Vegan Scene

I’m a meat eater, but I love this place :)
Of note, I often take their conditioning fitness class on Wednesdays, which is a HIIT class with yoga in between — one of the finest workouts in LA.
The clothing is also great, and the staff is terrific. I look forward to this place becoming a focal point of life in Venice.

I’ve been contemplating whether or not to leave this review, but decided it’s important for people to know. Came to Vegan Scene earlier this month to do some shopping for my cousin. She is obese and decided recently to turn her life around and has fully adopted a vegan lifestyle and is exercising a lot. This place sounded right up her alley, so i went to get her a christmas present.
Was greeted by… no one. There was a girl behind the desk buried in her cellphone who didn’t even bother to look up at me when I entered. I started browsing the clothing and eventually found a shirt that I thought was cool for my cousin, but everything on display was super tiny. I asked the worker if she had any different sizes. She said what was displayed was all they had. I asked her if there was anything in an XXL and she straight up laughed, like out loud. I asked what was so funny and she replied «this is a place for VEGAN people». Implying that people who follow this «lifestyle» must have model bodies. That’s when I left. Fat shaming isn’t too openminded to me.
In conclusion, if you’re into stuck up egotistical LA stereotypes, and cliquey people who bleed the vegan-​nazi lifestyle, come here, I’m sure you’ll fit right in. And if you’re wondering, yes, I found a great shirt for my cousin at another place in LA where the staff was polite and understanding to my needs.

Love this addition to the community! The space has so much going on! Taking a yoga class in this space (with it’s floor to ceiling windows) is just heavenly. I recommend taking any of the fitness classes. I’ve taken both Emily and Megan’s yoga classes and they are such a great way to start your Sunday (Megan) or close out your Monday (Emily).
Really a unique space. Definitely check it out!

The Spork Sisters cooking class held at chic Vegan Scene was TERRIFIC! Heather and Jenny are welcoming, fun, knowledgeable, DARLING and very talented chefs. I’ve tried for months to take one of their cooking classes; I’m so glad that Amy hosted the event in her wonderful store. The food was delicious and the class was entertaining. I highly recommend that you follow the Spork Sisters and be sure to stop by Vegan Scene!

There are two kinds of people in this world. People who like doing yoga while watching laser cat slideshows and people I want nothing to do with. Vegan scene has both!
I’ve been here twice for yoga and had a great time both times. Sam is a great instructor and is patient with a beginner but she would also be capable of teaching more advanced students as well. 5 stars!

There are all kinds of vegans running around LA, and not all of us will love the Vegan Scene. But for the fashionable person with a subscription to VegNews and a penchant for expensive non-​leather handbags, who may prefer to buy a (gasp) $ 25 natural deodorant because it smells wonderful rather than use a crystal, this place will feel like a little paradise cloud. And if your loved one is of this glossy mag veg set, Vegan Scene is exactly the place to go for a special occasion gift. Places like Vegan Scene are helping to bring a cruelty-​free, eco-​friendly, socially-​conscious lifestyle into the mainstream, and while the former punky kid inside me gaped at the privileged products, the LA woman I’ve become left with a gorgeous Matt+Nat purse, fabulous yoga gear, and yeah, that deodorant.

For my birthday, I got a gift certificate for a cooking class with Spork Foods. My family’s way of saying I eat too much meat! I’d be the least likely person to turn up at a Vegan place but that’s just the kinda challenge…
The location was spotless and a brief education on hip: simplicity and high quality. Heather and Jenny were super energetic, knowledgeable and smooth. Thankfully it was the lazy kind of class during which you can watch and listen then chow down without Master Chef pressure! I had a great experience and expect to take many more classes!

Stylish, clean, welcoming place with cool shirts and sweet vegan apparel in the heart of a rockin’ neighborhood. And Vegan Scene even hosts westside Spork Foods cooking classes? Too much awesomeness for me to handle. I want to live here!

I love everything about vegan scene! The space is gorgeous and everyone who works there is incredibly friendly, from the instructors to the owner. Their original line of clothing is awesome and I’ve seen the shirts at so many vegan events. They always look amazing! The other retail items are beautifully and carefully curated and they have so many hard to find vegan retail item (the best matt and nat items!!).
It’s all so perfect!

Hip, Modern, and a ton of fun! First, the Spork Sisters are so awesome, go there just for them. What a wonderful class they teach, you can learn so much and they answer all sorts of questions. There’s a wonderful array of things for sale. I definitely will go shopping here for the pretty ladies in mylife. It’s a pretty spectacular place. Whoever put it together knows how to make a place look great!
I wish they’d build another one in the Pasadena area. or maybe just open a chain? We need more one stop shopping like this place.

I have been to a bunch of Spork Foods classes and loved them so when I learned that they were teaching at a new spot in Venice I signed up right away. The classes are so much fun and Vegan Scene is modern, clean and beautiful. I attended the Spanish Tapas Class and we learned how to make 4 dishes. The gazpachio was my favorite! I highly recommend their classes regardless of your skill level — some are hands on, some are more demonstration, but either way, you’ll learn a ton, eat a great meal, and get one step closer to enjoying a healthy lifestyle. Highly recommended!

I went to a vegan class here and the two sisters (Spork Foods) who taught were so adorable. Prior to the evening, I researched several health conscious cooking classes and theirs stood out in terms of creativity and variety. It was like watching a cooking show live. There was no hands on cooking, which would have been nice, but they were super spunky and very knowledgable about vegan food. The highlight was getting to eat what they created. In terms of the space, it’s very hip and modern. Would love a quicker response time from Vegan Scene, but otherwise, great location and energy. :)
