I love this restaurant. I come with friends but also like to eat lunch and dinner alone — it’s very peaceful and has outdoor seating, as well. I call it «eating at grandma’s house» ~ it’s home-style Korean cooking at its best. Wonderful banchan: marinated eggplant, fishcake, roasted potatoes, spinach, kimchee, mung beansprouts, cucumber, white radish, 6 of these traditional side dishes, selected by the kitchen, are brought to the table with every order(ok to ask for refills!) Delicious hot tea, Korean beer, sake. I usually get the Mackeral, sometimes squid hot pot. I don’t eat beef, but friends say it’s great. I like the Korean hot sauce(by request only.) Great lunch special between 11am and 3pm, Mon — Fri(except holidays.)

The servers are rude, the service is slow and I noticed that two Asian families that came in after us were seated before my family which made us feel unwelcome but we were hungry and love Korean BBQ so we stayed. When it came time to leave I noticed that the person in front of us that was about to pay his bill noticed that he was charged for several items that his family did not order and on my bill I was charged for 3 beers that we did not order. When I pointed it out the the cashier she argued that the bill was correct. No, it was not, we did not order any alcohol, we had the kids with us and didn’t want to drink this night. I had to make the cashier go find the server and then they would speak to each other in Korean until finally they removed the drinks. When I didn’t tip she looked at me as if I had done something wrong. For a few years I worked as a bartender so tipping is important for me but you don’t tip bad service. No point in returning here, there are not many Korean BBQ’s in the area but this is not the only one.

Walked in with a Korean co worker. Very mom and pop style restaurant. Authentic flavors. Was a little nervous to eat here because it was a little toooo authentic for me. First we got a few sides on the table, Kim chee, potatoes, eggplant. After tasting them I knew this place would be good. Ordered the Bibimbop… Delicious. Could have used a little more flavor but can not say anything bad about it. Nice little lunch spot.

This place is excellent and food is great. The service is good as well. I think is best place for Korean food in the valley. The atmosphere is nice and the restaurant is clean. No need drive to Korea town with this place close to home!

Lately I’ve had an obsession with Korean food and i was so glad when i found this little authentic korean restaurant in the valley i knew i had to give it a go and i am so glad i did my husband and i had the stone fire pot bibimbap and the bbq sliced beef they were both so yummy the beef was so tender and lean and the side dishes were really fresh and you can tell their Kimchi is homemade and not store bought. We had a couple of beers and for the price we paid it was really affordable and worth it i recommend this little spot if you’re truely looking for authentic korean food.

Love this little Korean Restaurant. It’s a hidden gem in the valley that’s for sure. What lured me to try it was that they had a Ginseng chicken soup(Samgyetang). Perfect during a cold day or after a workout to build back your energy. After my initial visit I brought the family and Korean BBQ to the Dumpling soup and soondubu — awesome. Love it.

It’s ok. I come here every once in a while for Tofu soup to go. Sometimes galbi combo. Their soup is pretty decent. Galbi combo is not bad but it could be a little more generous. Their kimch is Korean traditional very sour but no sweet, which is not my favorite. Other pickles and small dishes are ok, not great. Price is good thou. It’s not a fast service but it’s alright. I would go to O Tofu for really good tofu soup and kimch and all that. But they are pretty pricy, so this one is a good alternative. Thank you

The best option you can find. Just look at all the pictures posted and you will get hungry. This is not a korean BBQ place, it is a-la-carte and had plenty of healthy options.

One of my most favorite restaurants ever serving korean food. The waitstaff is super sweet and friendly. They have lots of vegetarian options. I enjoyed their porridge and neng myeun very much. Porridge is good for a hot day and neng myeun is good lunch for summer :) Did I mention their side are also super delish?

What a great hidden gem in the heart of the San Fernando Valley. I was craving some Korean food. As I was in the area I wanted to give this place a try. I have to say the food was fresh and excellent. They have two Korean restaurants next to each other. This one you order and they cook for you. As I was not in the mood to cook. The minute you arrive you are greeted with a smile and a hello. After seating down no more then two minutes the side dishes where brought to the table. About ten minutes later the food came out. I have to say the beef was good that I wanted to order more. If you are a person who loves Korean BBQ and does not want to cook then you will love this place. You plenty of parking in the private lot. It’s located in a strip mall with a Korean market. By far on best Korean BBQ I had in LA.

I got the AYCE. Decent Meat. Quick Service. This is all I need compared to the Valley’s notorious service. Either that or props to the guy waiter that goes to CSUN.

Authentic Korean food in the Valley! Decent prices. Service is ok. It’s Korean… what kind of service do you expect? Korean restaurants are not known for service. This restaurant is no different. If you want service, go to Applebee’s or Denny’s. If you want Korean food, then this is the place.

Stopped in for lunch, ordered cabbage soup and spicy pork lunch. One side dish was something I’ve never seen before, so naturally it was first thing I tried. It looked like squid or snails??? I said to my wife, «try this», she got this ‘no way’ look. I got her to take a tiny bite… Fantastic… It was eggplant! Their kimshi,(made on premises), was best I’ve had since our visit to Seoul. This Korean«hole in the wall» is now on my list of regular spots. Can’t wait to try more stuff.

