This place was pretty good 15 years ago, but it’s run down and the Mongolian BBQ is terrible now. There’s two hot burners with some type of sweet and sour pork riblet and cheap fried whole shrimp that’s just swimming in grease. The other burner has dried tasteless fried rice and pot stickers. All are low quality grade items. The only thing that’s okay is their Mongolian BBQ. They offer lamb which many Mongolian places don’t offer nowadays. Though the cilantro was all wilted and obvious haven’t been washed. This was not what I expected. For the price you pay which I think it’s $ 14 per for dinner it’s gawd awful. The servers were prompt and curious which earned an extra star, but other than that, I will probably not go back for another 15 years.

We had an amazing dinner! Delicious and fresh food. Excellent service! I would have given a 5 star review if it wasn’t for the disgusting bathroom. I wish I hadn’t gone in there after that delicious dinner! It smelled horrible, and was extremely dirty. This place could use a renovation. Don’t use the bathroom here!

Let me tell u. This place is cute. It’s located in like the only shopping center in this area. There are two sides to the restaurant. One for regular dinners the other for the buffet. The buffet is only $ 15 and it taste like it. Food was bland. Me and my partner agreed that it’s tastes like day old good. The highlight is the in house cook. U pick ur frozen pork, chicken, beef or lamb and veggie topping and sauces ranging from garlic, ginger, BBQ, oaster, sesame, chillie and others. U bring ur bowl to the cook who adds the noodles. I saw the cook bring out the noodles from under the shelf. The noodles did not look like they were the appropriate temperature and they were beyond soggy. The meat wasn’t fresh and the flavors were watered down. I had some serious indigestion. The host were very kind but the managers were so mean to their employees. This could also be a culture difference. Lastly. Before we left we overheard another guest complaining about the health code. Apparently the main in house cook dropped his chop sticks and continued to cook with them. #hellanasty

Great food. We enjoyed the sczechuan chicken, honey walnut shrimp, and peking ribs. The portions were much smaller than expected from chinese food, and more expensive. A poor combination. We left hungry and wont be returning.

Meh, it was ok. I love Chinese food and this place didn’t deliver. I didn’t feel satisfied when I left. The staff was great, I just wish their food was better. :(

Eh. just kind of greasy. Had the Chery Chicken because it sounded divine, but it was just fried chicken in a thin sauce. Not one veggie in sight. Nice service though. Don’t know what all the hoopla is about. Maybe it’s because it’s in wack a$$ Vallejo.

Coming from SF where many of the great Chinese food are, I was pleasantly surprised at how good the food here was. We ate at the traditional non-BBQ side. The honey walnut prawns were on par with most of the top Chinese restaurants in SF. The house fried rice had all kinds of meat and the portions were generous too. Likely the best combination fried rice I have had. It’s also quite unique that this restaurant serves two types of clienteles. One side offers the simple BBQ all you can eat style, while the opposite side offers the more traditional restaurant experience. The right side offers much more variety, though of course, each dish has its own cost. Will share this location with friends and family when I head up Vallejo again.

I know the quality of Princess Garden was very high compared to other Chinese food reataurants out there. The taste and quality of food here diminished over a period of time. Ordered 3 house fried rice– lacks taste, it tastes so plain, beef were cut in chunks. Mongolian bbq– beef were not that cooked, big chunks, not spicy, lacks flavor(you can tell by the color). Orange chicken– has orange peels on it, panda express is better. Sweet and sour pork has no color at all compared to before that it was so tasty and has a reddish color. Now it was bland and just have pineapple chunks and green pepper. I paid 68.14 $ for all that. I don’t mind paying if I’m satisfied. And if the food is great! I used to be an avid customer here but after last night, that will be my last stop there. Sorry I had to share. I do not know if the owners had changed over time.

Crashed a party here because I hit the Target on the way back from Sacramento and overall, the visit was not bad. I say this because the proliferation of Chinese American eateries along the 80 has hit an all time high and frankly, I am only a big fan of Panda Express when everything else is closed or close to death. Princess Garden is divided into two parts: Mongolian BBQ on the left and sit-down Chinese family style on the right. The menu boasts the typical generic entrees and sides that they have encouraged to suit american tastes. The cheating douchebag from Benicia recommended the Cherry Chicken and when it came out, I had to laugh. There were actually maraschino cherries sitting on top of the tossed fried nuggets of chicken. The Hot and Sour soup was actually pretty good as was the chow mein but for a spot in Vallejo, I was surprised at how little the portions were. Yank Sing, I understand. But this place? 3 stars for Chinese food in Vallejo if you need it.

