AMAZINGPLACETOEAT! By far my favourite restaurant. Where to start, the steak bites are the best I’ve ever had. I love to get them with blue cheese roasted on top. The truffle fries will melt in your mouth, so delicious. They have an incredible happy hour. The bartenders are probably the nicest I’ve ever experienced at a bar. Plenty of space to sit or have a group of people.

Came here just for drinks and appetizers to enjoy a football game. I liked the environment, plenty of TV’s to watch the game. We ordered the hummus as an appetizer. It was delicious as far as hummus goes. Enjoyed a nice glass of wine and my husband had a couple of beers. We were both pleased. The staff was friendly. They opened the door for us and our server kept our drinks filled.

Consistently disappointed with this location compared to the downtown Vancouver one. I have been here a couple of times within the last several weeks and have had to hunt down a server both times just to order food and drinks in the bar. Hoping for some better service the next time I decide to visit since I love the downtown location so much!

Update on Christmas. Terry C. reaches out to me personally and apologized for her terrible aloof and questionable service and business practices. I gives me hope for the younger generation when they are able to repent for their wrong doings. Terry. I raised your score to two stars because you are will to go the extra half mile to admit that you’re not very nice sometimes and I believe that. You’re NOT as bad of a person as you led us to believe that night. Merry Christmas — — – So i earlier rated this place a one star. I would like to rate it a 0 star. The lady who was at the hostess station, whom I mentioned in my previous review, private messages me. She was very disrespectful. She is an Internet bully. This place has lost the McCray family business for good. I hope you got was you wanted, Tiana C., a very upset mother of 9 and grandmother of 21. Shame on you.

This is an exceptional establishment. Much nicer than your average sports bar. Food is tremendous. Great atmosphere even if you are not into sports.

This main event is very different from the one in downtown Vancouver. This seems more ritzy than a sports bar. It actually reminded me of Portland City Grill… I don’t know why. But what was I guess supposed to be big screen tvs showing the football game… Well I have seen better TV’s in a dive bar. Sure there was a lot of them but I couldn’t even make out the score or at first who was playing. and I must have looked at 5 different TVs from where I was sitting… I wouldn’t really call this s sports bar. it’s to fancy pants. Now on that point. Yes it is nice, clean but not my stomping grounds. I love sports, would rather be somewhere where I can see/hear the game. But if you like high heels, wine, and being picked up on. This place is for you!

How come I have to ask for basic condiments. Ketchup. Hot Sauce salt pepper. Please don’t let me bother your conversation. Wait person. Food was cold.

After quite some time, as we live outside the area, we were back at the Main Event! The food, great as always, love the new keg system in place, Great job on keeping the place fresh and new. Service was excellent! Can’t wait for our next visit!

Went here to watch the Apple Cup and was happy to find both that and the Civil War in the TVs! We hung out for awhile, ordered drinks and food and were very comfortable. The couches and lounge chairs are a great addition to the space for longer games and family time. My complaint today was that our food and drinks came out very slowly. I waited for my beer for more than 20 mins and food took over 30 mins every time we ordered something. We came in on the early side of the day so I think the bartender was still our server through the afternoon and he looked super busy. It also may have been a problem in the kitchen, I’m not sure. We weren’t in any rush but I felt it was out of character as I have had a positive experience here in the past. This is a great place to watch a game, I would just hope they can improve service time in the future :)

They have the FiveStar card for collecting rewards and receiving awards! It seems like every time I go I get free appetizers! Hell ya! Chicken mac and cheese is amazing. My husband loves all the TV screen for all his sport needs. Convenient, clean, and classy!

Had fun here with friends on a Saturday night it’s big and a nicer bar wish they offered more drink and food choices. Will be returning the new waitress that helped us on Halloween was AWESOME!

Pretty yummy, and a good place to hangout! The only bad thing I would say is that there food is a little pricey… But overall, cool place.

So, this is a popular choice for my office happy hours due to location. I wouldn’t come here on any other occasion simply because of the location, the horrific parking lot, and trying to get anywhere but south. They have a fantastic happy hour food selection, but only do $ 1 off wells/beers/wines. A friend of mine started bartending here recently, so I’ll at least be happy to visit during work events.

Good amount of TV’s. Good amount of seating. Typical sports bar. Better than your typical sports bar chain. Decent selection of beer. Laid-back.

