This is a very special shop. There is an abundance of colorful, quality fabric and the owners are so helpful and happy to see you. I come over from Kirkland with a Seattle friend and it is such a wonderful day. There are discount coupons for a restaurant by the quilt shop. Come see Island Quilter. You will not be disappointed.

Was drawn into this shop by the artwork you can clearly see on display (through their windows) from the road. From what I saw, and I’m no quilter, they had a wide variety of colors to work with.
I had a nice conversation with the shop worker/​owner about the exhibit or pieces he had on display and then was on my way. All in all a good environment if this were you hobby.

I came here with my mother who is an incredibly accomplished Quilter and knitter (among other things). Friendly staff, kaleidoscope of color (quilters haven for brights, not so many darks). Not a lot of patterns or samples… which means if you are a person who needs to see something to know what you want to make, this may not be your place. Ended up getting three different fabrics to solve three different quilt blocks (ha! Get it, road block).
Definitely factor in the price of the ferry when getting over here unless of course you’re just coming to visit Vashon Island which of course, I highly recommend!
