Seaweed salad is good. But then you add how this place willingly holds food items to your ridiculous pickiness and I AMINLOVE So healthy. So good. So Hawaiian. So go there and eat! You won’t be disappointed. I recommend carrying out rather than dining in unless you just can’t get enough people watching. And hopefully Jordan is working cuz that kid will work hard for you

This isn’t the classiest or the healthiest of places but it’s my go –to spot when I’m on the venice boardwalk. The prices are super cheap and the food is most always tasty. Order at the window by the boardwalk and you’ll get some chips which you use pick up your food on the right hand side. I recommend the carne asada fries, any pizza with the spinach sesame crust, any soda float, the fried Oreos, the funnel cake and the Apple fries. I have to strongly recommend AGAINST the fried pizza. It sounds like fun but it’s disgusting, super oily and impossible to finish. My mom and I ordered one for funsies and were retching in the sand within an hour. and Also please please beware of being blitz by bird shit whilst ordering/waiting/eating.

I was hungry at the beach and saw a sign for NYC pizza by the slice, what’s not to love, right? You order on one side and pick it up from a window on the other. A quick glance at the menu revealed they had a fat ton of offerings on the menu, burgers, Mexican, pizza, even some crazy stuff like whole turkey drumsticks(that should of been a huge red flag). I went with a few slices, the pizza didn’t look that appetizing but I was hungry, so I scarfed it down. The best comparison I could make is the type of pizza you’d get at a carnival. I wouldn’t visit here again, there is a lot better places in Venice for a quick bite to eat.

Their DEEPFRIEDPIZZA is very good. Their chicken is good too. Expensive($ 10 for 2 slices) but worth trying atleast once.

The carnival inspired menu draws me back in every year or two, and every time I regret it. I’m not going in with high expectations, just looking for simple, unhealthy comfort food. The pizza is bland and greasy(even by boardwalk standards). The deep fried pizza is even worse(my own fault for ordering that monstrosity). This time I just wanted a simple hot fudge sundae, figuring that would be tough for them to screw up. What I got was a 20+ minute wait for a small scoop of cheap ice cream buried under mounds of runny whipped cream, strawberry topping, some stale nuts and a token drizzle of chocolate syrup. It was like they bought $ 5 worth of ingredients at Smart and Final, handed them to a 5-year-old and had him mass producing sundaes. Except a kid might try harder or provide better customer service. They have an extensive menu, but so far none of it has been good. This place is the epitome of a jack of all trades, master of none.

Wow Big Daddy’s and Sons pizza spot totally satisfies your carnival inspired cravings. Deep fried pizza slices, chicken, Oreo’s and much more delectable temptations. When I got to Venice Beach I came to realize why I never come here it is a nasty tourist trap and it is crazy busy. Parking is terrible and free parking is nearly impossible if you don’t like walking or if you’re out of patience. But once you park you have the joy of walking through crowded streets and busy walk ways with tons of people everywhere. Of course there are the street performers everywhere providing free entertainment or at least for a donation. The boardwalk is a mess and wish the city would provide a better service to maintain the area especially because it creates so much business. The sidewalks are dirty and the sand is full of trash and glass. But even though the area is grimy and grungy it is iconic place to visit especially if you like to see the hustle and bustle of freaky city life. Once you get over the shock of the environment you come to realize that all the walking makes you hungry and you reach for the unhealthiest option available. So Big Daddy’s and sons has the perfect menu to choose from in order to replace those lost calories. My family and I went with the fried chicken and the fried pepperoni slice. The chicken was crunchy and flavor full and you can tell they season their chicken before frying it. As for the slice they gave me a small wooden token that I had to pick up on the side of the building where I found a crowd of customers waiting for funnel cakes and slices. My slice took 5 minutes or so and it was pretty loud so pay attention when they call your name. The slice was crunchy and flavorful and molting hot in the inside. I guess I just couldn’t wait to bite into it that I burned the inside of my mouth. I would definitely order the chicken and pizza again my only thing is that I would add more toppings to the pizza so I can taste the inside. I couldn’t taste the pepperoni due to the batter so extra cheese or toppings would just elevate this slice to a fried calzone status. Oh yeah you know I am going back and I gave it 5 stars compared to other fast and cheap dishes.