I want to start by saying even though the food was just ok, customer service was awesome. The servers and busboys were so courteous and helpful, and really did go above and beyond. The food — although I thought the wonton was good albeit slightly different, it was tasty and not overly salty. The rest of what we ordered was ok. Sweet and sour was not crispy, a little chewy and lacking something. The bok choy and black mushrooms was pretty good although o didn’t like that all the dishes had too much sauce(I wanted the veggie dish to just be steamed and healthy tasting). The Mongolian beef was not a bit spicy which I was hoping for. Anyway, ok place to try but I won’t be going back. But I really appreciate the awesome customer service. That was worth the visit.

Salmonella warning! I hardly review but am doing it so people don’t get sick. The practice here is to place the cooked Mongolian BBQ back in the same bowl you used to fill the raw meats!!! We noticed this so brought another clean bowl for the cook to place the cooked food in but he made a stink about that. Unbelievable. The only good thing about this place is the service from our waitress.

Definitely one of my top 3 picks when I want Chinese and been coming here for years! The left side is the BBQ side which is buffet style. All you can eat Mongolian BBQ, fried rice, potstickers, cherry spare ribs and shrimp. During dinner time, they serve appetizers on a little boat thing which has egg rolls, chicken wings, fried wontons and little beef sticks that cooks on the little pitt on the boat. And of course soup is served as well. The right side is the Regular side, meaning regular family-style served Chinese food. Which is of course more formal. They also have a Korean menu. I’ve only tried the ja-ja-mein and pineapple chicken off that menu but they were delicious. I love the cream cheese wontons which are a MUST every single time I go. The honey walnut prawns are huge and the cashew nut pork are also on the top of my list. If you like the cherry spare ribs on the BBQ side, you should definitely order the cherry chicken one time! I love them cause they’re boneless and it’s easier to eat. Anyway, you could also order dishes by trays for parties OR you could actually rent the whole regular side for special occasions like baby showers, birthdays, anniversary parties, etc. My favorite waitress is Tina and my favorite waited is Jimmy. Always such a welcoming feeling!

Delicious food, we had steamed rice, lemon chicken, sweet and sour pork as well as a veggie dish i cant remember the name of. My only complaint is the service was sub par. We had to wait 10 minutes to get the check because they did not frequent the section they seated us in often. Drink refills were also a pain to get for the same reason. Also on our way out we had them box our food and they mixed all the entrees together in 1 box, making it inedible for our vegitarian partners who were with us.

Went here based on a friends recommendation. Checked out Unilocal reviews and decided to give it a try. We were pleasantly surprised. Food was excellent, service was spot on. We tried the honey walnut prawns which were delicious… The sweet & sour chicken was also tasty, fried rice was excellent and spicy chicken dish as well as the pot stickers were delicious. Looking forward to going back to try some of their other dishes.

So my friends and I came here right after our fun day @ Six Flags since we saw a lot of good reviews about it here on Unilocal. Our waiter that we had was super funny and real. He didn’t hide stuff or try to sell us on what to get. He’s the kind where you want to have @ like every Chinese restaurant. Very nice guy! The food is GOOD. We order five dishes and soup. Honey Walnut Prawns, Mushroom — Snow Pea — Water Chestnut for veggies, Sweet and Sour Pork, chicken dish and this Beef dish I forgot what it was called. The soup was wonton. Honey Walnut Prawns were amazing. Veggies I loved. Sweet and Sour Pork was good, just any other. The chicken dish was too salty for me and lots of sauce. The beef was good, not chewy. The soup was the ONLY thing I can’t pass up. So we all get our bowls to eat, well in my friends bowl was a HAIR! Our waiter was very nice about it and had the chefs in the back make us another bowl so we got seconds of soup. He was very sorry for it, which kinda made me feel bad that there was a hair in her soup. @ the end of our meal he gave us a plate of oranges which were sweet and juicy and fortune cookies! Overall, this place is nice and I would go back. Between six people I think we each paid about $ 15, so not bad for a warm meal after being out on our feet all day. You will get food coma though lol.

