best to meet one maybe two friends for a catch up or as a one-drink spot before going to your next venue. I came knowing I had dinner reservations elsewhere but just wanted to check it out and visit with a couple friends who were making their night of it. Pro: Pretty attentive service. There were only two servers there but they made sure to keep an eye on everyone and not let the crowd to server ratio hinder the attention levels. Pro: They offer tastings before choosing your wine. Pro: The snack selections or as they call them«Nibbles» are great. I had the Castelvetrano Olives and the Spiced Almonds. Both delightful.(I also tasted some of the hummus because one of my friends ordered it and it was the only thing they ordered that I could sample and it was pretty good as well. From the mouths of friends: I am vegan so I couldn’t eat these things(plus I was having dinner elsewhere) but my friend Annie said she wanted to «marry the Bacon Wrapped Dates w/Blue Cheese.» Now, I know there’s been a lot of legislation recently about who can marry and who can’t and as always, I say, «love is love,» so why not? They also ordered the Fromage a Trois, which is listed under their Melty Hot Pots so the innuendo-centric name is fitting. They loved that too. Three cheeses melted together with white truffle oil? Hard to hate that if you’re a cheese person, I’d imagine. Con: They are sticklers on the pour. Not overly-generous so if you’re looking for a full glass, look elsewhere. Con: The size. You absolutely can not come with a group and expect everyone to be seated. It’s tiny tiny tiny but it’s great for you and a friend. As for parking, there are meters around as well as free parking on side streets I’d definitely go back. I just probably wouldn’t make a night of it.

Cute place for a bite to eat and sip on some wine. WARNING: This place is absolutely tiny! I came in on a Friday night during their happy hour and managed to grab a seat outdoors. Although the seating area was really nice and you get to enjoy the fresh outdoors, the tables are so freaking tiny! It is hard to have several plates on your table because there is just no room… And everyone is so close together. FOOD: Other than that, the food was pretty good. It all goes well with a glass of wine. To start things off we got the bacon wrapped dates. These babies were my favorite. A sweet and savory appetizer with crispy bacon wrapped around the outside. It is wrapped around blue and goat cheese drizzled with a pomegranate glaze. Must get these! Then we got the happy hour charcuterie which comes on a board with bread, one type of cheese, and one type of meat all for $ 10. Meh. Not much going on the plate. I’ve definitely had better charcuterie boards elsewhere. Maybe if I didn’t get the happy hour version, I would have been a bit more satisfied. 2⁄5 Then we got the hanger steak with garlic roasted potato and a mixed green salad. The meat was so tender and juicy. They seared the steak to absolute perfection and it was seasoned quite nicely. The hanger steak was still pink and beautiful on the inside. The side garlic roasted potato was also great. Two thumbs up! Afterwards, to lighten things up, we finished our meal with the grilled peach salad with burrata. Everyone was ordering this, so we had to try it too. The salad was light, refreshing, and not overly saturated with dressing. The peaches were perfectly ripe and the grill added a slight char to it. Best of all, the peaches weren’t too sweet. They accompanied the bitter arugula wonderfully. SERVICE: I noticed that there was only one server and he was on his best! Served everyone, brought the food out quickly, and constantly made sure everything was great. What I truly appreciated is that he offered you a sample glass of wine before your decision. Definitely have to check this place out! PARKING: There is some free parking on the residential streets. I think it worth finding.

Such a cute little wine and beer joint. The venue is small but very warm and inviting, great for date or girls night. Great selection of wine, I had a glass of Chardonnay that tasted delightful. Best part is the food is AMAZING!!! We ordered the baked Brie which was to die for. As well as my favorite sandwich called the Lambwich. It has a lot of Indian spices and the meat is so tender, it’s unlike any sandwich you have ever had. We also had the hanger steak which was good too. This place is a must! Especially if you want to avoid tourists and just want some good local eats.