Yes I’m guilty of eating those delicious funnel cakes, I’ve tried the pizza and hot dogs nothing special, just average food.

This place is a disaster! They have so many things on the menu and can’t keep anything straight. Not sure what else I can say that would be useful, there are many other places to choose from, go elsewhere!

Been here twice in one week and it was better each time. Shelly was her name and being awesome to the customers is her game and plays it well. Will definitely be back thanks to the food of course and thanks to shelly with her positive and awesome customer service.

Ordered delivery and even though the menu states blatantly that«all sausages and hot dogs come dipped in BQ sauce and with grilled onions automatically» they did not come with anything on them. Completely bare! The garlic clove pizza was average, not outstanding. The hot dog was tasty and bun was soft, but the spicy chicken sausage was dry and the bun was stale. I was upset about two things: both dogs were without the automatic toppings and the delivery driver had no change even though I had said ahead of time I would pay cash. Lucky for her she got a beyond average tip even though there was lack of toppings and friendliness upon delivery. When I called in to give feedback I had to work to pull concern from the manager I spoke to. She did offer to have the driver bring back grilled onions although it did seem as if she was missing the point of the feedback completely. Guaranteed I will not be ordering delivery again. However the one savior to this experience and what may make me stop by next time I am on the venice boardwalk is their fried Oreos. Great little tasty dessert. Perfectly breaded and fried with ample powered sugar.

While Schoolteacher was busy running the LA Marathon, I had parked my car back in Santa Monica and was out about exploring the boardwalk area. I had made it down to Venice beach, and my tired feet took me here for a bit of a break. I wasn’t really initially interested in the place, until a sign reading«Breakfast pizza» caught my eye. I do love me some breakfast… and I do love me some Pizza. And that one time I had breakfast pizza before it was pretty darn magical. So let’s give it another shot. I walked up to the counter and asked for a slice of breakfast pizza… and a bottle of water. Girl behind the window took my card, charged it and handed me a wooden token with my card. The total was about seven dollars, so it wasn’t that terrible for lunch prices. She then instructed me to go around the corner to trade the wooden coin for my pizza in a few minutes. Just in front of the pizza shop there was a crowd. At the center of the crowd was a man, balancing quite high on several layers of things. He had an english accent, and told the crowd his name was Orion Griffis. He had the crowd really laughing and ooohing and aaahing at his really impressing balancing routine. I watched him for a lil bit and visited the window from time to time checking in on my pizza. Eventually lady waved a hand out the window and called me over. I exchanged my wooden token for a hot piece of pizza, piled high with eggs bacon and sausage. I set it down on a counter, and took a photo of it. I picked it up to take a bite, and much of the toppings slid off. I picked the toppings back up and piled them back on the pizza. I took a careful bite and it was really good. So, it’s breakfast ON pizza. Not quite the breakfast pizza I had envisioned. I watched Orion finish his show while I ate my pizza, and drank my water. I was happy to be not walking. After a bit of a break, I threw out my garbage, washed my hands, and began to hoof it back to Santa Monica Pier.

Yummmm! Love the pizza! When riding my bike on the boardwalk or spending an afternoon on the beach. This is my favorite place for pizza. I love it with EVERYTHING on it. Sometimes it can be a while but what did you expect? Your on the boardwalk and there’s usually at least 1 more person in front of you waiting for a slice of pizza. So depending on what you want on it is the time needed to heat the thing. So RELAX, enjoy the scenery! And, help out the guy that’s asking for your change around the corner — he needs a beer, man!

