Unbelievably tasty food! Their chicken masala is the best I’ve ever tried! The service is great! They kindly include a naan and some rice with the order for no additional charge! I take another naan instead of rice! Prices are low! Definitely worth trying, if you love good food like I do:)

So far, sooooooo good. Spicy done right! Excellent service on delivery order and friendly delivery guy. Sherman Oaks area, Chicken Tikka Masala was great for dipping the cheese naan in. Onion Pakora, my first time anywhere and darn tasty. Especially on the side to soak up some savory sauces. I haven’t dined in, nor seen the place just yet. But from our online order, I recommend this place for sure… And hear they deliver till 12

Please refer to Svetlana S. review; she said it all. FYI It took them seconds to be rude to us, took them minutes to cancel our order but it took them four days to refund my money; shaddddddddddy!

I’m really dissapointed and angry with the service my group and I received here. We were planning on placing an order through Unilocal to get our food delivered. We called to find out how far they delivered, which was 4 – 5 miles. After looking up that our address was 1 mile past their limit, we gave them another call to see if this was alright with them and if paying a greater delivery charge would allow them to make an exception for us. NONONO was what we were told with quite a bit of attitude and annoyance. So we reluctantly placed our order through Unilocal for take out this time. Man o man I really wish we would have gone with our gut instincts and chose another place. My girlfriend was charged roughly $ 60 and we were told our order would be ready soon. We tried giving the place one last call to see if there was anyway they would change our order to delivery. Their answer? «Stop calling here! We already told you no. You’ve called 3 times already. What do you want? Call Unilocal and deal with them!» I wasn’t aware that was an appropriate way to treat your customers. When we got their to pick up our order, they were even more rude to us then than they were on the phone. The main person walked in the back as soon as we walked in and completely pretended not to notice us. Shortly after walking in, my girlfriend received an email from Unilocal stating that«the merchant reports that the requested items are unavailable and that your order will be cancelled» So instead of the manager in some way, any way, apologizing to us for the confusion, he made us out to be the bad guys. He acted like a complete a**hole and clearly didn’t want our business. But as soon as another Indian coupled walked in behind us, they were treated like royalty. I guess there’s a reason this place was completely empty on a Saturday night. I don’t mean to rant and rave and I normally don’t, but honestly this place should be ashamed of themselves. I will NEVER step foot into this place and will be sure to let my friends know to do the same.

I’ve missed this place since I moved. It was so awesome to be able to pick up dinner here the other night. The service is impeccable and the food is amazing. I especially enjoy the texture of the naan. I got my usual again… shahi paneer/paneer korma, rice and naan. I pick up to go more than I eat in here and it is so convenient. If you love Indian you’ll love Royal Indian.

So good! The food is delicious, the place itself is nice(although we ordered take-out) it seems like the service is great when you’re dining. The mango lassi is delicious and the meat samosas are dam good! We work literally 2 minutes from them and I couldn’t leave to grab my food… I asked them to deliver and my food came out to about $ 16 they didn’t want to deliver my food since it was a $ 20 minimum… I would totally overlook that as a business owner because we’re down the street and I’m $ 4 less than their requirement… anyhow though it was great that was my only complaint towards them…

Royal Indian is one of my favorite restaurants. I particularly love the paneer korma and naan. And the waiter is wicked nice. Always asks if we parked on the street, and will feed the meter for you. Yes, they keep an eye on you, and are constantly refilling water and checking on you, but lots of restaurants do that. And it’s loads better than getting your food and never seeing the waiter again. Incredibly nice. The price is great, and the food is even better!

By far one of the best indian restaurants I have ever been to. We are regulars and every time we go there, we are always treated exceptionally. I have read some of the other reviews about the staff being rude, which I find completely inaccurate. The staff finds a perfect balance in providing helpful service while at the same time allowing you to experience privacy with your fellow food connoisseurs. The best dishes by far are the Chicken Tikka Masala, Chicken Tandoori, and the Garlic Naan. I would suggest going during lunch, as it is not a la carte like the dinner. the lunch specials start at $ 5.95 and range up to $ 7.95. If you want to find a hidden gem, that embodies the overall indian experience with delicious food, then you have found your spot! Enjoy

We’ve come here a couple and ordered several times. Our favorites are Chicken Tikka and pretty much all of their Naans. Their restaurant is very clean, well maintained and can be quite charming. Their service is great! And I like the fact that they seem to take pride in this, evident in their meticulous ways of setting up the table. One thing I don’t like about this restaurant is that I now dare not try any other Indian restos. :)

I cant say enough how much I love this place. The owners are SO nice— always kind and generous. We usually do delivery and its quick and the food is always steaming hot. They give great recommendations and everything is delicious. I have been to so many places in this city and this place still is on the very top of my list. Keep up the GREAT work, Royal Indian. You have loyal customers with us!!!