Compared to the one downtown, this one was not near as good. Longer waits, more dry food, and so on. When we ordered the Truffle Fries, we had to send them back because they tasted like they had been sitting out for a couple days. But, they did take them back and give us a new plate of them for free as soon as we asked. The service here was pretty darn good, but other than that, I prefer downtown. TL;DR: Head on to downtown, yo.

Fourth visit to Main Event. The only reason I’m writing this is so that hopefully management will see it. Dear friend, it’s summer yet it still gets chilly at night… So why is it always 65 degrees in here? Open your door, crack a window but please Lord shut off the AC. 4 visits in and my lady and I left every single visit early to head elsewhere because it is uncomfortably cool. The entire restaurant had their arms crossed at one point. Even the staff agreed. Food is always solid, good back bar selection, top 40 dance tunes for a sit down spot(a little weird & clubby feeling but meh…) the lights could be dimmer for night time. Decent deal on food, high brow back bar products are extremely over priced. Hopefully this winter you’ll have it warmer than the usual spot. We will see you then. Also, cold does not make me want to eat or drink more. Want to love you guys but can’t hang longer than a happy hour appetizer and one drink. Cheers Main Event.

A — OK. if I could give a 3.5 I would! When you see this place that is tucked into the side of what looks like strip-mall you wonder if you should go in. My vote is, you should. I was surprised by all the negative reviews on here! I have been to this particular location a few times. Once with a large group and a few times with a smaller group of 2 or 4. Both times we have sat in the restaurant part and not in the«bar». First off Ambiance — they need a bit of a renovation. It’s a little confusing when you walk in. Very open, but the«bar» feels weird when you are sitting there because of how spread out it was. It meshes with the rest of the restaurant. If you want it to be a nice sit down dinner location, do it. If you want buffalo wild wings feel do that. Don’t do both. Wait staff was very polite. Our server checked on us multiple times throughout dinner, and the buss boys asked us if we were finished with all the plates before picking them up. Which is nice to see. Food: I have ONLY been here for happy hour. The wedge salad, and the wings are great for someone who is hungry but not starving. Great portion size as well, even on the happy hour($ 7). Drinks are so-so I don’t love them, but I don’t hate them. Will totally be back because good wings are hard to come by, and the amount that they give you is great. The wait staff is personable and people … if you have to wait to be seated, grab menus and seat yourself ;) maybe they will get the picture that you were standing there for such a «long time».

We went there for lunch the other day. It took them 10 minutes to serve us water. The bartender was also the waiter. They served other people who came in after us. We ordered the«fast lunch» items because we had to be somewhere at 1. The place was mostly empty. We waited 40 minutes and were never served.

Routinely Disappointing. Aside for a couple bartenders and buss boys, the staff is abysmal. Last night, it took 5 minutes for a hostess to meander up to the front counter to ask if we needed to be seated. Maybe she was dropping a deuce, who knows? Hostesses then refused to seat us at 8:45pm because they«stop allowing minors in after 9pm». «Ok. .. But we’ve got 15 mins before 9pm, and you don’t even boot minors out after 9, just stop allowing people under 21 in. I’m confused as to what you’re trying to tell us if she’s OK to be in the restaurant for the remainder of the night and it’s 15 minutes before your cut off.» «It’s just a rule we have, OK? I can try to find a manager and see if we can allow you in.» –Hostess then waddles away and doesn’t return for another 5 minutes(yes, I kept track on my phone as this isn’t the first time we have had terrible service. Why I keep going back, I don’t effing know.) It’s like the staff is trained to be the least helpful they possibly can while still operating a restaurant. Whoever was the Hostess on 5÷19÷15 around 7pm needs to start thinking about a new career path. Service industry isn’t for you, bud. If I wanted shit service and overpriced beers, I’d head down to the Pearl. Stop putting lipstick on the pig that is Main Event, and start treating customers with respect.

My dad and I came here yesterday early afternoon for a late lunch. I have been away from the area a while and this place popped up right near his house so we wanted to give it a try. First of all I’m not sure if when it is busier if the service gets worse but out service was great. We sat in the bar area and because the bartender couldn’t get to us right away the server from the dining room got our drink order. The bartender was super congenial, almost to a cheesy fault but he was really nice. I had the veggie burger which is homemade and I LOVED it! The salad was bland, so maybe next time I’ll try a soup or fries. My dad loved his Main Event burger as well. All in all a great experience and I really want to go back for happy hour!
