Beautiful atmosphere. Went here for breakfast on a rainy Thursday morning to share a meal with a visiting uncle. Friendly and warm waitresses that you’d expect to come across at a mom and pop diner in the Midwest. We both had yogurt granola bowls. It was extremely lacking of flavor and effort. Chunky Greek yogurt sprinkled with what looked to be oats from a cereal box topped with cantaloupe, honeydew and strawberries. A really big bummer of a meal. The orange juice was also super bitter and didn’t taste fresh or even like oranges. I heard their lunch is much better. Won’t be returning for breakfast.

I had a gift card to this place. I didn’t know that it was over by the mall and I go over there all the time. We made a reservation online by recommendation of a friend. I’m glad that we did because it was very crowded and we only had to wait a few minutes to get seated. Nice atmosphere and very cozy for a January evening. We started out with drinks. Husband got a beer and I tried the Salty Pear martini. My martini was good but I switched to wine with dinner. I ordered the halibut with mashed potatoes and cherry tomato relish. So good. Husband ordered the Chef’s butcher block which was steak with blue cheese scalloped potatoes. He enjoyed his dish as well. We also got rustic bread to start. Overall for 3 drinks, two entrees and a small appetizer it was 89 dollars including tax. Not bad for a Saturday night out. I would recommend this place as somewhere to take out of town guests. I would also like to try them for lunch as I saw some sandwiches that looked intriguing on the lunch menu. Lots of hustle and bustle at this place as it is in a hotel lobby.

Our family has eaten brunch at Hudson’s many times over the years. With so many great places to eat and new ones popping up we haven’t been here for over a year. We were planning a business brunch this Sunday and decided to go to Hudson’s as they have always used fresh local ingredients when possible. My wife’s stomach is sensitive at times especially if the food is not very fresh or organic. No not an episode Portlandia. For Sunday Brunch they have $ 4.00 Bloody Mary and Mimosas. Bloody Mary was ok not great. We ordered crab risotto; classic eggs Benedict; bacon omelet and the Farmer’s Breakfast. Risotto was cooked nicely with good flavors and a scoop of crab meat. Farmer’s Breakfast was three eggs; sausage; bacon; potato gratin; charred tomato slice and couple slices of sourdough toast. Everything was delicious and service was pretty quick and efficient. Will try to remember to be back more often when we are in Vancouver as this is a great place for brunch.

Excellent and amazing«bar» food, but still a few things done differently could have knocked it out of the park. Ordered a few happy hour plates and for $ 30 we left stuffed and happy, that part was amazing. Tillamook cheeseburger, House Smoked Salmon BLT sliders, brocollini, Brussel Sprouts and Cesar salad. They were slammed and understaffed apparently. Took about 15 mins to take our drink order. Went for the hard stuff that night and had a house made lemonade. It was yummy. They knocked the burger out of the park. It was the most juiciest burger we have ever had and the bun was to die for, not to mention the house made ketchup. The Smoked Salmon sliders were equally as delicious. The only few complaints I have were about the veggies not being seasoned and almost cold when they came out. They must have grilled them prior to the dinner rush and then quick sauté to rewarm them, I don’t really know. All I know is I don’t like my food cold. Also the sauce was strange on the brocollini and it was partially burned. A quick steam and a sauté in garlic and salted butter is all you need. The Brussel sprouts were equally as bland and near cool. The Cesar was standard but the dressing was wonderful. All in all we were full and it was dang near the same price as a family meal through the drive through and so much tastier, THATBURGERTHOUGH!!! OHLOVED hearing the pianist play during our meal.

A friend and I went to Hudson’s for lunch to celebrate her birthday today. Although we had a reservation, the place was packed, so we had to wait a few minutes for a table. There were attractive, restrained holiday decorations, and the vibe was enthusiastic and noisy. We both ordered the chicken and corn chowder, which was very good, and the chicken ranch sandwich, which came in a brioche bun with very nice ripe tomato slices, pickled onion, and fresh dill pickles. The chicken breast was a bit dry, but the fresh tomatoes made the sandwich juicy and delicious. To our surprise, when we’d finished our sandwiches, the waitress appeared with a large slice of WARM bread pudding with a candle on top! We shared it. It was very tasty! I would say that the only real negative was the hostess, who needed to be a bit warmer in her attitude.

Hey this place was pretty decent. After the not so great reviews I read I was pretty skeptical. I would give it 3.5 stars because it wasn’t overly incredible but I would probably return and try again. I liked the brunch and it was a good price for the fare. I ordered the Dungeness crab cakes Benedict. It was quite tasty, but tasted a little bit fishy, not fishy in the fishy way you want it to taste. My boyfriend ordered the streak and eggs, it wasn’t the best cut of steak and he rated it a bit lower than I did, hence my rating. The service was pretty decent, they were jam packed and we had to sit at the bar to eat. Its definitely a place that you have to reserve setting way ahead of time if you want any chance at a table. I also ordered a mimosa that was pretty great actually. I would like to try more things here and the atmosphere was pretty neat.

