Romano’s

My favorite pizza in the area by far! I’ve tried them all. This is the closest I can find to Mama’s Pizza in Arlington which is a craving of mine. Except I think Romano’s is actually better. I wish they delivered to Anna.

We really enjoy our Friday night pizza and cheese bread from Romano’s. The place is great, the staff is friendly and it’s always clean.

I was visiting town look at property in the area. Not too many choices for lunch on Monday because the other BBQ place is closed. I did not want pizza for lunch but it was the only place open. I was surprised to find a lot of other choices on the menu and I had an excellent chicken sandwich. I am not in Van Alstyne often but I would certainly come back here. Very clean place with friendly service and prices.

I came in here for the first to eat since didn’t see that many choices of place to eat in this town while was passing though and thought might try there buffet at lunch time. So asked about getting some pasta that they had on the buffet the girl said that we only make it one time a day when it’s out it is out and then didn’t have that many choices to offer far as pizza wise and then girl took my drink order once and never refilled my glass end up having to do it myself. Then never took the old plates away there were plates left on other tables that were never cleaned also food left on the floor. I’m glad that was passing though will go back there again.

Just moved to town and found this pizza place. Owner is a great guy and always comes out to visit with you. Great pizza and cheese rolls. Hires local HS kids to give them a job locally and they are always polite and helpful. I will continue to support this locally owned pizza place.

Worth getting off the highway for! I always love pizza that isn’t chain pizza, the prices are great and the pizza is wonderful also. I had a hamburger, jalapeño, and green olive. Very good!
Love that it is so close to home but if your traveling and looking for a super meal just off the highway this is a great spot.

I love the pizza here! Although the service is lacking, most of the time you’ll probably just get the buffet like I do, so it doesn’t matter that much. Definitely a good place to try.

Support your locals instead of the chains

Not the most authentic pizza (far from a NY style). But great sauce and fresh ingredients made for a tasty pie. Clean, restored property not far from 75 makes it a worthwhile pit stop.

Wow best place in town. The ravioli is fantastic, prices are easy on the wallet. Closest place to Dallas to get a gyro

Great tasting food. Very well priced (cheap!). Always kind wait staff. Nice, relaxing downtown feel. One of my favorite places in far north Texas.

Been going here for years. The décor is an old V.A. store on the square. I love the retro feel, the old-​fashioned ceiling, and the fans. The guy who owns the place is pretty nice, as well as the others. He doesn’t talk much (well to me anyway).
The place is cheaper than all the other pizza places around, and they’re the only place that sells decent cheese rolls since Pizza Plus closed down. The food is good, and always hot. The salad bar is well stocked. The floors and kitchen look clean. I remember when this restaurant first opened 10 or so years ago, and the ‘haters’ started a rumor that the walk-​in freezer was full of roaches. That’s a lie, and I cannot believe that ridiculous rumor is still around.
I recommend if you’re new to the V.A. area.