We were in Venice on the boardwalk and hungry. A friend we were w/suggested this joint since some of us were feeling pizza. First off the ordering process is confusing and not explained. This is a major issue because if you don’t already know how to order here you will surely be left standing around like you did what you were suppose to but did not. Be sure to look for the specials because they are quite the good deal. You can find them on the chalkboard standing on the sidewalk. We got the 3 slices of pepperoni for $ 10, which since there were 3 of us that wanted in on it it was perfect. They also offered 2 slices of pep w/a soda for $ 9. Another decent deal considering the location. The pizza was aight. It filled us and the slices were a good size which made it a plus. It is literally right on the boardwalk so all considering it was worth the $. I would place it right above your typical carnival pizza when it came to flavor and taste.

A coworker of mine recommended this place when I visited venice beach. This place was pretty good. I got a slice of pepperoni and was really good; I also tried a slice of fried pizza and it was interesting. It was battered deep fried pizza and it was very crispy on the outside but soft on the inside. It was too heavy for me so I probably would not get this again I would just stick to their baked pizza. I didn’t get a chance to order the twinkies or oreos cause I was too full but I will give it a shot next time. The guy at the counter was really cool and friendly. This is a good place to try if you are visiting venice.

Major disappointment… perhaps just disillusionment. I have been coming here since I was a wee little lass. Big daddy’s giant pizza slices were what I looked forward to getting while strolling on the boardwalk. It has come to be a part of the Venice experience; so, naturally, while in Venice, I made it a point to stop here. The people were very nice, young, and friendly, but the pizza itself was utterly gross. It tasted worse than my dollar microwavable Celeste pizzas :( Not crispy — cooked/baked enough, the way good thin pizza is. I feel bloated and sad I ate so much of my giant slice instead of tossing it. The crust of my single cheese slice was coated with garlicky seasoning, which was probably the highlight of the sticky, stuffy, disgusting experience. I’m deeply saddened when things I have loved as a child are so abhorrent as an adult. Will definitely NEVER be coming back. #nomsohard #epicfail

I’ve only had pizza here. Just regular pizza. It’s fine. Not the best, not at all bad. I kinda want to try their fried pizza but wow — fried pizza that doesn’t sound healthy :o Service when you order & pay is fine. You get a token or laminated ticket and are told to wait at the pick up windows around the corner. Sometimes there’s an odd crowd hanging around. Locals, homeless locals, German tourists — it’s an interesting wait. They don’t seem on top of things and either it takes a long time to get a slice(sometimes) or they just kinda forget for a while. I find it best to politely, ask every now and then — don’t just wait because you can be standing there for some time.

When you’re in Venice Beach, you have to take everything with a grain of salt. I’ve long ago realized that you’re at a beach environment and everything is probably going to be overpriced and average. Big Daddy and Sons was no exception to that rule. We opted to eat here because we were in the mood for pizza and it was pretty cheap compared to the other places. We ordered a slice of Pepperoni Pizza and a slice of the Hawaiian pizza. I thought we were going to get our pizza relatively quickly but they told us to go around the corner and wait in line. There was a huge crowd waiting for their food and it took forever for our food to come out. To make it worse, our slices came out at totally different times so by the time my slice came out, my boyfriend was half way through his pizza already. However, it was a good pizza. Tasty and pretty big for the price. I would have liked a little more sauce but nothing to complain about. If you REALLY have to eat pizza while at Venice Beach, I say check this place out but don’t expect anything special. 3⁄5

Walking Venice Beach, it seems like all the ticky-tacky stores have the«BEST(insert product here)». As a New Yorker, when a place brags the best pizza on Venice Beach, I take that statement with a grain of salt. As we approached and took notice of the line packed with local skateboarders(the park’s right nearby) and eclectic residents, we reconsidered and decided to try a slice here. My friend and I opted for the plain pizza… priced at $ 2.50, it’s cheaper than most other places on the boardwalk. You can up the ante and get your slice battered and fried for $ 0.50 more, which is what we both did. Here’s a pic: Despite the seemingly dry looking exterior, a bite gave way to gooey awesomeness tucked beneath that top battered layer. I’d liken the experience to chewing on a flat mozzarella stick that’s already got the dipping sauce included. It’s no New York slice, but Big Daddy & Sons is damn close, and the fried pizza is definitely worth an experience. Be prepared to do some more walking to burn it all off afterwards though :)