Had breakfast here with some friends and it was wonderful I had the Bacon Omelets — Bacon, goat cheese, tomatoes, avocado, fresh basil. wow it was great very tasty. My wife had the Hudson’s Corned Beef Hash and she wouldn’t share it so I am thinking it is very good. The rest or our party enjoyed the food also. Even though the place was busy they let us stay and talk and enjoy coffee. The wait person was great, a bit funny and just made the experience nice.

Good food, beautiful building and guest rooms but why doesn’t someone tell the hostess to put away her cell phone? C’mon management! This cheapens the whole experience of fine dining. If I’m paying $ 100.00 for 2 adults and 2 kids dinners the last thing I want to see is a teenager on her phone. Very tacky!

Really great dinner. We started with the calamari and bread(we didn’t like the oil the bread came with, but we dipped it in the sauces that came with the calamari and loved that). The calamari were some of the best I’ve ever had. For my entrée I had the mushroom ravioli and found them to be just perfect. The herby sauce was superb. Thanks for the good tip, fellow Unilocalers.

Hudsons Bar and Grill had been my favorite restaurant in vancouver Wa… that is within the last decade or so, but not until just recently a month ago my gf and I decided to have dinner here. Needless to say the flavor of the dishes we usually order had totally lost it’s taste and originality. From the most simple toasted bread with oil and vinaigrette starter to even the very basic organic lettuce salad with pear and walnuts. On top of that our dinner entrée we looked forward to eating came out to be such a big disappointment also. Even our host/female server was a big let down. She was NOT attentive and showed a bit of attitude towards us.(Perhaps she hated her job) but please don’t take it out on your customers! I did NOT expect that kind of service in Hudson’s! Overall experience of the restaurant is UNSATISFACTORY! I really loved this restaurant. I hope in the near future, they hire better chefs and more customer friendly host/server!

If you can get over the very large and disconcerting painting that covers an entire wall of the main dining room — the one which depicts a Thanksgiving-ish soirée of a Native American(representing those who cannot afford to dine at Hudson’s) dining with some Caucasian Americans(or those who can afford $ 28 for several baby-fist sized porcini-encrusted scallops), while two other hungry-looking Native Americans look on in a Dicksenianesque«please sir, can I have some more» scenario — you will enjoy gorging on your porcini mushroom-encrusted scallops, two glasses of wine, crème brûlée… while the characters in the painting agonizingly look on. We came here to celebrate the milestone birthday of someone who was wayyy over 21, because nobody in her 20s nor her friends would have the wherewithal to spend more money than their age in years on a dish of five raviolis on a very big and white plate. Hudson’s is located in a lodge that looks like a log cabin Paul Bunyan never built. It’s related to the Heathman Hotel in Portland, a swank-a-dank hotel touted by Conde Nast as one of the world’s best places to stay. As such, the Heathman Lodge in Vancouver lives up to its reputation, as it’s ranked on Unilocal as one of the best places to stay in Vancouver, while Hudson’s Bar & Grill lives up to the fine-dining experience. Mixed drinks — g&t, old fashioned, gin martini — while the one person who dared order a microbrew was disappointed at the selection(this is not a microbrew kinda place). One sip of my drink and I knew the place was legit. The cocktails are reasonably-priced for a place of this caliber and finely done, though a little watered down.(ie. Not strong enough to fortify you against the final bill.) For starters we had bread(for which we had to pay), the shared plate of scallops, and crab cakes. Our server was very attentive with taking our orders and making sure our water glasses were filled, though cocktails came quite a bit later than ordered. The place was packed for a Thursday, and we’d arrived at the tail end of HH. Seeing that someone in our group was already ordering scallops as her main, our server thoughtfully put in an order for HALF a sharing plate(3 scallops for 4 people) at half the price, though little did he know that my husband is a scallop whore, and had expected SpongeBob himself to throw said scallops into his mouth, while SpongeBob and Mr. Krabs sing and dance the theme song. For the main, I had the short ribs special… which surprisingly came as a rectangular brick, perched atop a smatter of finely mashed garlic potatoes. Though the meat brick was small, it was all well-cooked and tender — all meat, no bones nor other mystery roughage parts. The scallops — on the sharing plate or porcini-crusted — were very well done, as was the ravioli and pork chops. And although the portions appeared small, everyone was quite stuffed at the end of the main course. Oh, but we didn’t stop there. Upon learning that we were celebrating a birthday, the server offered the lucky lady a dessert of her choice, on the house. This generous gesture made us feel like we should ALL order desserts to compensate, so one crème brûlée, something chocolately of utter decadence later, we practically rolled out of the restaurant, wishing that our pants were elasticized, or that we weren’t wearing any. Though the prices were on the high end and the large painting was rather spooky — the service and food quality were in keeping with the price level. Perhaps not a place for an everyday meal, but definitely a winner for a special occaision.