Lunch specials start at $ 5.95, but average $ 7.95. The food was fresh and light with real flavor– not the watered down, bland Americana stuff you sometimes see. The lunch special had plenty of food to last, so I think it was a good deal. Will be back!

I’ve always loved Indian food and I’ve been around the states and I have to say this place is by far my most favorite. I’ve been here personally with my gf a few times and we’re constantly ordering delivery from them and they never disappoint. It’s been our go to place whenever we have the«Crave». Their staff is always friendly and their service is top notch. Interior is a modest size but very clean and classy. I personally love their Chicken Tikka Masala and Spinach Vindaloo, and their meat Samosa’s to die for! I’m moving away a bit far from my current place but I’m quite sure my gf and I will be back again and again when we have our«Crave» :)

Everything was delicious, not only the service was excellent, also the staff is quite friendly. My friend asked what vegetables were fresh and he was very honest, he listed which were fresh and which ones they have to use frozen. We had dinner here for my birthday, we had the mixed tandoori(since it was the first time we were at this restaurant, we had a sampler as a reference), Saga Aloo, Channa Masala, garlic naan and mango lassi. I am honestly very happy I will not have to drive further to my previous favorite indian restaurant… and they also have delivery! Although I might not use it too much since I like the place, it’s small, clean and nicely decorated, but the best is the music. I trust this review can help you with your indian restaurant choice. :)

My definite go to place for indian food in Van Nuys! The service is SPECTACULAR. Chicken Tikka Masala: delish and creamy. my usual fav Chicken Vindaloo: we wanted it spicy and they delivered! nom nom Garlic Naan: I am in no means an Indian food pro, but their naan is by far my favorite. Fluffy and full of garlic! nom nom Basmati rice: I wish they would’ve had saffron rice, but this’ll do! Overall: It’s a definite go! You have to try this place!

My husband, 4 month old son, and I came here because I heard really great reviews on Unilocal about it and we are always trying to find good Indian food. It wasn’t very far from our home and we were able to snag the last metered parking in front of the restaurant. I really like how these meters have the option to use credit card if you don’t have coins. The outside of the building doesn’t stand out much except for the giant«grand opening» sign but the inside is very refined and inviting. The tables are nicely dressed and the booths were nice and comfy. Everyone was right about the music. It’s hard not to nod your head to the beat or sway in your seat. The décor may be a bit tacky but the establishment is kept clean and the service is amazing! The waiters were so attentive and friendly. We started off with vegetable samosas as appetizers. Since we didn’t come for dinner, we had to pay for these but I think it was worth it because it was really delicious and the sauces they give on the side were also great. As for our main lunch my husband had the chicken tikka jalfezi and I got the chicken tikka masala because so many people were raving about this dish. We both got the medium spiciness which was a bit spicier than I thought it would be but it didn’t ruin the meal. The meal came with rice, veggies, and two types of salads We also ordered the garlic naan. The chicken dishes were both outstanding but I liked the jalfezi one better than the masala. The rice was… well rice and was just fine and the mixed veggies were also just fine. I say they were fine because it complemented the main dish but the flavor wasn’t memorable. I didn’t like the salads at all but my husband did and he ate them for me. The garlic naan were warm and awesome but I wish they were more than 4 slices! My husband and I were practically fighting over them. I’m not an expert on Indian cuisine and I have only been to a few places for their buffets but I think so far this place is the best Indian restaurant I have been to. The price in the end was very affordable, $ 30 with meal and tip, but the service and food were the best part. We will definitely come again!

This place is wonderful. I wouldn’t really consider myself the biggest fan of Indian food, but Royal Indian has started to change my mind. The food tasted really fresh, unlike the majority of Indian restaurants I’ve tried. They also have the option of making any dish on the menu mild, medium, or spicy, which I think is fantastic. As a person who doesn’t like spicy foods, it’s nice to be in a place where I can order anything from the menu and get it made to fit my taste. The outside is a bit tacky, and the location isn’t the best, but once you’re inside you’ll feel completely welcomed by the wonderful staff and you’ll LOVE the food. Especially the vegetarian samosas. So good.