3 ½ stars. I’ve been meaning to review this place but couldn’t for the fact that I’ve always ordered to go. This place gets a 5 star review for to go orders but I can’t say the same for dining in. I always like to eat at Korean places and purposely not speak Korean to see if I’d be treated differently. My people are infamous for treating their own kind like gold and others like shit, lol. I wasn’t treated poorly here but the service could’ve been way better! I had to ask 3 times for a refill on ban chan/side dishes(which should be automatic by the way). Finally, one of the ladies came to ask me which ones I wanted a refill on and when I said all of them, she looked annoyed. Boo on you, lady. Not gonna lie though, the food is pretty legit! It’s nice to get authentic Korean food because I can’t eat Korean BBQ all the time(mm maybe). The ambiance is nothing special. It’s cozy and family style. I’ll probably only be back for the fact that the food is awesome and the to go orders are quick. The prices are very reasonable as well. My usual is the Dduk Mandu Gguk(rice cake & dumpling soup) which came out to cost around $ 9.50 including tax. There is a 10% discount if you check in as well(excluding lunch specials).

Amazing Korean food without the unnecessary frills of other places. Everything was delicious, from the side dishes in the beginning to the seafood pancake, glass noodles, and spicy pork. Even the steamed rice is very tasty with the addition of red bean. Also, the comments regarding how they treat white customers do not apply. I went with my boyfriend for dinner and we were treated with the utmost kindness, respect, and good service. Come here for a delicious meal at a fair price, and don’t be fooled by the neon-lit ‘all you can eat’ Korean place next door.

I moved here from San Francisco, California. The Restaurateurs there make you feel welcome and serve delicious food. I am trying to replace all the great restaurants I have eaten in there — in Los Angeles. Evergreen had such good reviews. There was one troubling review about the way they treat White People. I laughed it off. But then I went there and it was true. Every other patron there was Asian and they brought them out things they didn’t bring to me. No — it wasn’t an order on their part — they just brought drinks and spices and pastes to the table when they sat down. Hey Evergreen!- Just hang a sign in your window that says, «Asians Only» and I will know that you don’t want my money and that you won’t try so hard on the dishes you bring to my table. Maybe they don’t know how to cook. But I have ordered all the same dishes in other Korean restaurants and they were wonderful. The BBQ Beef was dry. The Kimchee & Pork Belly was BLAH. Everything needed salt and spice. I asked for something hot and the waitress brought me a bottle of Sriracha. Thanks for making me feel so very unwelcome in your restaurant. I will never come back here again.

The second you walk into Cho Eun(a.k.a. Evergreen) you feel the authenticity. This place vibes like the Real Deal, because it is. You don’t need to scan the newspaper clippings on the wall to know that the ladies running this place have been here a long time, doing exactly this. The soup you eat today is going to taste exactly the same as it would have five, ten, twenty years ago. And the overall feel of the place – the immediate, can’t-put-your-finger-on-it vibe – is of a small, family-owned, side-street joint outside of Seoul. These are all good things. The fact that they might run out of the dish you want(because a big group of Korean retirees just came in and ordered the last of it) is actually a good thing, too. Service is reasonably quick, and the banchan, as others have noted, are homemade and honest(although the kimchi isn’t my wife’s favorite style). We’ve been here maybe half a dozen times since we moved(sort of) into the neighborhood, and each time we’ve found the food to be delicious. Bottom line: You don’t come here for the décor(which, like the aforementioned soup, seems to have changed hardly at all since the place opened), or for a dizzying array of menu options. And you don’t come here for the slightly boozy, slightly greasy AYCEKBBQ experience that, for some, is the stereotype of Korean food. This is something different. Something quieter, for sure. And it’s really, really good.

If you’re craving BOMB home-cooked korean meals, this is the place to go. The side dishes are SO fresh and plentiful. The soy bean sprouts aren’t overcooked like they are at most places, the marinated potatoes are the perfect texture, the eggplant is also delicious, cucumbers are perfectly crunchy and tasty, and the kimchi is perfect! This is my favorite place to get spicy pork bulgogi, which is something I can be really picky about. The marination has that bbq smoked-meat taste to it and is not overly sweet. AND it’s actually spicy, unlike a lot of other places that, for some sad reason, fail to add enough spice to a «spicy» dish. I also get the stir fried kimchi and pork dish. They are extremely generous with the pork, unlike a lot of places that will give just mostly kimchi. The rice cake inside compliments the dish very well and the marination is perfect as well. The last time I went, I got the BBQ chicken but here’s a secret that everyone should know: ASKFORITSPICY. Oh my god. My taste buds went to heaven. The chicken was cooked SO perfectly — tender, juicy, and caramelized just right. I come to this place every week to get a dose of good authentic korean food. It’s definitely worth a try.