This place is absolutely fantastic! The atmosphere is very nice and relaxing. This is a prime spot for a date night or special occasion. There is also a fire and live piano music. The food is a bit expensive but that is to be expected. Everything is fresh, prepared well and tastes delicious. I had the calamari and it was fantastic. The sauce that goes with it is spectacular. Seriously, I think I’d buy it again for the sauce alone. I’d also suggest ordering the Flaming Spanish Coffee. Watching that being prepared is a treat.

This place MUST buy reviews! It’s hotel food. Looks okay, tastes bad, service is sub par. Hair in salad. New York Steak was frozen at some point. It was drowned in a thick brown sweet sauce to disguise the taste. Bread was worthless, you can make better at home with wonder bread.

So I finally had the opportunity to try this restaurant for lunch on a Friday afternoon. I had a bowl of their amazingly delicious Salmon and Corn chowder for a bargain price of only $ 5. I also shared a portobello sandwich. The Salmon chowder had gigantic pieces of salmon in it, and was very tasty. I would love to come back for this or try out one of their brunch specials. I really enjoyed my visit here. Our waitress was very accommodating when we requested ice and lemon for our waters. Well worth the visit.

My wife & I received a first rate dining experience here at Hudson’s grill. The ambiance of the Heathman Lodge coupled with the gracious attentive staff & fine food made us feel like we were VIPs. We had an amazing pan seared halibut fillet served over a scoop of mashed potatoes smothered in cream corn sprinkled with pomegranate & garnished with watercress. This was the house special for the evening and an amazing synergy of flavor. This finished wonderfully with a slice of NY cheesecake & scoop of vanilla ice cream. This was our first time out to dinner at Hudson’s and we plan to be back to try some more of their culinary delights.

We drove to Vancouver for a reason, and decided it’s almost 2PM and still hasn’t had lunch! The closest to our destination was a Unilocal’s review on the Hudson’s, so off we went. We were seated right away, and our waitress came by just as fast. We both ordered the Crab Risotto. Dungeness crab, Arborio rice, seafood broth, micro greens, & mushrooms. They used two types of mushrooms, and I was showing hubby the 2nd type can be used just like the white button mushroom variety(or any variety for that and he didn’t believe me!) The only thing I can say about my dish: ITWASTOODANGHOT! The crab was warm temperature. Everything else was great! Also, it seems like there’s something missing: a bread maybe a salad for the price we paid for this dish, something is not all there! In Italy, you need to ask for your receipt, so we must be in Italy because we waited TOOLONG for ours! It was a Sunday, and it wasn’t crowded, so the reason why we waited too long? I have no clue!

For a hotel lobby restaurant, the food at Hudson’s Bar and Grill was remarkably yummy and memorable. It may be the best food in Vancouver, WA. Since I was staying at Heathman’s Lodge, I popped down for Happy Hour(4 – 6) and ended up staying well into the night enjoying dish after dish and random conversations with travelers. Draft Beers are $ 3.50 for HH, so I opted for a Phriem IPA. It wasn’t very«hoppy» so I wasn’t very«happy.»(2 stars) After a few pints, I switched to Dry Fly Gin & Tonic to give this Spokane-distilled gin a shot. It’s a smooth gin that could use more juniper bite.(3 stars) Drinks are drinks … let’s get to the food. Gorgonzola Cheesecake Appetizer($ 10) That’s right … Cheesecake for an appetizer. I luv the way the executive chef thinks. This rich, creamy, and cheesy cheesecake comes with rustic Bread and was so good I had to share … so, I did with a barmate.(4 stars) Sizzling Forest Mushrooms($ 10) A hot plate of sizzlin’ mushrooms filled the entire room with the smell of garlic and jealousy. The wild mushroom blend was so good … that I didn’t dare share. This is a must-order.(5 stars) Smoked Chicken and Corn Chowder($ 5) For 5 bucks, I thought why not. The smokiness and creaminess of the chowder was ok, although, I’d love it if it was even creamier and smokier.(3 stars) Tillamook White Cheddar Burger($ 12) With so many great entrée options, this was the toughest choice. A pic on Unilocal convinced me to go with this cheeseburger … besides anything Tillamook is awesome. The thick beef patties and white cheddar oozing from all sides were cheesy burger happiness.(4 stars) Chocolate Mousse Cake Of course, I didn’t need dessert, but this simply looked too good to pass up. I should of skipped it. I would of preferred the chocolate cake if they moussed up the cake instead of being so thick and firm.(2 stars) Besides the mushrooms, the best course of the meal was the bartender. Can’t remember her name after so many drinks, but she rocks … and rolls. Love her. Hudson’s Bar & Grill is one damn good hotel lobby restaurant. There were several other specialties that looked tempting on the menu, so, I hope I get the chance to stay at Heathman’s Lodge again and give them a try, too.