I can’t believe a restaurant like Princess Garden exists in Vallejo. Honestly, this place is so pretty, so pretty and very pretty. This restaurant is divided into two sections, Mongolian BBQ and Chinese(never seen a restaurant like this ever). So my review is for the Chinese side: Parking: Giant strip mall parking lot. impossible to not find parking. Service: Best service I have ever received in an Asian restaurant. The waiter was very friendly and patient with us because my co-workers and I took a while to examine the menu. Menu is very organized and clear with Chinese food names and English subtitles. The busboy refilled our waters consistently without us having to ask him. Food: Our group ordered a combination of the combination chow mien, sweet & sour pork and cashew chicken. While this food wasn’t the best Chinese I have ever had, it was still very good. The food was fresh, not too greasy and portions were HUGE. Presentation of the food was pretty, they use these pretty plates to serve the food on. Overall: This is a great place to get great Chinese Food. This place has an intimate feeling to it, so Princess Garden is also good for romantic date-nights. I saw a lot of Chinese people eating here in addition to the rest of the clientele, so that’s a good sign that the food is good. If I ever come back to Vallejo and want a great inexpensive dinner experience, I would definitely consider Princess Garden!

The Mongolian BBQ is spectacular here. I am not really aware of any places around that serve this type of food. There was a Great Kahn’s Mongolian BBQ at the Sun Valley Mall, but it closed down and it was was no where near as good as Princess Garden’s Mongolian BBQ. I usually get take out. You go down the line to pick the items you would like in it such as meats, vegetables and sauces. Then you hand the bowl to the cook and he cooks it on the flat grill by flipping it around with cooking sticks. You have the option to include noodles and it comes with steamed rice or fried rice. They’ve had the same cook for a long time. He is always very friendly and remembers me each time I come in.

I’m not sure why the rating for this restaurant is so high. I might have to give it another try after coming here twice for their mongolian bbq and korean dishes. First time coming here for mongolian bbq was just«mehhhh.» Yes it’s nice that it’s AYCE and can choose your own veggies and meat, but the way it was cooked was not great. All of mine and my friend’s dishes came out burnt and flavorless. Their sauces are heavily watered down so even following their sauce guide doesn’t give you a unique or adequate flavor to your dish. Later on I just wanted grilled assorted vegetables with garlic, but that didn’t even turn out well. Although, if you want a semi cheap AYCE meal, this would be a good deal. Oh yeah, I was really turned off by them using the same bowl that I used to put in my raw meats and vegetables. Suggestion: keep clean plates/bowls near the grill to serve the cooked food instead of using the same bowl for the raw food. Second time I came, we tried some of their korean food. While this was better than the mongolian bbq, it was not amazing. We tried their shrimp dish, black bean noodles and fried beef dish. It was still lacking in uniqueness. Furthermore, the price of what we paid for for the small portions was disappointing. I’ll have to come back to try some of their Chinese food since it might be better than these other cuisines. Although it does a good job at bringing diverse flavors to Vallejo, if it focuses on one thing to make it stand out, it would make is so much better. The customer service was excellent though!

Princess Garden and I go WAY back from my elementary days from St. Catherine! I haven’t eaten at their place since the third grade, so I realize it was time to make a visit with a childhood memory. Princess Garden is one of those restaurants that’s easy to miss. It’s buried further down past Target. As long as you see the Hancock Fabric store at the corner of the business plaza you should be fine. There’s plenty of room to park. However, be aware of your personal valuables. Hide them in a safe spot where it’s not visible. I heard that there are some people that often breaks into cars if they see something they like especially around the Black Bear Diner area. Today, I decided to go for the All You Can Eat Mongolian BBQ. I was greeted by this lovely friendly female hostess who quickly sat me down in seconds. I was acknowledged by every staff member that passed by me, and they were prompt with refilling my water and making sure I was comfortable. What made their customer service stand out from other Chinese restaurants is the fact they like to connect with their customers and be personable which is probably why most of the Unilocal reviews are high. On the other hand, I liked how clean the Mongolian BBQ area is when you’re picking out your ingredients for your dish. The meat and vegetables looked fresh, and it didn’t look rotten as compared to Mongolian BBQ places. Also, there’s a guide to how much of each sauce to put if you want mild, spicy, or curry looking Mongolian BBQ! Overall, the restaurant looks clean no matter where you sit. I still have yet to try their other dishes! I’ll come back on another day to check out their lunch specials.