Absolutely loved this little Venice Beach hotspot. Though it might be a little bit of a trek from where I currently reside in Hollywood I would come out here for their lamb sandwich alone. The food was excellent all around and ambiance was intimate which made for a great hangout or date night spot. That awesome Pressed Lambwich Sandwich I mentioned was made w/Curry Rotisserie Lamb, Machengo, Mint Pesto, Tomato Onion Jam. I don’t think I’ve ever consumed a lamb dish more delicious than this right here. The meat was soooooo tender and juicy, curry flavor complimented it so well! Sandwich was pressed panini style and served with a side of kettle chips. One word: BOMB. Bacon Wrapped Dates w/Blue Cheese, Goat Cheese & Pomegranate Glaze. The best version of this appetizer I’ve had. If you’re gonna eat bacon wrapped dates anywhere it should definitely be here. Another great appetizer was an option found under Melty Hot Pots — Fromage a Trois — w/Fontina, Gouda, Parmigiano Reggiano, and White Truffle Oil. How could you go wrong with melted ooey gooey cheese of any kind?! Seared Sesame Ahi Tuna Salad w/Seaweed, cucumbers, red onions, fennel, quince ponzu dressing. Light and refreshing, ahi seared and coated in sesame seeds. The absolute perfect light meal. Hanger Steak w/Rosemary Garlic Roasted Potato and Mixed Greens. They seriously know how to grill their steak to perfection leaving it pink and juicy in the center. The potato itself was just delicious as well. Two thumbs up. For dessert we opted to try their Strawberry Lavender Shortcake topped w/Meyer Lemon Whipped Cream & Pistachios everyone seemed to be ordering. Pretty self explanatory. The cake itself was very light and fluffy almost more angel like in texture and was yummy. Definitely recommend dining here for a casual yet intimate dining experience.

What an awesome spot! They have great ambience, high quality beers and wines, coffees, and a concise food menu. I was really happy to grab a table outside with my kids and enjoy some QT. The pizzas are AWESOME!- thin crust and gourmet!

I love Venice Beach Wines. It’s a tiny little place on Rose right next to Oscars Cerveteca(same owners — who are awesome and very friendly). Covered outdoor seating area. Good music playing. Great wine selection and range of prices. Amazing food. Brie & Truffle Oil pizza is sooo good. Looking at their menu and writing about VBW makes me wonder why I don’t come here more often. So much YUM!!!

Went here with a couple of friends for cocktails and a couple of apps. Overall good place to grab a drink. I would recommend this restaurant for a drink with friends. Cozy and casual atmosphere with friendly service. While I was there we had a couple of appetizers. We had the Fromage a Trois(fontina, gouda, parmigiano reggiano, white truffle oil) and bacon wrapped dates. The Fromage was delicious and addictive. I wanted to keep ordering more. Then you wrap anything in bacon and it is good. The bacon wrapped dates were typical tasting bacon wrapped dates. Nothing too special. We did not eat dinner so I am not sure about the whole menu, however it was a good place to grab a drink and a couple quick bites.

Such a great wine bar! Came on a Friday night and got lucky with there being a small table to squeeze right in to. They have delicious food, we tried their cheese plate, Ahi Poke and Hummus. The Poke was my favorite, super fresh. The vibe here makes it, they play great music and it’s super cozy and low key. Can’t wait to go back!

Intimate, cozy neighborhood retail wine and beer place with a tiny but busy kitchen. We finished our evening here for a final glass of wine next to the space heaters, and we loved the vibe(not to mention the wine and beer). This little stretch of Rose Ave. has become like a mini Abbott-Kinney, and definitely worth spending a few nights exploring.

If you like wine and good food, this is a great place for you. It’s small, charming, and they have a cute little patio out front. Love the ambiance and love that the staff is super friendly and attentive. Love their pizza, very delicious! Their pulled pork sandwich is also to die for! Good wine selection, if you’re into wine. Highly recommended but it can get busy!

We were in Santa Monica and looked to Unilocal to find a place to get a glass of wine… Unilocal is so helpful, told us which ones were open and which were closed and when they would be open, also gave us accurate distances. We decided on Venice Beach Wines a couple miles away. So glad we did! It was a great place and they have a very impressive selection of wines! My wife had a glass of Sonoma Cabernet which was great, I switched gears and had a beer, Delerium Tremens! Mmmm DT! The girl who served us was awesome and nice, helpful in finding a local place to do some last minute Christmas shopping too. We bought a very unique bottle of French wine that is sitting in our cupboard for that special occasion. We didn’t eat the food but it looke very good as well.
